We're back on the blue world where the solo males have been given a little hope after a warlord's son claimed a human female and she delivered a healthy clutch. They have a chance at finding a special someone to spend their rest of their lives with and that is exactly what has drawn Deruk to the surface.
Itinissa survived the destruction of Earth, but she's not necessarily thriving on this new world. It's hard, endless work just to stay alive and it's slowly crushing her. Then she meets Deruk and has a complete meltdown because no one told her there were other beings on this planet (which is really a jerk move, tbh, because that seems like something that shouldn't be kept from someone). Once she gets over her fright, she finds the siren to be kind and (in my opinion) a better companion than some of the human survivors. So when Deruk asks her to be his mate, she takes him up on the offer.
The public claiming comes as a bit of a surprise, but Itinissa kind of goes along with it because the alternative is not to get to be with Deruk. And she likes the big guy. More than she expected she would after that first encounter.
A struggling human settlement, a siren who knows what he wants, and a lady who has some big choices to make. *thumbs up*

A good short read.
It was a good read, but the ending is super rushed. It ends too abruptly in my opinion and for my liking. But the start and middle is good and detailed enough for me to enjoy it.
