June 16, 2026I thought maybe it would move back to the FMC perceived the world, and it did. Sort of. But it also started adding in mean girl tropes and other weird things. The schooling doesn't make sense. Especially since she said she was uneducated in the 1st book and then starts comparing her previous education (which she claims to not have had) with this one. There's no info on any of the realms. Why the classest attitude about any help you receive in a war doesn't make sense. These beings are magic, use magic, live in societies I'm assuming are based on magic. Why are only a handful summoned to this war when they could completely end it in a moment. Why the mystery "the Trinity is the bringer of the apocalypse" cult? Why can't magical beings support their own existence in this realm? In fact, why can't they cross over at any time? I'm going to assume the realms are connected in some way so why wouldn't they want the human realm to beat back the Void. And what is the Void? Is it a realm? A being? A nothingness that consumes? No clue. For a backwater bumpkin who knew nothing of manaborn she sure knew classifications of beings and what they were on sight. So much just didn't come together cohesively. So many contradictions. I gave up before I hit 20%.

I hate to dis on this but… nothing happened in this book.
If you’re going to put RH in the actual title of a book perhaps we could have the mates IN THE BOOK?
I don’t even remember their names. They basically have no role in the book at all and we don’t know anything about them, their personalities, where they’re from, families.. nada!
There was this section where it explains she’s been meeting with them at night and getting to know them., awesome! Can WE get to know them too??
Long descriptions of decorations for the ball but no room for a little insight into her mates?
This was super disappointing.

So much repetition, why? Just why?
I really wanted to like this but I don't care for TSTL.
I adored book one, this didn't feel like a whole book more a 0.5 kind of read.
Nothing happens, it's a filler. The worst part is because book 1 was so short and this one is just repeating it all over again... It was annoying.

Lucent Academy 2 was a solid 4-star read for me. I genuinely enjoyed this installment and found myself invested in both the story and the characters. The world continues to be interesting, and I liked seeing the plot progress from where the first book left off. However, my biggest issue with this book wasn’t necessarily what was included—it was what wasn’t.
At only around 180 pages, I felt like there was so much untapped potential. The story itself was enjoyable, but I couldn’t help wishing it had been longer and more developed. There were several moments that felt like they could have been expanded upon, allowing both the plot and the characters more room to breathe.
My biggest disappointment was the lack of character development. I liked the characters and found them engaging, but I wanted to spend more time with them. I felt like there were opportunities to dive deeper into their personalities, motivations, and relationships that the book simply didn’t have enough pages to explore.
I especially wanted more relationship development between the main character and her mates. The foundation is there, and I enjoyed their interactions, but I never felt like I got enough of them. Their relationships progressed, but I would have loved to see more meaningful conversations, emotional moments, and opportunities for the bonds between them to grow naturally on the page. Because the book is so short, some of those developments felt rushed when they could have been much more impactful with additional page time.
That being said, I still had a great time reading this book. The story kept me engaged, the characters were likable, and I remain interested in seeing where the series goes next. My criticisms honestly come from a place of wanting more rather than disliking what I read. In many ways, the book’s biggest flaw is that it ended before I felt completely satisfied.
Overall, Lucent Academy 2 was an enjoyable sequel with an engaging story and characters I wanted to spend more time with. While I wish it had been longer and offered more character and relationship development, I still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. If you’re already invested in the series, it’s definitely worth picking up—I just wish there had been another hundred pages for the story to fully reach its potential.

Book 2 and I am still engaged with the characters and the musings and mechanisms of several of the characters development.
I like the combination of completely foreign fantasy with some of the everyday small encounters that shape story development in a familiarly human way. The books are shorter than what I would normally like to read but I am enjoying watching the FMC develop from the average village girl, with all the associated embarrassment/missteps that change takes as she tries to own who she is becoming alongside who she thought she would be.
I do not leave many reviews and I average slightly more than a book a day each year, but I feel like this author’s voice is one I want to encourage and comment on, without revealing anything specific about the plot. I read both of the books that exist in this series on kindle unlimited originally, but I am going to buy both as actual books even thought I have already read them.
Looking forward to the next installment…

Okay, really enjoyed the first short story that introduced us to the academy and set up the storyline that we know find ourselves in. And to be honest, I didn't enjoy this novella length story quite as much as the first one. I did like the way the author had the students bonding with the other dimensional beings, and the fact that our MC is now being ostracised for her potential abilities (with the beings that she bonded with) rather than how she was looked down upon by a majority of the students for her families lower standing in the wider community (farmers instead of nobility, etc.). However, the shorter length of the book is also what makes this not as compelling since there is not much time to really give the characters depth and nuance and still move the story on at the pace it did. Perhaps the third instalment will be longer and more fleshed out as the ideas behind it are very interesting.

I’m finding these books just a little too short for everything they’re trying to do. There’s so much potential to explore—the magic system, the FMC’s trinity relationships, the dynamics between her classmates, and the mystery—but it feels like those threads don’t get the space they deserve. This installment was mostly focused on her growing confidence while revisiting key events from book one, so it didn’t feel like the story moved forward as much as I’d hoped.
I actually love a shorter book, but in this case I think the ambitious scope would really benefit from a little more room to breathe.
Will I be reading book three? Absolutely! The concept is fantastic, and I’m genuinely invested in the story. I just can’t help feeling that the series would shine even more with a slightly longer format.

No estuvo mal, pero me gusto un poco más el primer libro y es entendible que no tuvieran mucha aparicion los otros dos parejas porque es secreto para todo el mundo para protegerla a ella
Me gusto como Seraphina cambio para mejor despues del chasco de tener un duende
Tengo la sospecha de quien la ataco es la amiga de la protagonista ( lo sospecho porque el arzobispo dijo que nadie lo esperaria y se ganaria la confianza de la Trinidad ), pero ahora dudo, pero tampoco estoy segura porque ella en vez de querer acercarse, hizo que la gente le tuviera miedo ( Trina, crecio en un orfanato que estaba en manos de los Dioses, pero entonces tambien pone en la mira y él si se hizo un poco su amigo, su instructor )

Good start to a Great story!

I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a great follow up to the first one. The story continues to build in a way that kept me interested, and I liked that there was a good balance of magic, action, mystery, and romance. It never felt like the romance overshadowed the actual plot.
The characters continue to grow, and I enjoyed seeing the relationships develop while also learning more about the world and the magic. There were a few twists I didn’t see coming, which kept me turning the pages.
If you enjoy academy settings, fantasy, and reverse harem stories with a solid plot, I definitely recommend giving this series a try. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes next.

I absolutely loved Book 1 in this series and couldn’t wait to read more, so it’s really disappointing that Book 2 was such a letdown for me.
Since this is supposed to be a reverse harem romance, I expected much more focus on the mates. They’re barely in the book, and we don’t really get to know them. However both these books are extremely short also for as short as this one was, it covers the first year extremely quickly. While the first book was more weeks. Fun series, so happy to read book 2
When the first book ended on a cliffhanger and I didn’t see book 2 in the works I was worried this series wouldn’t continue on but I am SO GLAD book 2 came out!! I appreciated the intrigue in this one and building the academy universe. The writing flows naturally and I am enjoying the pacing and characters’ friendship growth and self discovery. Looking forward to more building out the mates aspect in the trinity and hope to see more of the dynamics between the FMC and MMCs. Look forward to future installments!

book 1 had me hooked in the first chapter
What a great second book. I enjoyed the first one in a day and devoured the second a day later. The only criticism I can give is I wish more were out and they were longer but that’s just because I love the story line so much. The only suggestion I can think of is Amber needs more funny moments. She seems like a great friend but kinda boring. Oliver needs to be developed more due to the fact we don’t know much about him or his personality. But great books I will be reading more as they get released.

I’m so confused
I’m getting really tired of authors stretching stories to created these multi book sets. The first book was an introduction to the characters, the second was what? No expansion on the snake in the grass. Why not mention it to her mates? Seemed logical. Not even more character building. A shallow book that just reintroduced the main characters and we went to prom. She went home after lol. I can’t.

new and exciting
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the first two books. My only critique would be that it’s taking too long to get anywhere. I am excited to read the next books in the series and hope it doesn’t take long for them to be available.
I truly love the characters in this story and I can’t wait to see where they go.

the FMC
I love how the author writes regarding the main character. She keeps her level headed and with humility and zero pride. None of the extra drama, which I’m sure will be coming. But so far, I really like this series.

Wish it was longer....
As an avid reader, I am used to books being 6+ hours. This book was over so fast for me and I was so invested that I was sad it was over. I just signed up for the Author's Substack and I am looking forward to getting more involved with the books.

likability of the book

short but sweet
Alex has started a world I definitely want to read more about. The books are short and leave you wanting more but the storytelling is on par with a longer book. I can’t wait to continue reading into this new world.
