- "You are not a monster. You never were. You were a weapon in his hands, and now you're free." Her chest heaved with emotion. "And I will burn this world to the ground before I let him take you again."

First off I need book 3, like now.

Wow this book absolutely exceeded my expectations! I absolutely adore the chemistry between Kore & hades, I also loved that Poseidon & Zeus was seen quite a lot in this book. (Poseidon being my absolute favourite ♥️)

The ending of this book tore me into two, and felt so genuine. I loved how there is a balance between romance & action with twists that kept me guessing throughout. I kept thinking all the way through that this would be an incredible movie!

I am so glad I went in completely blind to this series because it does not disappoint! I cannot wait to see what comes next!

- “I am a child of the Lady you so adamantly serve. And so, you serve me. You do not own me. And you're going to help me."

The only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is because I reserve 5 stars for absolutely world changing books that have me thinking about them days and days after reading .. now I did only finish this today so I can’t say it won’t stay with me and change my life , but we shall see .

I started the first book Ashes and Bloom before my (current ) tandem read of Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn , and then some other books in between before starting this . I’ve been reading them kinda slowly as I didn’t wanna finish them tbh .
I’m obsessed with Greek mythology and I love stories based on it , involving Gods and Goddesses and Olympus and The Underworld , just give me all the Greek books!
I particularly love this depiction of Hades and Persephone ( Kore) and I think it’s really well written and I was hooked the whole way through.

I discovered the author through a TikTok and was immediately interested so got them both on KU and they didn’t disappoint. I also love that you can tell by reading them that the author is English based on the slang terms the characters use , I found that hilarious 😂 ( bloody hell, daft bint etc)
I adore that the FMC is the one who saves her damsel in distress( the MMC) for once instead of the other way around , as I love strong female characters.
Poseidon is my fave , he’s such a loveable goof , and Cerberus my baby 🖤
Hopefully Zeus will let down some of his walls in the next book .. speaking of which , I’m eagerly awaiting it, CL YORK ! No pressure !! 😆😆😆🖤

One wee thing , there was a lot of grammar errors in it, maybe I’m being a grammar nazi here with spelling and it didn’t deviate from the story but I was at times trying to figure out what was being said when a word was clearly missing 😅 just the one thing I’d change . But definitely recommend this series

In this book we once again follow the story of Kore and Hades; it gets grim and dark and nasty. And seriously... that ending? Oh no. Why?! And how long do I have to wait for the next book?

I loved this book almost as much as the first one. My only regret is that we didn't get to see the MMC doing more... But on the bright side, I have a new favourite character. And my favourite depiction of Poseidon yet.

C. L. York's writing style is beautiful, clean, and easy to read but not lacking anything, neither in descriptions nor in lore on Greek mythology. It reads fast and will leave you wanting more.
