How to Kill Your Stalker

Rate this book
*Book IV in the How to Kill "quick-read" series - not a standalone

You think you know how this ends?
You’ve read the books. You’ve followed the twists. You’ve laughed at the chaos, the bodies, the perfectly timed cover-ups. You think you understand the rules of this story?
You’ve never been more wrong....

When neighbors begin turning up dead - each murder staged with chilling precision to mirror scenes from a local author’s bestselling book series - it feels less like coincidence and more like a message. Someone isn’t just committing murder. They’re recreating fiction… and rewriting it in blood.
Someone is watching… and this person knows Raya’s work well enough to replicate it… and knows her life well enough to weaponize it. The details aren’t just accurate, they’re intimate.
As suspicion tightens around her and bodies continue to surface, Raya is forced to confront a terrifying possibility: this isn’t about the books. It’s about her.
In How to Kill Your Stalker (and Get Away with It) - the darkest installment yet - no one is safe, and the truth is far more dangerous than the lies. Because this time, the ending isn’t hers to write. Whoever is behind this isn’t just trying to frame her. They’re trying to finish her.

Ok, ok, ok! I swear that there were several times when I thought I knew whodunit, but there were so many twists and turns, I was extremely surprised at the end! You have got to read this! You'll recognize some characters from books 1-3, so read those first, but you won't be disappointed.

I can’t even describe how excited I was to read this. This series started out fun, and although it got darker and darker with each installment, it still managed to keep its humor. The author balanced that so well, and the series got better and better because of it.

The main character is Raya, a successful thriller author. Suddenly, bodies start dropping in real life that mimic scenes from Raya’s books. And of course, law enforcement immediately suspects the author. But is Raya crazy enough to act out her own stories, or is someone else recreating her fiction? And if it is someone else, is it a crazed fan imitating the books, or is our main character actually in danger?

Either way, this book is entertaining and satisfying. I could not put it down, and the plot twist at the end was really well done. Raya is one of my favorite thriller characters of all time. I’m a fan of the entire series, but book four is by far my favorite. From what I understand, the audiobook is currently in the works.

Look I’m not new to this series and already had my ass handed to me once so Imma keep this short and sweet.

I loved it.
I loved the story.
I love the characters.

I really want this author to UNDERSTAND the amount of LOVE… I have.

Whispers (Please don’t come for me)

Also..

The true mystery that I needed solving was the hallway window and neighboring bathroom window…

Well done.

Five Minutes In and I Was Already Looking Over My Shoulder!

I went into How to Kill Your Stalker expecting a dark thriller, but I was not prepared for how quickly it would pull me in. The tension starts early and somehow just keeps tightening chapter after chapter. Every time I thought I had things figured out, the story managed to shift just enough to make me question everything again.

What really worked for me was how unsettling it felt without relying on nonstop shock value. The paranoia, the emotional manipulation, the feeling that something is always just slightly off — it all felt incredibly well done. I kept telling myself “just one more chapter” and suddenly half the night was gone.

The characters felt messy and believable in the best way, and the pacing hit that sweet spot where it never dragged but still gave moments room to breathe. There were several scenes that genuinely made me anxious in the way only a good psychological thriller can.

Most importantly: no spoilers, but the payoff was worth the ride.

If you like thrillers that make you suspicious of everyone while also making you emotionally invested, this one is absolutely worth picking up. Five stars from me.

How on earth do you say goodbye to this wacky but lethal crew? We've been through so much with Raya and the gang that couldn't pew pew straight; from taking care of pesky neighbors, disposing of ruthless coworkers, to teaching a lesson to disrespectful readers, and now finally, we go on another adventure and we're supposed to just move on? This has been a heck of a ride! In just one year, Author J.R. Mason kept the tension high and the laughs rolling while telling the darkest tales about people we have all experienced - starring people we know!!! And we all GRADUATED and got our certificates and now we know everything about HOW to K1ll, well, everybody (and get away with it)!!!

This was a most satisfying ending though. And if you read in order (you DID read in order, right?) then you will get a big chuckle at the end and just shake your head, like, yeahhhhh, that was nice!

Deep sigh. It's been so much fun and I don't know how to let go though. So, I'm gonna keep refreshing my screen and waiting, and hoping for season 2.

Let me just start by saying I am PISSED that this has ended. It's so many more people she can take out.... add instructions for just case. KIDDING!!!!

Ok number one as a person who didn't start off reading this series in order, please read the damn thing in order.... Or not the author can make book 5 and take you out..... I mean.... Anyway....

I fully enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the audio to come out. J.R has your ass trying to seriously piece this shi!t together all the way until the end. PLOT TWIST HOW DID WE FORGET ABOUT THAT FOOL I KNEW THEY ASS WAS A WHOLE LIE!!!!
And then in the one chapter I'm like for real you just gonna pop up like that. AND put that shit back.... how you just gonna?!?!?

I see why these authors be giving side eye... Damn copycat...

Go read this book so you know how the author really just *********** and then ******** and I can't believe it was ******************************* the whole damn time crazy.

Yeah…You Thought You Had It Figured Out. Nope!

H2KY Stalker…whew. WOW. This book right here!

Listen—I keep saying I have a favorite in this series, and every time I read the next one, I’m like “okay wait…THIS one might be it.” They just keep getting better, and this was such a GREAT way to close it out.

And let me tell you—just when you think you got it all figured out…you don’t. At all. The twists? Will humble you real quick!

What I loved most is how real it felt. Like the way it was written had me really sitting there like, “hold on…did this actually happen?!” That kind of storytelling pulls you ALL the way in.

Overall, this was an amazing ending to the series. If you like suspense that keeps you guessing and has you talking to the book like it can hear you…this is definitely it!

Just when you think this series can’t get more chaotic… it gets personal.
Book IV leans darker, pulling the story into a chilling “fiction meets reality” spiral that feels way too close for comfort. The idea of someone recreating Raya’s work and knowing her well enough to twist it adds a constant sense of paranoia that never really lets up.
Raya isn’t just caught in the mess this time… she is the target. And that shift raises the stakes in the best (and most stressful) way.
Still fast-paced, still twisted but sharper and more psychological.

I have the stop reading on the bus because BAYBEE the way my jaw drops and I look around like “is anyone else witnessing this?!” J.R. has me looking fully crazy with each new book I read. Yeah this is a thriller but the way she uses her words always seems to illicit giggles out of me then glare at the book 30 seconds later. It’s rare I’m okay with a series ending, but she wrapped this up a bloody little now and I’m satisfied. Don’t go into this book expecting to know how it ends, it’s impossible because she’s THAT good! Sit back, grab your snacks and dive into the last manual!

What 👏🏾 a 👏🏾 finale 👏🏾! 😍I’m so sad to see this series go because I loved every second of it! 🤭 As always, the writing was top tier and had my full attention from page one. This book had more twists and turns than all the backroads in North Carolina, and it was perfection. It’s not a J.R. Mason book if it doesn’t take me through it suspense wise. 😆 It kept me on my toes, gave me anxiety, and cracked me up along the way. 10/10 absolutely recommend and will read again!😁

This fast paced mystery thriller had me laughing while trying to guess who was behind everything. This is my favorite book in the series. Raya can’t stay out of trouble to save her life. I can’t wait to read the future books in this collection: 5-50, lol. #teamLinda

JR Mason never misses. I love this series. It is so good and wraps up the series so nicely that plot twist in there was wild and how they wrapped it all up at the end to give us exactly what we needed to know I loved it. She always knows how to crack me up in the most dramatic ways and I loved it and she always has the coolest characters. The fact that this is all local to me just adds to the imagination. 😆🤭🔪 what a great manual I mean, Novella series. 😆 you must read an order do not be that “Linda” and not read it in order.
