I just woke up in the Emergency Room holding my billionaire boss's hand.
This morning I passed out at work, and my boss caught me against his chest.

Overall, a good book, with a surprising twist in the middle. If not for the twist, I would have stopped reading.
I saw a review saying it was a dual virgin, and that was the reason I picked up the book, but I just knew reading this, that the dual virgin trope was to much to ask for. Yea, both are virgins, but of course the H has done other things before, just never gone all the way.. He dated other women before when he tried to get over the h, but it never worked so he eventually stopped. But how long and how far he went was never informed, just that he never had the actual deed before, but that he did other stuff…
Otherwise, there is no owd, woman at the office is interested but he never spared them a glance. Some omd with a colleague that’s interested in the h and makes the H jealous, but h is not interested.
Not reading the second book, Anthony is a manwhore.

4/5. holy plot twist.

Elijah and Clarissa were best friends and in love in high school. She gave him a ring and promised to come back for him, but ended up sustaining a brain injury and losing most of her memories. Including those of him.
8 years later, she becomes his employee. He recognizes her at first sight, but she doesn’t recognize him at all. They have tons of push-and-pull moments, all while slowly falling for each other all over again.
But the mother of all plot twists occurs, secrets get revealed, and tensions are pulled tight.
I was enthralled with this book from the first page. When I got to the plot twist my jaw hit the floor and I couldn’t stop myself from binging the rest of the book. I really enjoyed it! Their tension and yearning was great, pretty good spice, and I loved the little niece too- he was an amazing dad to her.
SAFETY/SPOILERS:
Virgin/celibate: dual virgins! They waited for each other.
OM/OW: slight OM- but it’s a fake boyfriend. no OW.

The story was great, but I had to doc stars because the blurb had NOTHING to do with what this book is about. I went in thinking this was about a possessive dark billionaire romance. It’s not.

As far as books with covers featuring smouldering men on them go … this book had a plot twist even I didn’t see coming and I’ve got 3 degrees!

I found this to be a well written and interesting story. I enjoyed it very much. The characters were very alive and well developed. It was suspenseful and it did keep you guessing at times. I look forward to reading her next story.

Refreshing, thrilling, and addictive!
Absolutely 4.8 stars! Possession is my first read from Cassidy Vale and honestly… I’m impressed.
The storytelling felt so refreshing from the start. The opening hooked me immediately, and I loved that the author actually took time building the characters and background instead of throwing random dialogue at us before we even knew who anyone was. The writing style is just so new and refreshing!
The first half had me laughing, the middle had me trying to solve the mystery, and the ending got me so emotional.
Daddy Beaumont?? ICONIC. LOL
One thing I would’ve loved to see more of was the development of certain character dynamics because a few relationships felt far too interesting to have such limited page time.
Looking forward to reading the next one!

This book was so close to being a DNF so many times. The writing and editing was sooo inconsistent. The timeline had me doing double takes all the time. Self made billionaire 8 years after highschool?? Mom in a coma for 8 years. So many parts of it made no sense. But I finished it.

Oh my, lol. I’m loving this story too. It’s the story of Eli and Rissa. They knew each other as children, in fact were high school sweethearts, but an accident took Rissa’s memory. With that loss, she didn’t recall Eli or their past.
This is a good plot, good writing and a slow burn romance. Rissa didn’t know it but her family owed a lot of money to a less than sterling character. When her mom went into a coma, she was contacted and told that she was now responsible for the debt. After a period of time, the debt collector decided he wanted her cooperation to find out intimate details about Eli and if she could produce, he would clear the debt. She didn’t remember Eli or the fact they had a past, so she agreed.
She was hired by Eli’s Company almost immediately and became his assistant. After a period of time, he offered her a position at his home to be a nanny for his daughter. And she agreed because that would give her more insight into him and where his secrets were hidden. But after working with his daughter and experiencing feelings for Eli, Rissa realized she was in trouble.
This was a great book. I enjoyed it very much and this authors writing style is pleasing to me as a reader. Her men are swoon worthy, dominant and loving all wrapped into a package any woman would desire and her female characters are intelligent, beautiful and self assured enough to stand up for themselves. So it’s a good blending of personalities.
I give this book five solid stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Possession follows Elijah and Clarissa, two characters with a long and complicated history who go through a lot in order to fight for their love. I don’t want to spoil too much because part of the enjoyment comes from uncovering all the twists and turns along the way.
This book leans more toward dark romance, though I would personally classify it as romantic suspense. There are themes involving physical abuse toward women, including a couple of scenes on page, so keep that in mind going in since there is no trigger warning list included in the book.
I really enjoyed the emotional ups and downs of the story and the slow-burn romance. The pacing worked well for me because it built tension without feeling painfully slow. I also had fun trying to figure out where the story was heading.
That said, there were a few places where the story fell a little flat for me emotionally, which kept it from being a full 4-star read. Overall though, this was an entertaining romantic suspense with drama, emotion, and plenty of twists.

TW for abuse. I almost DNF after Chapter 1, where this guy is described as some good-looking, god-like, power-hungry, controlling, abusive to his staff, and all the women practically drool over him when he walks by. He's a verbally abusive #1 as*hole. There's some dark reason why she has worked for him for nearly 3 years.
Then, in Chapter 2, she spills coffee on his desk; tries to clean it up expecting the wrath of God to come down on her. She winds up on her knees on the floor, looking up at him, in the position for a BJ, when somebody else walks in. Then she calls him 'Daddy'. OMG, this is so bad.
Next she's in a restaurant meeting her ex 'to talk' and we learn he's another abusive jerk. Her boss rescues her from him. Then berates her for being with him. It gets worse.
This is such a bad story. DNF

inconsistent but predictable
I dnf’ed this.
MMC is made out to be this evil boss who fires people willy nilly. But the FMC who’s worked for him for only a few months has made a ton of mistakes yet still didn’t get fired? Why isn’t everyone wondering why she hadn’t been fired?
And why is she accompanying him to important meetings if she’s not the senior assistant?
FMC was really unlikable for me. Also I wonder how she’s able to know the kid supplying cookies to the school if she’s at her work the whole time? Make it make sense🙄
So yeaaaaah. Kudos to the author for churning out a book but this is not for me.

Editing needs work
One pet peeve is the editing. On one page the little girl is MMC sisters daughter and the next page the little girl is calling him daddy. Either the editing is screwed up or brother and sister have a sick relationship. Nothing is explained. MFC is a damn whimp. Okay she can be scared of her boss but she's being portrayed like some slave girl whose going to be whipped. Oh and the blurb on the book gives a totally different impression to actually what the book is. I couldn't even finish.

Well, I'll admit this isn't my usual kind of book, but the premise caught my attention. A personal assistant passes out, and her billionaire boss tells the ER she's his wife? That's quite a way to start a story. It's a quick, fun read dramatic and a bit over the top, but entertaining. The tension between them crackles, and you find yourself rooting for the assistant, whose life has been falling apart. A nice escape for an afternoon.

I thought I was going to love this, in fact, I did love it for a time. Then a turn of e events happened and it left me with an ick I couldn’t shake. I went from thoroughly enjoying a character to icking out over them.

I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked this action, drama, mystery & romantic filled story of Elijah & Clarissa’s lives. Connected to the characters and was along for their wild filled adventures & love story!

The middle story-turn caught me totally off guard. I had to take a breath. Being mad at a character was not going to change their story which I realized I didn’t even know yet. Great and unexpected arc to this book. So grateful for the perfect resolution. Loved, loved the ending.

Great book! Kind of wished it stayed with the business job aspect throughout the whole book. Virgins on both sides is something I didn't expect. Pretty sure she still doesn't remember who he is or how special she is to him in the end.

This book is brilliantly written Cassidy is a new to me author, I will definately be reading more by her. Great storyline - it is riveting, exciting, full of angst and genuine feelings.
