The Gaia Project is a literary mystery set in a small village in Italy. It's centered around the disappearance of a teenage girl named Gaia. Told between two timelines we capture the before and after as truths emerge & the cracks begin to appear.

The atmosphere within these pages were for me the best part. Howard has created the scene beautifully with the image of the sun drenched Italian setting alongside the emotional rollercoaster that drifts through the story & it's characters.

The characters were well developed, & multilayered what with Howard giving us them before & them after. I felt like Bree was a lost soul, I felt like she was initially chasing the feeling of her Mother being back in Italy however she was soon drawn back into the summer that Gaia went missing.

This story isn't your average everyday mystery it blends psychological suspense with grief, guilt & truths long ago buried. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy multilayered emotional mysteries alongside exploring complicated family dynamics & relationships.
