Rosalie doesn't remember getting a teaching degree, her best friend’s wedding, or meeting Zev. In her mind, he simply doesn’t exist. Instead, she’s stuck with panic attacks, people who swear they know her, and the unsettling realization that six years of her life have apparently gone missing.
Moving to a new city, she’s determined to keep her head down, survive the anxiety, and maybe win her memories back from the universe.
Instead, she finds herself hiding out in books in her favorite café looking for solitude. Tall, redheaded, and buried in a novel, is almost always sitting across from her. He’s got broad shoulders, a handsome face, and absolutely no interest in bothering her. Perfect.
And yet… he feels oddly familiar, like a page torn from a fantasy she doesn’t remember reading.
Zevulun, however, has no trouble remembering.
He shows up at the Sugar Pine Café every Monday for one reason. Her. Rosalie is the love of his life. The woman he was building a future with. And now she doesn’t recognize him.
But Zev knows her inside and out. He knows her favorite foods, her favorite books, and that one very ticklish spot at her hip. He’s going to use all that knowledge to remind her of what they had, to give them their second chance, and to get his girl back.
It may be a long, painful wait, a treacherous journey, but Rosalie is worth every step.
When I say I want a romance that is going to break me, but slowly build me back up and put me back together this is exactly what I mean. You can tell that Jen put so much love and care into Zev and Rosalie's story.
Amensia is a trope in my opinion that can be really messed up, and messed up easily.. BUT Jen really did a great job. I loved the dual timeline story construction that really gave the reader a chance at seeing the relationship grow then and now, side by side. I LOVED that we got Zev's point of view. A lot of the time, amnesia trope is a single POV, which is fine, but I loved seeing the push and pull of Zev's heart throughout this story. It really gave me so much more love for him as a character.
THE ROMANCE. While he had a leg up in allowing Rosalie to get to know him, he truly let the romance grow organically. I was truly so proud of them BOTH by the end of this story.
Chapter 15. That's an entire review point. Just that, that's it.
I loved this. The book felt like a warm hug by your people after a good cry in the absolute best way possible. Jen's writing is some of my favorite writing that I've read. It's engaging, detailed, easy to read and the flow is so well done. She takes such care of tougher topics, while always keeping the books on the more lighthearted side.
You Again is my favorite book in the series thus far. Can't rave enough about it!

⚽️My Thoughts⚽️ This is the fourth book in the Just A Guy With A Goal series. I have loved every single book in this series and was so excited to read this one! I went in totally blind like I do with most books these days from authors I love and know I can trust. I’m so glad I did because this was such a surprise! It has a trope in it that I don’t read about often but it has been becoming one of my favorite ones!
Now this book was so much more emotional than the other books in the series! I really enjoyed that but, it was still lighthearted and had lots of funny moments. I was just rooting for Rosalie and Zev from the beginning! Especially Zev gosh I felt for him so much! The way he loved Rosalie had me swooning so hard for him! I felt for Rosalie too and what she was going through! That Benadryl scene was hilarious and it made me think of one of my favorite movie romcoms Hitch! There were so many good moments in this one! I love also seeing the appearance of our previous couples in this book too! I’m sad this is the last book in this series because I have truly loved it so much and it has become my favorite series from Jen Atkinson!
Overall I just had the best time reading this one! I laughed, giggled, kicked my feet, and teared up! I highly recommend this book and all the books in this series!
⚽️Thank you Jen Atkinson and Happily Ever Readers for gifting me a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
“She’s sweet, like the coconut cake we had at Fran’s, and soft, like the down pillows that adorn her bed. She is my favorite human on the planet, and I’d do just about anything to make her mine.”
Oh. My. Heart! I love Jen Atkinson, I adore her books, and the Just a Guy With a Goal series has been so delightful! However, I did not expect this book to break my heart into little pieces and put it back together again, and yet here we are. And I loved every second of it!!
Zev and Rosalie are 100% meant to be, despite the trials they were currently forced to endure. I love how their souls knew each other and were drawn together even when it didn’t always make sense to Rosalie. Zev was the sweetest, most patient man ever and his love for Rose was incredible!
I loved their history together, the flashbacks in time, their love of books, their friends, Grammy, how Zev called her “my girl,” their healing, how he took care of of her and protected her, and that they got a second chance at love.
I could NOT put this one down! You want to add it to your TBR right now!!
Favorite quotes/parts:
“The scent of baked goods may be the only thing keeping me sane these days.”
“I’ve read more books in the last six months than possibly the rest of my life. I constantly have a book open or headphones on telling me a story. There’s peace and a mindless joy in living a life that isn’t your own, even for a moment.”
“Give me all the fictional happily ever afters with semi-predictable characters and plots. Love is never boring. Or sad. Love in the fictional world never lets you down. Sure, I know who will end up with who, but it’s going to be good. I still enjoy the journey.”
“Fine. Yes, Mr. Hayes. That would be lovely. Feed me. Read to me. Make me feel like a human again.”
“Sometimes our souls know things that our minds and even hearts haven’t figured out yet. What you’re describing sounds like soul searching. Soul discovering.”
WOW! This book was so, so good. I cried, I laughed, I got angry, I got sad, and I cried some more.
Jen outdid herself with this book. It's incredible how she wove past and present timelines and had a dual POV book.
I went into this book blind (didn't read the blurb) and I think it made it that much better. Having no idea how this book would play out was perfect. I had read the first 3 books so I was well aquatinted with Zev and Rosalie. Getting to finally read their story was the perfect ending to this series.
While this book is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. But I definitely recommend reading the others to fully appreciate our MCs.
I'm not going to list any of my favorite parts because I had many and I don't want to give any hints; that's how much I recommend going in blind to reading this book.
Also, get the bonus scene. You seriously don't want to miss out in this bonus chapter. 🥹
Tropes:
🩷 Second chance ⚽ He falls first 🩷 Healing ⚽ Anxiety rep 🩷 Reader MMCs ⚽ He takes care of her
Thank you to the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I should have kept a tally of the number of times I gasped while reading this book. This book is gonna make you feel a lot of deep feelings. I read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down. This book will be best enjoyed if you have read the other books in the series as Zev and Rosalie’s story are woven into those.
Favorite parts -Zev being referenced by the redheaded man -Zev’s suggestions of places that Rosalie should go -when questions were asked -that first kiss and all the emotions there. -the soccer game
Favorite Quotes I am convinced that Zevulun Hayes is no different than Wesley from The Princess Bride, only he has a different tag line.
“You’re hilarious, Grammy. And I haven’t fallen for anyone.” “Well, you are on the ground, dear.” Fran laughs.
As much as I have loved this series, Just a Guy with a Goal, this book tops them all. You could read it without having read the others and fully enjoy it, but you will end out wanting to read the others as well. You might as well read them in order.
If you like: *light sports romances *amnesia (I would have said no if asked- just being honest) *second chances to love *anxiety representation *banter (Yes, please) *heart breaking and heart warming moments (heart break is usually a no for me!) *fun and spunky Granny (life goals) *friends that are more like family ...then you are in for a treat.
If any of this catches your interest, or if you trust me at all- just read it. There will be tears shed, but also celebrations. There will be full laughter and so many 'awww' moments, there will be times you scream into your pillow (if it's 1:00 am like me) and at the end you will know that it is just an overall great story. It feels real and important.
I can't say much more without spoilers so I will leave you with some quotes. I- an avid blurb reader by nature, went into this one blind on purpose. I was glad I did, it made the surprises actually surprise me.
"I constantly have a book open or headphones on telling me a story. There's a peace and mindless joy in living a life that isn't your own, even for a moment."
"We cannot predict the future. We shouldn't even try. The only thing we can do is live every day, the best we know how, to the fullest."
"You make sense in my heart, even if my head can't work it all out. I may not remember you from before, Zev, but something inside of me does."
"Love in the fictional world never lets you down."
"He looks so healthy, so strong, like he might be carved from granite.. I guess you can never tell just by looking at someone. No one would know I'm broken just by looking at me."
"Sometimes our souls know things that our minds and even hearts haven't figured out yet. What you're describing sounds like soul searching. Soul discovering."
YOU AGAIN (Just a Guy With a Goal Series, book 4) by: Jen Atkinson @authorjenatkinson
••I give 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
~She needs time. He needs a miracle…
-Oh my friends, when I say this is a must read story, it truly is! First and foremost most, go into this story blind. Naturally, my first instinct is to read the blurb first but, in this particular case, I took the recommendation to just jump in! Also, keep in mind while this is a stand alone, I also recommend reading this series in order for most satisfaction because the characters are wonderful.
Jumping in for me with this story brought me more unexpected satisfaction and delight. Its ability to take me on an unforgettable adventure of both the heart and mind was a delight. I adored the characters, the humor blended so delightfully amid tender and heartfelt, tender moments. You see, without spoiling or giving too much away, this story emphasizes that love is complicated. There is not an exact rhyme or reason, no set time table. However, when you find it, you don’t let go, you embrace, you hold on tightly through the ups and downs, through the highs and lows, and you don’t give up on it. It is embedded within patience, kindness, devotion, and to trust, to hope, and to endure any storm! It is simply worth the struggle, kicks, winds, or storms.
This dear story is weaved in such a way that it feels real, important, and relatable. There were will be all the feels so buckle and hold on. It was able to take me beyond what I could have imagined before hand. Infused so wonderfully with hope, humor, and heart, makes this dear story worth the read!📚🩷💯
•Content: some minimal minor language, challenges, soul searching discoveries, some panic attacks and anxiety, the use of a crude term a couple of times, mention of casual drinking, kisses only!
You Again by Jen Atkinson is one of those beautifully angsty romances that breaks your heart and puts it back together again several times. I enjoyed every minute of reading this book.
The story focuses on Rosalie as she tries to come to terms with her new life. Or rather the life she lived before she lost the last 6 years of her life to amnesia. A life that Rosalie remembers nothing about and really wants nothing to do with. As Rosalie questions everything, she starts to form a friendship with Zev. She soon realizes that she feels more than friendship for Zev. When Rosalie realizes that Zev might be someone she knew before, she isn’t sure if she should follow her heart or her head. The story that follows is full of humor, heart, hope, and love.
I adored Rosalie and Zev both together and individually.
Rosalie was so lost and so unsure of who she was and her place in the world. I loved how her friends and family helped her face her fears and become the woman she was inside all along. Her journey was so good. I especially loved all the advice she got from Grammy! Grammy was brilliant.
Zev was a dream. I loved how dedicated and true he was to Rosalie. I have never been attracted to redheads, probably because I am a redhead myself, but Atkinson made me rethink this stance with Zev. He was really the whole package—sweet on the inside and a smoke show on the outside. I was rooting for him from page 1.
Atkinson did a great job of balancing the heartache with so much humor and swoon. I loved how the flashbacks showed Rosalie and Zev’s relationship before the accident. Those flashbacks made me both so sad and so happy—sad because of all that Rosalie and Zev had lost but also so happy for how true their love was.
The ending was really perfect! I adored this beautiful story.
Simply put, wow! With each new book in this series, I have found myself more and more convinced that this is Jen Atkinson's very best yet and couldn't possibly get any better... but she most certainly saved the best for last with this one. Zev and Rosalie's story captivated me from the very first page and held me right through to the end. It was tender and heartbreaking at times... and oh so beautifully done. Seeing them find their way back to each other... oh my heart... I loved them so much. I'll be honest, when I know I like an author's writing, I more often than not skip reading the blurb... and I have to say that going into this one blind only made that reading experience so much better and I highly recommend doing the same. Skip the blurb, skip any spoilers, skip looking into ALL the tropes and just let this one surprise you... it'll be worth it, I promise! While I won't say much to avoid giving anything away, I will say that this one takes on a trope that isn't a favorite for many people- in large part because it's one that can be really hard to pull off well. But this one truly might be one of the best takes on it I've ever read. Definitely a must read!
You Again is a closed-door romance with kisses only and minimal minor language. It is the fourth and final book in the Just a Guy With a Goal series. While I would highly recommend the series as a whole, I do believe this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
If you tell a writer what you hope for in the next book, be prepared for it to be pushed down the series… I know I wasn’t alone in being totally shocked that this pairing wasn’t given book 2, but book 4 was worth the wait!
Rosalie Conrad is a mid 20 something, elementary school teacher who has been dealt a terrible blow… she’s having major memory lapses from the previous 6 years! Yikes! She has requested that unless she asks to know more, that she be left in the dark about the missing time! Everyone respects that, no matter how difficult it is for some. Rosalie gets into a routine and her newest roommate is her Grammy! Every Monday she goes to the café to read at an outside table and lately she’s been seeing a redheaded stranger only a few tables away – but that’s just a weird coincidence. After formal intros are exchanged, their paths continue to cross, and a new friendship begins to blossom.
Zev Hayes is a 30-year-old, pro soccer star – currently injured and wanting more than the pain in his leg to heal. His heart has been broken and he’s powerless to be able to fix it! Thank goodness he has a great personal library to ease his sorrows. Zev isn’t a quitter though, one day he finally strikes up a conversation with the pretty blonde and the rest of their random encounters write themselves.
This book was nothing like what I expected, but in the end, it was everything I would have hoped for! Jen Atkinson continues to keep me on my toes with how her stories will play out and I’m here for it all! Tears were shed, mouth was gaped, and eyes occasionally bugged out, but this story was exactly what was needed! This is one of those books, that you learn to trust the process and appreciate all the flashbacks no matter what! I knew that I would love this book because Zev has been my favorite supporting character throughout the entire series, but this book is in a league of its own with how much I will treasure it! Masterfully written, I can’t wait to hear it when it comes to audiobook! Job well done Jen!
*PS Zevulun means “honor” and that adds so much more love for this book!
You Again by Jen Atkinson completely stole my heart. If you are looking for a romance packed with serious emotions, incredible depth, and a beautifully earned Happily Ever After, this is the book for you!
Here is why this book is easily one of my top reads:
Zev is the Ultimate MMC: The love, devotion, and sheer heartbreak we get from Zev is absolutely riveting. He gives a whole new meaning to the word "soulmate." And if you want to talk about emotional impact? Zev’s POV in Chapter 31 completely wrecked me. Oh, my heart.
An Incredible, Resilient FMC: Rosalie faces some serious, heavy struggles following a traumatic brain injury from a car accident, and she handles them with so much grace and strength. You can't help but root for her throughout the book.
Storytelling Structure: I absolutely loved that this was told in Dual POV (truly my favorite way to read a romance!). The author also uses flashbacks to different periods of time throughout the story, which built the perfect amount of background and emotional weight.
The Ultimate Support System: The family and friend dynamics here were beautifully written. I loved seeing both Zev and Rosalie’s families and friends step up to fiercely support both of them through it all.
Spice Level: This is a closed-door romance that keeps the focus entirely on the deep emotional connection, respect, and enduring love between the characters.
A Quick Note on the Series: This is book 4 in the Just a Guy With a Goal series. While it can absolutely be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the first three books to get the full, rich background on the side characters who make this world so special.
Jen Atkinson delivered an emotional masterpiece with this one. Highly, highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a story that will completely break your heart before carefully putting it back together again, this one deserves a spot on your TBR. 🥺🤍
I went into this book completely blind, and I’m so glad I did. From the very beginning, this story had me emotionally invested, and I found myself reaching for tissues throughout the entire book
The journey Zev and Rosalie go on was beautiful, heartbreaking, and ultimately so rewarding. Their story carried so much emotion, and I couldn’t help but root for them every step of the way.
One of my favorite parts of the book was the community surrounding them. The love and support from their friends added so much warmth to the story and made several moments even more emotional🥹
And chapter 15? If you’ve read this book, you know exactly what I’m talking about💔
This was the kind of story that lingers long after the final page. Five stars honestly didn’t feel like enough for this one. It was a beautiful, unforgettable read that will stay with me for a very long time✨

Go into reading this book blind. Do not read the blurb, do not read reviews, just pick it up and read it! You will thank me later.
In an effort not to ruin anything, I am going to write the shortest review. This is the 4th and final book in the Just a Guy With a Goal series and can be read as a standalone. We were introduced to Zev and Rosalie in the first book, The Romcom Remake.
Jen Atkinson is a great writer, but I feel she out did herself with this book. I was sucked in right from the first chapter and devoured it in a day. This book brings all the emotions. I already loved Zev and Rosalie from the first book, but became completely endeared to them in this one. I also loved Grammy and wish she was a real person so that I could adopt her as my own Grammy.
Trust me, this is one book you will not want to miss.
I received an advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Quotes: "Love is never boring. Or sad. Love in the fictional world never lets you down."
"I'm nice to nice people."
"Hoping for the best isn't naive."
"Sometimes our souls know things that our minds and even hearts haven't figure out yet."
"You're not supposed to be afraid of the journey. You're supposed to enjoy it."
"We cannot predict the future. We shouldn't even try. The only thing we can do is live every day, the best we know how, to the fullest."
A fall in love again romcom and I couldn’t put down. I am so happy that Zev and Rosie finally got their story. If you haven’t read the first 3 books in the Just a Guy with a Goal series, stop what you are doing and grab them today!
Zevulun is so happy in love and has persisted in asking Rosie out. Now that he has asked her to marry him for the bajillionth time, she has said yes but because of the accident, she doesn’t remember him at all.
Rosalie has lost all of her memories from the last 6 years and doesn’t want anyone to tell her things or people from her past until she asks. Seeing the “redhead” at the table near her for weeks now she notices how nice he looks and he reads books?!
Zev is determined yet again to win her heart. Even if it takes him forever.
Some favorite quotes: “Rosalie Conrad’s life is like a novel with half its chapters ripped out. Loose pages sit in her fireplace, making no sense at all. The real problem: she doesn’t know what to save and what to let burn.”
“My nerves are like Mrs. Bennett on steroids.”
“I am a hot mess express, Zevulun Hayes. Are you sure you want to be here?”
Make sure you have tissues for this one folks! I did as Jen said and went in blind to this book (which is not at all like me!) and boy, I’m glad I did. I don’t want to spoil anything for you so I will start out by saying this is my favorite book out of the Red Tails series! If you’ve read the rest of this series, all the rest of the couples make an appearance and it’s so cute to see them all, but Rosalie’s newly acquired anxiety causes her to keep her friends an arms length away.
Zev, dealing with physical pain from a car accident, is not willing to let Rosalie close herself off, keeps tabs on her, and eventually gets her to open up to him. Zev loves Rosalie and with the help of her grandma and Fran helps her from making some poor choices and helps her to realize he is her soulmate.
Zev makes a good modern day Gilbert Blythe. 😍 He would do anything to make Rosalie happy and I loved the yearning. The fake dating that Zev and Rosalie did in order to help her with her ex made his yearning that much better. I also enjoyed his and Rosalie’s granny’s covert texting.
If you haven’t read the rest of the series, I highly recommend them because they add to the emotional weight of this book but even if you haven’t read the others, I highly
Oh, how I loved the ride through You Again. The ups and downs, the parts that made me tear up, and the sweet moments in between.
Zev was the best with his unwavering determination to win Rosalie back after the accident that stole her memories. But he also loved her enough to work within the boundaries she set for everyone. His dedication to her was precious.
Rosalie showed so much strength in this book. When faced with trying to piece her life back together, panic attacks, and a growing attraction to a man she didn’t remember, she kept pushing forward.
I loved learning about her past with Zev, as it was intricately woven into the book with dedicated chapters. I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose 6 years of your life, but Jen Atkinson draws you into the story, letting you know how hard it could possibly be while also giving you hope for what lies ahead.
If you’re looking for a sweet book, that’ll make you smile, shed a few tears, but leave you with a happy shimmy at the end, then you’ll love You Again.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Content: Panic attacks, mild language, infidelity, kisses only
Oh my blessed stars. Just when I think this author cannot outdo herself any further, she wows me with another five plus star book. You name it and this book has it. There was laughter, a few tears and a whole light of sighing on my part. I would also highly recommend that you get a snack or two before you start so you will not have to stop reading.
Zev and Rosalie are perfect characters that you will be cheering for like you are at your favorite stadium cheering on your favorite team.
I am not sure what I thought going into this book, but I can tell you it far surpassed my expectations. This author has a gift for pulling on your heartstrings, as well as crafting characters you will fall in love with over and over again. All I can say with certainty is that if this one does not rev your heart rate up, you might need to see a cardiologist.
Also, do not read the blurb, just start reading. You will appreciate the book much more reading it blindly, which is why I shared very bland details myself. Just trust me when I say you do not want to miss it.
Thank you to the author and Happily Ever Reader Services for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book will wreck you just a little bit. But know that it will be okay.
I always go into a new book blind. I don't want to have prior ideas about how something will go and have those shattered by a book. This is one of those you absolutely should go in blind. It helps Rosalie and Zev's story if you don't have any preconceived notions about it. That was tricky for me, because I saw reviews for it beforehand, and I needed to put the blurb into newsletters, basically without reading it. But I'm glad I did. And if my review seems really vague, I'm trying to give you the same experience.
I love Rosalie so much. The reader knows her from the other books in this series. But they don't know her backstory, or why she is who she is. This book shows that, because she kind of has to figure some of that out again for herself. And I loved the way the author did that. She had key moments from before throughout the book.
Then there's Zev. The reader also knows him. But it was fun to see how he handled the situation. And how he rose above the hard things he had been dealt.
This book is just so amazing! You'll have all the feels while reading it.
First of all, I’m so thankful to have the opportunity to be an arc reader for this book! Another amazing book by Jen! I adored it so much. This story broke my heart, then slowly put it back together piece by piece 🥹
✨ Second Chance ✨ Yearning ✨ Anxiety Rep ✨ Quirky Grandma ✨ No Spice ✨ He Takes Care of Her ✨ Book Lovers
Zev was the sweetest, most patient, walking green flag soccer player MMC I’ve ever read! He was so gentle and kind with Rosalie throughout the story, literally made me swoon! My heart went out for Rosalie and seeing everything she went through in the book is what broke my heart, but Jen brought the entire book to the most perfect close that mended said broken heart! (The bonus scene is a MUST)
🌶️ No Spice, Just Kissing 🤬 No Language ‼️ Car Accident, Amnesia, Broken Bones, and Surgery! (All written very well though)
I haven’t read any of the other books in this series yet, BUT will absolutely be going back to them soon! I truly loved this story and cannot wait for it to be out in the world! 🌼
Rosalie and Zev have been on my radar since book one of this series and I was so happy to see them get their story. I’ve loved their friendship throughout and it really shines here.
This book had me on a roller coaster of emotions from the beginning. It is, at its heart, a romcom, but it is so, so much more than that! Rosalie and Zev have some really big, difficult things to handle and that journey is well worth it. They both handle the trials with grace and strength. My heart broke for both of them and was just as quickly pieced back together as they navigated everything life threw at them.
I don’t know what else to say except READ THIS BOOK! It is the 4th in the Just a Guy With a Goal series and though it is a standalone, to really understand the characters before going into their story, I would suggest reading the other 3 books first. I love seeing the rest of the Red Tails and their women rally around these two and I think understanding all the stories that led up to this one is important to get the true impact of everything Rosalie and Zev endure.
think this is my favorite in this series! | have been so excited to read Zev and Rose's story-and it far surpassed all my expectations! I went into this story completely blind-I didn't read the blurb or anything. I highly recommend this! It was so fun and I was surprised at the twist on their love story! Zev is one of the best MMCs. The way he adores Rose was perfection. He was so devoted and I loved the way he always showed up for her. I also loved the way the friend group showed up for both Zev and Rose. And his relationship with Noreen was one of my favorite things! Rose was so sweet, my heart broke for her and what she was facing. I loved her character arc and the way she let the light back in. The kind way that her friends loved her and respected how she needed their support was the best. I loved how she grew over this story and how real she felt. She felt like someone you could totally be friends with. I loved this book-! read in one day because I just couldn't put it down! The perfect read to start simmer with
I decided to go into reading You Again blind, I knew who the main characters were but didn’t read the blurb or pay attention to any of the tropes and boy did it make reading this book a pleasant surprise! While You Again is a stand alone novel, having read all three previous Just a Guy with a Goal books, Zevulun (Zev) and Rosalie’s love story is that much sweeter. The dual timeline gives readers a view of the relationship as it grows then and now, as well as emphasizing the push and pull of Zev's heart throughout the story.
And what a story it is! Jen has saved the best for last! You Again emphasizes the reality that love is complicated. There is not an exact rhyme, reason, or time for when one finds love, but when one does, you don’t let go. In a society that views relationships as disposable, Zev and Rosalie reminds us of the need to hold on tightly through the ups and downs, the highs and lows, fostering a love embedded within patience, kindness, devotion, trust and hope.
As the finale in the series, You Again is an emotional masterpiece!
If you trust me and you're okay with heartbreaking stories, just read this book. Jen recommends going in blind and I trustingly did. If you need to know more, keep reading.
As I was saying—
Come for the soul kissing, stay for: 📚 Zev & Rosalie's story, finally 📚 Grammy unleashed 📚 He reads romance 📚 Off-the-charts pining 📚 Zev's mom's advice 📚 He'll do anything for her 📚 “I know my girl” 📚 Red Tails group text 📚 Heart break and hope And bring your tissues
You're gonna vacillate between wanting to get through it fast and wanting to relish each moment.
Zev and Rosalie’s story really starts in book one, so I strongly recommend reading all the books in this series to really appreciate this story.
I'm not sure I would have read the book if I'd read the blurb because I'm a lightweight. I'm glad I read You Again. It was a beautiful story that I've been waiting for since book one. If you need to know more, read the blurb.
Ok. I’ll give just a bit more, but going in blind is my go to normally and highly recommended for this one. My insides have lots of raw feelings so I’m just going to drop some thoughts and emojis.
😇Zev deserves sainthood 🤣grandma is flat out hilarious 🤦🏼♀️Rosalie was dumb 💪and brave 😍loved seeing the Red Tails pop in 😘soul kissing for the win 🥹and watching love begin 🫠again
The Rhyme: Love is complicated and Zev is waiting as long as it takes for it to happen. When Rosalie enters his life again will she truly see him or not think it’s a big deal that it’s just him again.
Highly recommend going in blind for all the devastating feels and could even be read first before the others in the series. Have tissues and snacks in hand. And maybe a bestie on speed dial. This author handled this challenging trope with hope and humor and lots of heart. All the feels. So. Well. Done.
"A shaky breath falls from her chest.” “This is why I don’t date.” We sit, both of us staring at our hardly touched Alfredo. Both of us are quiet. “I’m guessing this isn’t the first date you envisioned?” she says with a sniff, eyes on our noodles. “You’re here,” I say, and she draws her gaze up to mine. “This is exactly what I wanted.”
You Again by Jen Atkinson should go right off of any TBR list and straight to your “now reading” list! Wow – all of the feels on this book. I have been invested in this series from the beginning (Just a Guy With a Goal) and eagerly anticipated Rosalie and Zev’s story. What the author did was blow me away. Without spoiling anything, this book far exceeded any expectation I could have had. The romance is swoony (hello flashbacks!), the yearning and longing is palpable, and the amnesia storyline is truly eye opening. The author went all out on this series finale and made it some of her best work yet. Trust me on this one – pick it up today!! As stated above, this is book 4 in the series and I highly recommend reading them in order to get the full joy of the secondary characters!
Absolutely beautiful and heart wrenching! Be prepared for tears while reading this book. I loved every bit of it, even the tough parts. The writing was so good and the love found on the pages was perfect, including from Zev and Rosalie’s found family of Red Tails players and wives. This quote from Rosalie mirrors my own opinion. “There’s peace and a mindless joy in living a life that isn’t your own, even for a moment. Sure, my bookish friends have problems, but I know they’ll be solved by the end of the story. Because my books all have happy endings. That’s how I like it.” Zev and Rosalie may have had a crazy hard road to travel, but I knew there would be a happy ending. Some may say that romance books are silly, but I think the world needs more love in it and the authors who write these books (especially Jen Atikinson because her books are amazing) are doing the world a huge service. They warm my heart and give me hope.
You Again was such a fun, emotional read — and coming off In Every Chapter, which also deals with retrograde amnesia, it was fascinating to see a completely different take on the same premise. Zev is honestly one of the most swoon-worthy heroes I've come across. The patience this man has to watch the woman he loves not recognize him, believe she's still with someone else, and piece her life back together without him being able to tell her what she means to him without coming across as a creeper? Ugh. My heart. The tenderness and emotion packed into the moments where he quietly shows up for her are just beautiful. And Robert, the ex-boyfriend? Absolute snake.
The humor is perfectly balanced with the emotional weight of the storyline, and the flashbacks to how Zev and Rosalie got here add such a lovely layer to everything unfolding in the present. So good.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Was this my favorite of the series? Absolutely! I had no idea what to expect from this story since their love story had been growing in the background of the other books. I didn’t know where it would go but this took me completely by surprise. I’m just really sad this is the end of the series. With each book the stories got better and better and this was perfect. Thank you Jen Atkinson for this beautiful story.
To keep this spoiler free, I am just going to share a few of my favorite quotes from the book:
“It was as if his soul spoke to yours?” “Yes.” I shake my head. “Is that insane?”
“You aren’t alone. We’re all here…”
“And I’m worth it?” It feels forward asking, like I’m setting myself up for praise. But I’m asking sincerely, and I want to know how he feels. From him. “Yes. You are.”
What a sweet story! I didn’t read the other stories in this series, but that didn’t matter. I was able to enjoy the story still. I loved Zev so much. He is a DREAM MMC!!! Oh my goodness, the way he loves Rosalie is just the best. I hadn’t read a lot of “awwww” moments with Zev. 🥰
I’m usually not a fan of the amnesia trope, but this one was done really well. I honestly think I could handle it because I loved Zev so much and was rooting for him. I loved the Dual POV. I lost count of how many times Zev called Rosalie “my girl”. It was precious!
This story is for those who enjoy: - closed door, kisses only - dual POV - patient and kind MMC - “my girl” - sweet friend group - amnesia trope - soccer romance - sports romance
I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
