I love these characters but...
I love these characters I could read 100 books about them, sometimes I purchase other books to check and see how these characters evolve throughout the series but this book didn't really have a story. I would have happily waited another year for a great read. The villain was only a issue for 1 chapter then it wraps up. It would have been more fun if he escaped and the marshalls or FBI went after him and a little drama bc Shane knows the person in charge, maybe an ex girlfriend, maybe someone he was in the military with and they didn't get along great. It could have been a flip, instead of Shane's burning rage it could have been Beth at the situation and a little about Shane's past. It could have been Andrew's parents taking on a more villain role... Maybe someone in the family was kidnapped and Shane has a show down with Andrew and the hospital and ending could have stayed the same. I don't know. It feels like a bunch of missed opportunities. I kept feeling like I was waiting for the story to start and it never really did. I pre-ordered this month's in advance. I've been so excited to read this for a very long time. It felt like a lot of filler and a tiny story. I hope the next one is like the first 3 books. Those were my favorite.

Wow, I am overwhelmed, utterly consumed by the most emotionally explosive, soul-shattering story I have EVER encountered! It crushes my heart with its raw intensity, yet it shines with the burning, indefatigable love between Beth and Shane! I mean, this story drags me through the depths of despair and soars me to the highest heavens of hope—all in one second!
Five years ago, Andrew Morton bushed past every barrier of decency and broke into the sacred sanctuary of Beth’s heart and safety—her beloved medical research library, her refuge! And he DID it! He attacked her in that sacred space, a place where she felt protected, and left her shattered and broken enough to land her in a hospital bed! Oh my GOD, the pain! The loss of her shining, cherished job! It tore a piece of her soul away. But Shane? Shane’s love for Beth is an unstoppable, thunderous force so fierce, so relentless, he would lay down his life to keep her safe! He believes Andrew isn’t finished—that this monster STILL seeks vengeance, hungering for payback against Shane himself, all set in motion when Andrew’s father scolded and reprimanded him five years before! The passion behind Shane’s unwavering love is so fierce, so unbreakable, he’d sacrifice himself without a second thought if it meant saving Beth and their children!
And now, the stakes are sky-high—Troy Spencer drops an explosive bombshell that rockets Shane’s world into chaos: Andrew is heading for a hearing before the Parole Board! Wait... what?! After five years of the psychiatrist claiming Andrew was a ticking time bomb, unstable, unpredictable! And now she’s flipping her story?! Does she NOT see the danger? This is INSANE! The adrenaline is pumping, the desperation mounting! Shane, Troy, Jake, Cooper, and brave little Tyler are racing against time—scouring every shadow, every secret—trying to expose the dark conspiracy smoldering behind the Morton family’s twisted facade. Because Andrew remains a deadly threat to everything Shane loves—Beth, the kids, their entire life!
This story tears through your soul, ignites your fury, and makes your tears fall like a flood—yet, despite the heartbreak and rage, in the end, it fills you with an unbearable joy, a triumphant hope that makes every pain worthwhile! I am utterly hooked, completely obsessed, eagerly screaming inside for more stories from Ms. Wilson and the legendary McIntyre Clan! I CAN’T WAIT!

A Burning Rage, April’s 20th, yes 20th book in the McIntyre series, is, in my humble opinion, one of the best in the series. it features Beth and Shane, the pivotal characters of the series. It loops back to Vulnerable, the first in the series, and Andrew Morton who attacked Beth when McIntyre security were providing covert protection for the then Beth Jamieson. It brings the story of Beth and Shane up to date. It’s both heart breaking and heart stopping. An excellent novel, which I have no doubt will become a beloved favourite of fans of McIntyre world. A fabulous novel, excellently told. A real page turner.
Congrats April, another winner

April continually smashes it with these stories, love the McIntyre family so much. Andrew Morton who attacked Beth in Vulnerable, the very first book of the series, is being released from the psych hospital after five years. Shane vows to protect Beth at all costs, even if that means with his life! OMG I teared up at the hospital scenes with Beth, Shane & Cooper. The bond Shane & Beth, Shane & Cooper and Beth & Cooper share is so so special. The ending will make every emotion you go through whilst reading along will be worthwhile. Thank you April Wilson for another awesome book, can’t wait for the next!

Twenty books into the McIntyre Security series, and April Wilson still delivers.
This one returns to Beth and Shane, the couple at the heart of the whole series. It loops back to Vulnerable, book one, and to the man who attacked Beth while McIntyre was protecting her.
It is heartbreaking and heart stopping in equal measure, seeing where Beth and Shane are now felt like a reward for sticking with this world.
This is one of the best in the series and it hits hardest if you have read the earlier books, especially Vulnerable. This book is for protector romance and romantic suspense fans, this one's for you.
Read on Kindle Unlimited.

sad
I’ve read almost all of these books. Went from very long suspenseful reads to short reads with less plot and more sexy time. She used to do it the other way around where it was perfectly added to the plot.
And the retelling from past books is most of the book.
If a reader needs a reminder what happened in past books they will go re read that book.
Could’ve done so much with this book.
Sadly probably won’t be reading any more of her books.

Absolutely amazing! A Burning Rage kept me hooked from beginning to end. April Wilson has done it again—I love the McIntyres and can’t get enough of this family and their stories. The emotion and romance made this book impossible to put down. I love how she always weaves all of the characters back in to her books ♥️ Another fantastic addition to the series!

What a love story!
I loved everything about this book! April's writing always makes feel all of the emotions from the characters. That's a sign of a talented writer. I cried buckets when Shane was hurt. But I was devastated with Cooper's reaction and how he protected Beth and stayed with her. I'm ready for another book, April!!!!

A delightful continuation of Shane & Beth’s story. Andrew Morton, the psychopath that almost killed Beth some years ago is up for release from hospital . Shane will do anything in his power to keep Beth safe including sacrificing himself.
With around 250 pages this delightful book is an easy read and thoroughly engaging.

I was entertained from beginning to end. I've been a long time fan of April Wilson and have read all of her books but in my opinion, this is the best. It's a rollercoaster ride from the first sentence. I laughed, cried, got angry and applauded. My emotions were all over the place. It's a must read!

I fell in love with Shane and Beth back in 2021 when I first found Vulnerable. I’ve loved every book April has written but the ones about Shane and Beth always hold a speial place in my heart.

Loved this book and was gripped from page 1. Loved having an update on Shane & Beth.
I would have liked an update on what happened to the Psychologist and Richard.

I did really enjoy this book but I felt a bit played by the author, as what happened shouldn’t have happened!
While I did enjoy this book as it was really nice to catch up with the family, sort of, as Jake doesn’t speak more than four words. Sam and Cooper are acting like it’s a major inconvenience that they can’t sleep together, and what happened to Sam guarding Beth? He’s hardly in the book.
I did feel manipulated by the author. As what happened shouldn’t have, if they had any bodyguards on them!!! 😡😡😡 Shane is so meticulous about Beth’s safety yet he had NOT ONE BODYGUARD ON THEM!!! It just wouldn’t have happened like that when Shane is so protective of Beth. Also Shane had put Miguel on Beth as well as Sam when Andrew Morton was released, what happened to him??? He wasn’t with Beth, at all!!
The danger is over way too fast, and to be honest was a huge letdown. I did enjoy it but definitely not my favourite by this author.
