First amnesia story I've ever liked.

He falls first and she falls all over again. After a car accident leaves Rosie with retrograde amnesia and no memories of the past 6 years including her fiance she makes everyone around her keep the stories of the past to themselves as she tries to navigate her new normal. Zev on the other hand will not and can not let rose go he will do whatever It takes to help her remember or at least fall for him since he's done it once before.
The story had the vibes of The Vow mixed with a little 50 first Dates mixed with a little over board and every other amnesia romance story I can think of.
There are some triggers discussed throughout the book like panic attacks and anxiety, Greif, car accident. Overall clean and wholesome romance no spice no language. I love the found family and friendships in this series. Super sweet rom com I was hoping for a different ending but there was a happy ending nonetheless.

I should have kept a tally of the number of times I gasped while reading this book. This book is gonna make you feel a lot of deep feelings. I read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down. This book will be best enjoyed if you have read the other books in the series as Zev and Rosalie’s story are woven into those.

-Zev’s suggestions of places that Rosalie should go
-when questions were asked

𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝕍𝕚𝕓𝕖: Like The Vow, but lighter, sweeter, and wrapped in the charm of a wholesome rom-com. Think second chances, familiar faces, small-town warmth, and a romance that leans more toward comfort than angst.
𝕄𝕪 𝕋𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤:
This was one of my most anticipated reads because I absolutely loved the previous books in the series. Ever since Zev and Rose’s first interaction, I’d been hoping we’d eventually get their story. Naturally, I went into this one with pretty high expectations.
I was hoping for a romance full of longing, unresolved tension, and all the emotional payoff that comes from two people finding their way back to each other. While there were definitely moments that hinted at those emotions, they never fully landed for me.
It’s honestly difficult to pinpoint exactly what felt missing. If I had to describe it, I’d say it was the yearning. I kept waiting for that ache, that emotional tension that makes you root so desperately for the characters to end up together. There were scenes where I thought the story was building toward that depth, but they often resolved more quickly than I expected, leaving me wanting just a little more emotional weight.
That said, this was still an enjoyable read. Jen Atkinson continues to write wholesome romances with warmth and sincerity, and it was such a pleasure to revisit the characters from the earlier books. Seeing where everyone is now added an extra layer of enjoyment, especially if you’ve followed the series from the beginning.
Although this wasn’t my favorite in the series, I still appreciate what the author was trying to accomplish. Not every romance needs to be filled with intense angst, and I know many readers will appreciate the gentler, more lighthearted approach this story takes. Unfortunately, it just didn’t resonate with me quite as deeply as I’d hoped.
If you’ve enjoyed Jen Atkinson’s previous books, I still think this is worth picking up, especially if you’ve been waiting for Zev and Rose’s story. And if my biggest quibble, the lack of stronger emotional yearning, isn’t something that bothers you, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this more than I did.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An emotional rollercoaster! Laugh-out-loud funny one minute, heartbreaking the next.
Wow! You Again completely blew me away. After watching Zev and Rosalie grow as side characters throughout the previous books in this series, seeing their love put to the ultimate test in this installment was incredibly powerful. (Don't worry, no spoilers here—you’ll just have to read it to find out what that test is!)
Here is what made this book an absolute standout for me:
Zev’s Devotion: His unwavering love, patience, and absolute commitment to Rosalie stole my heart. 💕
Rosalie’s Gram: Can we please get a novella for her own love story?! I adore her "tell-it-like-it-is" attitude. It was fantastic to see her play such a major role here after loving her in Green Card Christmas.
The Emotional Depth: The author captured the raw, messy feelings of going through a traumatic experience so beautifully. It was a privilege to go on this deep journey of self-discovery alongside Rosalie.
The Ultimate Friend Group: The unbreakable bonds between Rosalie and the friends we’ve grown to love over the last three books are unmatched.
This is a romance, but it’s definitely not your typical love story. While it is a beautifully written testament to falling in love, staying in love, and fighting through life's hardest moments together, it is equally a love story about the friends who become your chosen family.

Full disclosure 😂 I RARLEY read the summaries of books when they’re written by an author I love. Jen Atkinson is one of them who I go blindly into and y’all 🙈 THIS BOOK WRECKED ME 😭 in the best way though 💖 I don’t know how each book has gotten better and better but this series will forever be a favorite of mine 🥹 go Red Tails ⚽️
Rosalie. After watching her healing in the first three book, reading about her going through it AGAIN was amazing (I say while sobbing) 😭 my goodness it was evil genius truly 😭 her internal monologue was PEAK 💖 Sassy, humorous, but also frightened and confused ❤️🩹 I loved watching her slowly open back up to her past and overcome the huge challenge of her amnesia 😭
Zev. The absolute perfect MMC. In the first three books Zev has been a rock to their friend group 🥹 watching his patience (and impatience because let’s be so real mans is struggling) with Rosalie was beautiful 😭 and I LOVED watching him fall in love with her again in a different, but special way 😭
The entire premise of this book literally shook me to my core and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since finishing 💖 the culmination of just everything in the series and the way it was presented gave one of the best payouts 😭 and GUYS just 😭😭😭 I just love love and I also love Rose’s grandma 😂 she’s an icon.

WOW! This book was so, so good. I cried, I laughed, I got angry, I got sad, and I cried some more.
Jen outdid herself with this book. It's incredible how she wove past and present timelines and had a dual POV book.
I went into this book blind (didn't read the blurb) and I think it made it that much better. Having no idea how this book would play out was perfect. I had read the first 3 books so I was well aquatinted with Zev and Rosalie. Getting to finally read their story was the perfect ending to this series.
While this book is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. But I definitely recommend reading the others to fully appreciate our MCs.
I'm not going to list any of my favorite parts because I had many and I don't want to give any hints; that's how much I recommend going in blind to reading this book.
Also, get the bonus scene. You seriously don't want to miss out in this bonus chapter. 🥹

Oh. My. Heart! I love Jen Atkinson, I adore her books, and the Just a Guy With a Goal series has been so delightful! However, I did not expect this book to break my heart into little pieces and put it back together again, and yet here we are. And I loved every second of it!!
Zev and Rosalie are 100% meant to be, despite the trials they were currently forced to endure. I love how their souls knew each other and were drawn together even when it didn’t always make sense to Rosalie. Zev was the sweetest, most patient man ever and his love for Rose was incredible!
I loved their history together, the flashbacks in time, their love of books, their friends, Grammy, how Zev called her “my girl,” their healing, how he took care of of her and protected her, and that they got a second chance at love.
I could NOT put this one down! You want to add it to your TBR right now!!

This is the fourth book in the Just A Guy With A Goal series. I have loved every single book in this series and was so excited to read this one! I went in totally blind like I do with most books these days from authors I love and know I can trust. I’m so glad I did because this was such a surprise! It has a trope in it that I don’t read about often but it has been becoming one of my favorite ones!
Now this book was so much more emotional than the other books in the series! I really enjoyed that but, it was still lighthearted and had lots of funny moments. I was just rooting for Rosalie and Zev from the beginning! Especially Zev gosh I felt for him so much! The way he loved Rosalie had me swooning so hard for him! I felt for Rosalie too and what she was going through! That Benadryl scene was hilarious and it made me think of one of my favorite movie romcoms Hitch! There were so many good moments in this one! I love also seeing the appearance of our previous couples in this book too! I’m sad this is the last book in this series because I have truly loved it so much and it has become my favorite series from Jen Atkinson!
Overall I just had the best time reading this one! I laughed, giggled, kicked my feet, and teared up! I highly recommend this book and all the books in this series!

When I say I want a romance that is going to break me, but slowly build me back up and put me back together this is exactly what I mean. You can tell that Jen put so much love and care into Zev and Rosalie's story.
Amensia is a trope in my opinion that can be really messed up, and messed up easily.. BUT Jen really did a great job. I loved the dual timeline story construction that really gave the reader a chance at seeing the relationship grow then and now, side by side. I LOVED that we got Zev's point of view. A lot of the time, amnesia trope is a single POV, which is fine, but I loved seeing the push and pull of Zev's heart throughout this story. It really gave me so much more love for him as a character.
THE ROMANCE. While he had a leg up in allowing Rosalie to get to know him, he truly let the romance grow organically. I was truly so proud of them BOTH by the end of this story.
Chapter 15. That's an entire review point. Just that, that's it.
I loved this. The book felt like a warm hug by your people after a good cry in the absolute best way possible. Jen's writing is some of my favorite writing that I've read. It's engaging, detailed, easy to read and the flow is so well done. She takes such care of tougher topics, while always keeping the books on the more lighthearted side.
You Again is my favorite book in the series thus far. Can't rave enough about it!

It's engaging, detailed, easy to read and the flow is so well done. She takes such care of tougher topics, while always keeping the books on the more lighthearted side.

When Zev and Rosalie are in a car accident he gets a broken leg and surgery. She gets amnesia. This was a heartbreakingly beautiful story of Rosie finding her way back to Zev. There were enough light moments to balance the heavy, even if it did make me cry.

I’ve been a HUGE fan of Jen Atkinson’s for a while now and didn’t even bother to read the book description before diving into this one. Imagine my surprise when I realized the main trope after a couple of chapters in–SOLD! Not only can it be a tricky one, but Atkinson writes it so well.
Zev and Rosalie are the perfect couple. Not only is their relationship emotional, but it’s the absolute sweetest, swooniest, most heart-wrenching, and adorable one ever, and I appreciated every single moment with them. Zev is pure gold!
Chapters alternate between the not-so-distant past and present, giving this one a complete feel, but also allowing the reader to value everything in life.
You Again is Book 4 in the Just a Guy with a Goal series and I loved seeing the team and their significant others appear over and over again throughout this story.
This one is purely perfection and I especially loved reading it while “watching” the World Cup games with my husband.

Fun fact! I once took a class that went into all of the different types of amnesia, and that class completely ruined the amnesia trope for me. I haven’t read a book with an amnesia trope in years until this one and I loved it!

You Again by Jen Atkinson is one of those beautifully angsty romances that breaks your heart and puts it back together again several times. I enjoyed every minute of reading this book.
The story focuses on Rosalie as she tries to come to terms with her new life. Or rather the life she lived before she lost the last 6 years of her life to amnesia. A life that Rosalie remembers nothing about and really wants nothing to do with. As Rosalie questions everything, she starts to form a friendship with Zev. She soon realizes that she feels more than friendship for Zev. When Rosalie realizes that Zev might be someone she knew before, she isn’t sure if she should follow her heart or her head. The story that follows is full of humor, heart, hope, and love.
I adored Rosalie and Zev both together and individually.
Rosalie was so lost and so unsure of who she was and her place in the world. I loved how her friends and family helped her face her fears and become the woman she was inside all along. Her journey was so good. I especially loved all the advice she got from Grammy! Grammy was brilliant.
Zev was a dream. I loved how dedicated and true he was to Rosalie. I have never been attracted to redheads, probably because I am a redhead myself, but Atkinson made me rethink this stance with Zev. He was really the whole package—sweet on the inside and a smoke show on the outside. I was rooting for him from page 1.

I skipped the last two books in the series to read this one. That's exactly how excited I was- for a fun, light-hearted book, with *some* heavy themes like amnesia. So, one can imagine my surprise when I realized that this would be completely devastating.
Left with retrograde amnesia after a car accident, Rosalie's lost the memories of the past six years of her life. And I can safely say, *a lot* happened in those six years. This book was so much more than a romance, because this was Rosalie dealing with the after-effects of her life being turned upside-down. She doesn't know who she is anymore, why she made some of the decisions she made, and why her life looks so different now.
Her friends and family are just as affected. Zev, who had just found his happily ever after with Rosalie, has now turned into someone she doesn't even recognize.
I loved how the book was written, and how emotionally attached I got to the characters. I wasn't expecting it to end the way it did at all. It wasn't my favourite amnesia trope book I've ever read, but I still really enjoyed it.

What a way to finish a series!
Rosalie and Zev's story is no light, fluffy tale in the romantic comedy genre, but a story full of depth, heartache and healing. There are definite funny moments and characters, especially Fran, Lucca and Granny Noreen, that add levity to the story, but be prepared to have your heart handed to you from the very beginning!
Amnesia tropes have that elusive feeling where they can suspend too much reality. Jen manages to keep this story feeling grounded through the amazing on-page relationships, despite poor Rosalie doing her best to shut everyone out so she can heal. I love how Rosalie grows throughout the story and Zev's constancy while he loves her from afar. The loss hangs like a cloud over the story, but the resolution ends up landing just right.

ok, I read this to freaking fast and I forgot to keep doing updates lol BUT let me tell you, this book was PERFECTION. I had difficult days by the end of June and this book allowed me to disconnect and relax, laugh, suffer for silly things and fall in love with some great characters. These two were the cutest there is. It was difficult for me to accept Rosalie's decision and I suffered on behalf of Zev but the book was made even better by his decision of going to her all over again.
I loved every single page and I'm pretty sure this will become a good one to re-read in the future!

Make sure you have tissues for this one folks! I did as Jen said and went in blind to this book (which is not at all like me!) and boy, I’m glad I did. I don’t want to spoil anything for you so I will start out by saying this is my favorite book out of the Red Tails series! If you’ve read the rest of this series, all the rest of the couples make an appearance and it’s so cute to see them all, but Rosalie’s newly acquired anxiety causes her to keep her friends an arms length away.
Zev, dealing with physical pain from a car accident, is not willing to let Rosalie close herself off, keeps tabs on her, and eventually gets her to open up to him. Zev loves Rosalie and with the help of her grandma and Fran helps her from making some poor choices and helps her to realize he is her soulmate.
Zev makes a good modern day Gilbert Blythe. 😍 He would do anything to make Rosalie happy and I loved the yearning. The fake dating that Zev and Rosalie did in order to help her with her ex made his yearning that much better. I also enjoyed his and Rosalie’s granny’s covert texting.
If you haven’t read the rest of the series, I highly recommend them because they add to the emotional weight of this book but even if you haven’t read the others, I highly

This was the best book in the series, in my opinion. To me it was a well-time sports series since world cup was going on this summer. When I started the book, it reminded me of Kourtney Keisel's One Foggy Christmas, which is one of my favorite books. Same trope, but the stories are different enough. I like the unpredictability of the amnesia trope, and it's like a breath of fresh air. I wanted to stay up late finishing this book, and I found myself thinking about the story through the day, and that's a sign of a good story to me. This is going on my favorites of 2026 list.

If you tell a writer what you hope for in the next book, be prepared for it to be pushed down the series… I know I wasn’t alone in being totally shocked that this pairing wasn’t given book 2, but book 4 was worth the wait!
Rosalie Conrad is a mid 20 something, elementary school teacher who has been dealt a terrible blow… she’s having major memory lapses from the previous 6 years! Yikes! She has requested that unless she asks to know more, that she be left in the dark about the missing time! Everyone respects that, no matter how difficult it is for some. Rosalie gets into a routine and her newest roommate is her Grammy! Every Monday she goes to the café to read at an outside table and lately she’s been seeing a redheaded stranger only a few tables away – but that’s just a weird coincidence. After formal intros are exchanged, their paths continue to cross, and a new friendship begins to blossom.
Zev Hayes is a 30-year-old, pro soccer star – currently injured and wanting more than the pain in his leg to heal. His heart has been broken and he’s powerless to be able to fix it! Thank goodness he has a great personal library to ease his sorrows. Zev isn’t a quitter though, one day he finally strikes up a conversation with the pretty blonde and the rest of their random encounters write themselves.
This book was nothing like what I expected, but in the end, it was everything I would have hoped for! Jen Atkinson continues to keep me on my toes with how her stories will play out and I’m here for it all! Tears were shed, mouth was gaped, and eyes occasionally bugged out, but this story was exactly what was needed! This is one of those books, that you learn to trust the process and appreciate all the flashbacks no matter what! I knew that I would love this book because Zev has been my favorite supporting character throughout the entire series, but this book is in a league of its own with how much I will treasure it! Masterfully written, I can’t wait to hear it when it comes to audiobook! Job well done Jen!

Oh, how I loved the ride through You Again. The ups and downs, the parts that made me tear up, and the sweet moments in between.
Zev was the best with his unwavering determination to win Rosalie back after the accident that stole her memories. But he also loved her enough to work within the boundaries she set for everyone. His dedication to her was precious.
Rosalie showed so much strength in this book. When faced with trying to piece her life back together, panic attacks, and a growing attraction to a man she didn’t remember, she kept pushing forward.
I loved learning about her past with Zev, as it was intricately woven into the book with dedicated chapters. I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose 6 years of your life, but Jen Atkinson draws you into the story, letting you know how hard it could possibly be while also giving you hope for what lies ahead.

Zev is, quite simply, everything. Watching him love Rosalie so faithfully while she no longer remembered the life they had built together was both beautiful and devastating. Jen Atkinson did an incredible job portraying the pain both characters experienced. Rosalie is trying to figure out who she is, while Zev is forced to watch the love of his life struggle, knowing there is nothing he can do to fix it.

As much as I have loved this series, Just a Guy with a Goal, this book tops them all. You could read it without having read the others and fully enjoy it, but you will end out wanting to read the others as well. You might as well read them in order.
If you like:
*light sports romances
*amnesia (I would have said no if asked- just being honest)
*second chances to love
*anxiety representation
*banter (Yes, please)
*heart breaking and heart warming moments (heart break is usually a no for me!)
*fun and spunky Granny (life goals)
*friends that are more like family
...then you are in for a treat.
If any of this catches your interest, or if you trust me at all- just read it. There will be tears shed, but also celebrations. There will be full laughter and so many 'awww' moments, there will be times you scream into your pillow (if it's 1:00 am like me) and at the end you will know that it is just an overall great story. It feels real and important.
I can't say much more without spoilers so I will leave you with some quotes. I- an avid blurb reader by nature, went into this one blind on purpose. I was glad I did, it made the surprises actually surprise me.

-Oh my friends, when I say this is a must read story, it truly is! First and foremost most, go into this story blind. Naturally, my first instinct is to read the blurb first but, in this particular case, I took the recommendation to just jump in! Also, keep in mind while this is a stand alone, I also recommend reading this series in order for most satisfaction because the characters are wonderful.
Jumping in for me with this story brought me more unexpected satisfaction and delight. Its ability to take me on an unforgettable adventure of both the heart and mind was a delight. I adored the characters, the humor blended so delightfully amid tender and heartfelt, tender moments. You see, without spoiling or giving too much away, this story emphasizes that love is complicated. There is not an exact rhyme or reason, no set time table. However, when you find it, you don’t let go, you embrace, you hold on tightly through the ups and downs, through the highs and lows, and you don’t give up on it. It is embedded within patience, kindness, devotion, and to trust, to hope, and to endure any storm! It is simply worth the struggle, kicks, winds, or storms.
This dear story is weaved in such a way that it feels real, important, and relatable. There were will be all the feels so buckle and hold on. It was able to take me beyond what I could have imagined before hand. Infused so wonderfully with hope, humor, and heart, makes this dear story worth the read!📚🩷💯

Let me just say this: the amnesia trope is my absolute favorite romance trope. Unfortunately, it's also one of the hardest to pull off because it's so easy for the story to fall apart. But Jen Atkinson reminded me exactly why I love this trope so much.
Rosalie wakes up after an accident with the last six years of her life completely erased. Confused and overwhelmed, she struggles with constant anxiety as she tries to make sense of a life she can't remember. Hoping for a fresh start, she moves to a small town where she becomes a regular at a local café. There, she meets Zev, and the two slowly build a friendship. In Rosalie's mind, she's still in love with the man she remembers—who, unbeknownst to her, turns out to be a toxic ex—so friendship is all she believes she can offer Zev.
Then comes the heartbreaking twist: Zev isn't just a new friend. He and Rosalie were dating and even engaged before her accident. Unable to imagine a life without her, Zev chooses to pursue this new version of Rosalie, not by forcing her to remember their past, but by patiently giving her the chance to fall in love with him all over again. To me, that's what true love looks like. He's kind, patient, emotionally open, and never once pressures Rosalie into becoming the person she used to be.
Watching them rediscover their love was an emotional roller coaster. Their journey is messy, heartbreaking, hopeful, and beautifully written. Even as a clean romance, the emotional depth never felt lacking. You can feel how deeply Zev loves Rosalie in every interaction, and despite her memory loss, it feels as though Rosalie recognizes him on a soul-deep level. Her mind may have forgotten him, but her heart never truly did.
If I could give this book more than five stars, I absolutely would.

I’m having a hard time coming up with my thoughts for YOU AGAIN. I went in it without reading the blurb and I would recommend you do the same! YOU AGAIN is a wonderful way to wrap up the Just a Guy With a Goal series because we’ve know Zev and Rosalie for a very long time!
YOU AGAIN has it all - moments that made me laugh, tender scenes that made me cry, wonderful friends that stick by you no matter what and a romance that stands the test of time. Zev and Rosalie’s story tugged at my heart. Rosalie is struggling and everyone is there for her, if she would just let them be. Zev was so patient and I genuinely ached for him. The pull they had towards each other left me with the hope that things were going to work out for them. Their journey is heartbreaking, tender, and beautiful. Their story proves time truly can heal, and love can be risky but worth all the ups and downs of life with the right person. YOU AGAIN is an emotionally deep romance that is unforgettable and will stay with you for a very long time! A must read!

Simply put, wow! With each new book in this series, I have found myself more and more convinced that this is Jen Atkinson's very best yet and couldn't possibly get any better... but she most certainly saved the best for last with this one. Zev and Rosalie's story captivated me from the very first page and held me right through to the end. It was tender and heartbreaking at times... and oh so beautifully done. Seeing them find their way back to each other... oh my heart... I loved them so much. I'll be honest, when I know I like an author's writing, I more often than not skip reading the blurb... and I have to say that going into this one blind only made that reading experience so much better and I highly recommend doing the same. Skip the blurb, skip any spoilers, skip looking into ALL the tropes and just let this one surprise you... it'll be worth it, I promise! While I won't say much to avoid giving anything away, I will say that this one takes on a trope that isn't a favorite for many people- in large part because it's one that can be really hard to pull off well. But this one truly might be one of the best takes on it I've ever read. Definitely a must read!
You Again is a closed-door romance with kisses only and minimal minor language. It is the fourth and final book in the Just a Guy With a Goal series. While I would highly recommend the series as a whole, I do believe this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

You Again by Jen Atkinson completely stole my heart. If you are looking for a romance packed with serious emotions, incredible depth, and a beautifully earned Happily Ever After, this is the book for you!
Here is why this book is easily one of my top reads:
Zev is the Ultimate MMC: The love, devotion, and sheer heartbreak we get from Zev is absolutely riveting. He gives a whole new meaning to the word "soulmate." And if you want to talk about emotional impact? Zev’s POV in Chapter 31 completely wrecked me. Oh, my heart.
An Incredible, Resilient FMC: Rosalie faces some serious, heavy struggles following a traumatic brain injury from a car accident, and she handles them with so much grace and strength. You can't help but root for her throughout the book.
Storytelling Structure: I absolutely loved that this was told in Dual POV (truly my favorite way to read a romance!). The author also uses flashbacks to different periods of time throughout the story, which built the perfect amount of background and emotional weight.
The Ultimate Support System: The family and friend dynamics here were beautifully written. I loved seeing both Zev and Rosalie’s families and friends step up to fiercely support both of them through it all.
Spice Level: This is a closed-door romance that keeps the focus entirely on the deep emotional connection, respect, and enduring love between the characters.

This is book 4 in the Just a Guy With a Goal series. While it can absolutely be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the first three books to get the full, rich background on the side characters who make this world so special.
