This review is long awaited lmao, I need to be better at doing my reviews as soon as I finish reading, but I'm here, so let's go!

First of all, thank you to Netgalley and the author for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review. I'm always grateful, and I enjoyed this book after a while.

This book focuses on Braelyn and Jeremiah, who have amazing chemistry with one another and are written quite well as individual characters. It's a marriage of convenience book, and that's what attracted me. I just love this trope a lot, so I knew I would enjoy it.

The way Jeremiah was around Braelyn? Mhm, give me some of that. I love mmc's like Jeremiah, don't get me started. They're so perfect for each other, it's the sweetest thing ever.

My only issue was how fast they fell in love. I'm not a fan of insta-love, and that's what had me so conflicted with this book. There was so much potential for a sweet slow burn between Braelyn and Jeremiah; it broke me a little. Marriage of convenience does provide ample amount of space for the characters to slowly fall in love.

Overall, this book was a good read; however, as I said, a lot could be improved. Especially the speed of this book, if it were a slow burn, it would have a higher rating. Since this is the author's debut novel, I'll give them some slack. This review is in no way hating on the book, just my constructive criticism.

Braelyn West is an independent woman who owns her own coffee shop—Westhouse Coffee. But she’s fallen down on her luck and is behind on bills. She faces losing her company that she’s worked so hard to build from the ground up.

Immediately, you feel stressed for her. I wanted to help so badly as I read her struggles, because she’s really going through it. Not only is she behind on her bills, her car keeps breaking down, but what I love about her is that she doesn’t give up. She is resilient, and I love a fictional protagonist who don’t fold under the pressure of what are very real-life situations.

I am also a huge cat lover, and she has a cat named Milo, so that also did something to me.

Jeremiah Aves is also hardworking and has spent his adult life trying to make it to the top of Crestwood Hotels as the CEO. But the board and the shareholders don’t want to hand it over to some young hotshot (and trust me, this man is hot). So they pose a challenge: he has to get married before they will make him CEO.

Fate intervenes, and Jeremiah and Braelyn have a “meet cute” in her coffee shop. And let’s just say, Jeremiah is down BAD for Braelyn. I thought many times she’d bring him to his knees and force him to beg, because this man is persistent.

The two strike a deal. An arranged marriage. He gets the CEO position, she gets financial stability. Simple…in theory. But the chemistry between the two of them is anything BUT simple. Watching them fall for each other without even realizing it was everything.

Honestly, Jeremiah makes it very easy for you to fall in love with him. Why? Because I fell in love with him. He’s thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely cares for Braelyn.

But things take a left turn when Jeremiah’s CEO job is more demanding than he expected, and unfortunately, Braelyn gets put on the back burner. This part was honestly heartbreaking because you know he’s a good man, just stretched too thin.

Still, Braelyn doesn’t tolerate being second place. So she leaves him. And I think that’s a great move because it shows she knows her worth and demands the very best.

So while, yes, there is a third-act breakup, I think the author did it VERY well and it comes with reason.

Don’t worry! You’re going to find Braelyn sticking to her guns and Jeremiah nearly on his knees for his woman, begging for her forgiveness. Eventually she does forgive him and there’s a very HEA ending, but wow—dare I say this is top-tier groveling.

We’re talking yearning, pining, begging.

If you love fake marriage, strong heroines, obsessed heroes, and emotional payoff…this one delivers.

Love this cover!
I requested this ARC because marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes, so I was really excited to read it. But honestly, I don't know what I was expecting because this one just didn't hit for me.
I liked both MCs, but I needed more from them. I wanted to feel the chemistry, the tension, the falling-in-love part of it all, and I just didn't. Their relationship felt pretty surface-level, and I was never fully convinced that this marriage became anything more than a contract.

The dialogue also felt kind of plain. Nothing really stood out or kept me invested, and I found myself wanting more depth from both the characters and their interactions. Which is a shame because this book had all the pieces to be a really good marriage of convenience story. I kept waiting for that moment where I'd finally believe in them as a couple, but it never quite got there for me.

With Stenasia being a debut author, I really appreciated her jumping into Jeremiah and Braelyn’s story WITHOUT the fluff. I enjoyed the pace, the banter, and the yearning in this book. I loved how Braelyn stood her ground and made Jeremiah work for her from start to finish.

Ok, this book was adorable. At less than 300 pages, it was the perfect palate cleanser.

I loved how feisty and stubborn Braelyn was. Jeremiah was the typical businessman who didn’t have time for a relationship unless there was something in it for him. Watching Braelyn slowly change his outlook was lovely.

They both brought out the best in each other and made one another better, and it felt so natural and well done.
I finished this book with a huge smile on my face. It was a sweet, feel good romance that left me happy from beginning to end.

This was a super sweet story and I very much enjoyed it!

I absolutely love a marriage of convenience so when I saw this pop up on NetGalley I was too excited to try it out! And I'm so glad I did! This is such a cute debut from this author and I'm excited to see more!

For my spice friends, this may not be the book for you, there was only one spice scene, and it was pretty short in comparison to others I've seen. But for my contemporary girlies, this is the perfect read!

My only issue was the pacing of the story, some scenes felt super dragged out while some were over in a snap. But past that, this was a great read!

Braelyn is a struggling cafe owner who is in need of help to keep her business afloat. Jeremiah is a business man who wants to become CEO of the company but the board would like to see him married. This is a marriage of convenience trope where it would be beneficial to both parties. I thought it was a cute story and had plenty of potential. I just never really felt the chemistry between to MMC & the FMC. Moving from the convenience to love never quite connected. So many elements were missing and it just felt rushed.

Thanks to Olivepresspublishing & Stenasia Grady for this ARC, Terms to say Yes. This is Book one in what I'm assuming will be A Tangled in Crestwood series.

This for me was a 5 star read. It puts you through all the feels and emotions, you when from feeling the FMCs pain, to feeling bad for her, to being happy laughing and then you cried. It was 1000% a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the story.

TTSY is based around the whole ins and outs of a marriage of convenience. It all started with the FMC Braelyn who is a woman of pure independence who runs her own business (a coffee shop) but things start to much for her, with stress & crippling debts as she falls behind on her bills, she is at risk of losing her business & livelihood but like a white knight in comes Jeremiah, the MMC a "hotshot" dude who has been grinding his whole life to he CEO of Crestwood Hotels, but everyone within the company are like - Nopeeeee, so they do what they feel is the impossible- they agree to him being CEO BUT its on the terms of he has to be married before he gets it!!
Then, the FMC has a odd twist of fate, and in one single moment meets the MMC when serving him his coffee at her shop!! As though its written in the stars! From the moment they meet, you feel the connection & you can tell Jeremiah has it bad for Braelyn, but knowing what I knew, I was doubtful of his legitimate feelings, but he eventually won me around, until he didnt.
It was like a switch just flipping when Jeremiah finally wins his position as CEO, and Braelyn after falling for him, is pushed to the side basically becoming second best to the company.
You feel her heartbreak, and I totally cried with her. Im like dude, you got what you wanted, dont bite the hand that feeds you a life just because you're now a "big d!ck CEO". I was fully raged at this point, but uh huh. The way Grady did the rollercoaster of emotions throughout their break up was impactful and traumatic.
After the breakup you see a side to Jeremiah, that ALMOST redeemed him to me (hes still male and an A-hole 👀😂) he had the full on grovelling going on with the ache and yearning for Braelyn, the begging & pining caused me to have giggles, as I was like "yes man get on your knees like a good little b!tch after hurting her like you did" 👀😂

I was glad to find out it was a HEA, it made all the emotionally rollercoaster worth it, I LOVE when a story breaks you apart, then knits you back together making you feel whole and warm and fuzzy inside 😂, I guess im just one for t0rment.

But if you love a strong FMC, fake marriages that turn into love & the real thing, a GROVELLING male and a complete emotional breakdown that puts you back together again and even adds a pretty little bow to top it off 👀😂 then this is for you!

My heart needed some spicy tension and swoony banter, and boy oh boy did Terms to Say Yes deliver! I am still feeling the buzz of this book after finishing it just a couple of hours ago.

Sigh, let me explain why without spoilers.

This was an arranged marriage romance between a bakery owner who is having trouble making rent and a hotel executive who wants the CEO spot but needs to prove he is stable enough to hold it. On the surface, it seems very much par for the course in terms of arranged marriage romances, but let me tell you, the dialogue, the personalities, and just the overall vibe of the book, UGH! It made this one stand out to me.

How much? Well… I was up reading until 2am the day I picked it up. I had to remind myself that I had a job and that I needed at least some sleep to perform it.

But the main characters were soooooo cute!!!!! The author did an amazing job of putting me, the reader, right in the middle of their emotions and thought processes. This is the kind of book where you feel as though you are a bestie along for the ride rather than some weirdo reading into the wee hours about fictional characters you have clearly fallen in love with, lol!

The book gives you two POVs: our FMC, Braelyn’s, and our MMC, Jeremiah’s. Going back and forth kept the pace lively, and the reveals oh so sexy. The tension between them and the realistic responses from both had me gleeful and turning pages. It was such a soft, beautiful escape. I can do nothing else but recommend it to contemporary romance lovers.

Also, this looks to be the first in the series. We get the setups for at least two other couples in this book, but I am hopeful for at least one more after that.

I absolutely enjoyed this one. It hit all my soft spots and made them glow. I cannot wait to see more from this author.

I liked the fake marriage trope. I was just surprised it took 11 chapters for Jeremiah to explain to Braelyn why he needed the marriage. I’d expect him to either get to know her better first and then propose marriage and explain right away, or propose + explain and then get to know her better. Either way, if it is a business arrangement he needed to accompany his proposal with details.
Also, the run up to Jeremiah’s marriage felt more fake than it was. We as readers knew it was fake but Jeremiah and his opponent for the job of CEO both planned to get married. So it felt like it was a challenge who got married first, which meant both knew in fact it was fake. Jeremiah’s father basically blackmailing him with the CEO job to force his son not only to get married but to stay married or else he was losing his job was pretty ridiculous. I think you can make this trope work but then Jeremiah would have needed to handle all of this secretly.
After the marriage they fell in love quickly and when Jeremiah experienced problems at work, the marriage unraveled quickly, too. I would have liked more relationship development. Jeremiah explaining why he needed the marriage deal and then them getting married sooner in the book, so that there was more time for the love to evolve, to make us as readers fall in love with the characters. Then there would also have been more time to explore possible hurdles in the relationship. Because now the difficulties felt a bit unrealistic; Braelyn feeling hurt and leaving him because her fake husband worked late for a few nights, when they hardly knew each other. It was a lovely story but in my opinion I would have liked more depth. It has good bones but the execution needs a bit of work.

Terms To Say Yes sets itself up with a trope I usually love—a marriage of convenience with high stakes—but unfortunately, it never quite delivers on that promise.

The setup has all the right ingredients: a struggling café, a high-powered CEO-in-the-making, and a mutually beneficial arrangement that should be ripe with tension. But the path that leads Braelyn and Jeremiah into their agreement feels underdeveloped, making it harder to fully buy into the foundation of their relationship. Because of that, the emotional stakes never hit as strongly as they could have.

Where the story really struggled for me was the chemistry. For a romance built around forced proximity and a fake marriage, I expected a steady build of tension and connection. Instead, their interactions felt flat, and I never fully believed in the shift from obligation to something more. Without that spark, the emotional payoff just didn’t land.

The supporting cast also didn’t do the story many favors. Rather than enriching the world or adding meaningful layers to the main relationship, those interactions often felt disjointed and, at times, confusing. Instead of enhancing the narrative, they pulled me further out of it.

Overall, while the premise had a lot of potential, the execution didn’t quite come together for me.

This was such a sweet and fun story to read. From the very beginning, I found myself invested in the characters and rooting for them to find their way.

I loved the fact that Braelyn was so relatable. She was a strong, independent woman just trying to make it day by day while figuring things out. She didn’t want pity or handouts, she wanted to fix things herself, and I admired that about her. Her determination and not giving up made her easy to connect with.

Jeremiah wanted both the job and the girl, and he struggled with finding the right balance between the two. Watching him navigate those challenges added more to his character, and I’m glad he finally figured it out in the end.

I also enjoyed the dynamic between the characters and the way their relationships developed throughout the story. The romance was sweet, and the overall vibe of the book left me smiling.

I can’t wait to read about the rest of the friends! Something tells me they all have great stories to tell, and I’m looking forward to seeing where the author takes them next.

I absolutely adore a fictional man who proposes on the first date. A real man doing that would have me filing a restraining order.

This is a fake marriage romance that very quickly starts feeling like a real one. Braelyn’s coffee shop is in danger of closing, while Jeremiah needs a wife to secure the CEO position at his company. Naturally, he proposes a mutually beneficial arrangement. Braelyn is understandably hesitant at first, but eventually agrees.

Jeremiah was gone from the start. This man fell first, fell harder, and never recovered. He was so hopelessly down bad for Braelyn that it was impossible not to love him. Watching their relationship develop from a business arrangement into something genuine was equal parts sweet, funny, and swoony.

I absolutely loved these two together. It was such a cute romance with just enough spice to keep things interesting. The small-town setting was charming, and now I definitely want to spend more time in Crestwood. Especially if future books focus on Jeremiah and Braelyn’s friends.

The marriage of convenience trope is one of my faves, so I was happy to pick this up. The premise found here isn’t uncommon with this trope; our MMC Jeremiah needs to be married to get a promotion at work, and our FMC Braelyn needs funds to help out her struggling business. It’s a match made in contractual obligations heaven.

I liked the story, but just felt everything moved too fast. There were details that could’ve been added to give the story depth. Neither Braelyn nor Jeremiah have told anyone why they’re really getting married. They’re pretending to be in love for appearances, yet they don’t even meet each other’s parents before the wedding, or do other things to convince their friends and family this is real.

And as for the third act breakup, the reason for it too was rushed. The only story aspect that was given space was the lead up to their ultimate reunion (it’s a romance, so the fact that it ends on a happily ever after is not a spoiler).

There’s a good story here, it just needed more pages to be told. That being said, I would read more from this author because she has good ideas.

Terms To Say Yes delivers everything I enjoy in a marriage-of-convenience romance. Braelyn and Jeremiah are both easy characters to root for, each carrying their own ambitions, pressures, and vulnerabilities into the arrangement. What begins as a practical solution quickly becomes something much more complicated, and watching their relationship evolve was one of my favorite parts of the story.

The chemistry between the characters feels natural, and the emotional moments hit just as well as the romantic ones. I appreciated the balance between personal growth, family expectations, business challenges, and romance. Readers who love fake dating, marriage-of-convenience tropes, and slow-burning emotional connections will definitely want to add this one to their TBR.

A meet-cute in Braelyn’s coffee shop leads to an agreement between Jeremiah and Braelyn to solve each other’s problems and find love along the way. Their chemistry was immediate and Jeremiah playing more on his attraction than his need for the marriage of convenience immediately gave me hope for these two. They were guaranteed to have some up and downs given the expectations from their families and careers and thankfully the dual POV allowed me to better understand them as I took the journey with them. I also enjoyed the cast of supportive friends and the clear potential for more stories to come out of their interactions. “Terms To Say Yes” is my first read from Stenasia Grady but definitely won’t be my last.

I enjoyed this read. It was a quick and engaging.

The story follows Braelyn, who's struggling to keep her coffee shop afloat, and Jeremiah, who needs a wife to secure the CEO position at his company. When their paths cross, a marriage of convenience becomes the key solving both of their problems.

While I enjoyed the story and would definitely recommend it, I found myself wanting a bit more character development from both Braelyn and Jeremiah. Their relationship progressed very quickly, and because of that, some parts of their emotional journey felt underdeveloped. I would have loved to spend more time seeing how they worked through and resolved their conflicts, rather than moving past them so quickly.

Overall, this is a strong debut from the author, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the series unfolds.

A cute quick read that will make you believe that love can find you at the most unexpected times.

I am a marriage of convenience girlie! This is one of my favorite tropes and this one gave me exactly what I wanted. Braelyn is struggling to keep her cafe open and is in need of help. In walks Jeremiah, the charming business man that is in need of a wife to become the CEO of his family's company. It doesn't help that he is drawn to Braelyn and could see this working. However, everything is always sunshine and daisies. Follow the couple as they struggle to understand balance and marriage.

This sweet contemporary romance will give you all the vibes as the guy falls first and the girl refuses to take any mess.

Braelyn and Jeremiah and that couple! This book is future CEO/marriage of convenience troupe in it, with that sprinkles of found family! I loved in this book, we saw our MMC graft after the FMC.

This wasn’t just stone cold CEO needs a wife to complete the role. We see their relationship be built prior to the “terms” and even after when they take a step back to realize their marriage is worth it, and fighting for, which was refreshing to read!

Terms to Say Yes is a comforting, slow-burn "marriage of convenience" romance that hits all the sweet spots for me.
I was immediately rooting for the FMC (Braelyn) to save her café, and the MMC ( Jeremiah) is the perfect type of disciplined hero who gets completely unraveled by love. The forced proximity setup was excellent the shift from a business deal to genuine domestic intimacy felt earned and packed with great tension.
If you love the fake-relationship trope and great chemistry, you'll fly through this one. Highly recommended

This was a nice read. I enjoyed the cozy vibes the café meet-cute gave, and I loved his persistence when it came to her. The marriage of convenience trope is also one of my favorites. However, something was missing for me. I don't know if it was because I didn't get to see them explore their connection as much as I wanted or because everything moved so fast, but I wasn't able to fully feel the bond between them. This was still cute though.

This is one amazing romance novel. The dynamic between the two main characters is superbly executed, and there were a lot of scenes where I just couldn't help but smile. This was such a cute, quick read and exactly the kind of book I’d recommend if you’re looking for a straightforward romance you can finish in a sitting or two.

Considering how short it is, I was actually impressed by how smoothly the story flowed. The pacing didn’t feel too rushed, and there weren’t any major plot issues that pulled me out of the story. The time jumps and lack of detail didn’t really bother me because of the length, but I definitely found myself wishing for more. I would’ve loved to spend more time with the characters, see their relationship develop in greater depth, and get a better understanding of what they were feeling along the way.

The same goes for the side characters and friendships. There was enough there to make me interested, but not quite enough to make them feel fully developed. I kept wanting just a little bit more from everyone.

The spice was well placed, added to the romance, and never felt like it was taking over the story.

Overall, this was a fun little palate cleanser that delivered exactly what it promised: a sweet, uncomplicated romance with a bit of spice and plenty of charm. If you enjoy shorter romances and don’t mind sacrificing some depth for a quick, satisfying read, this one is definitely worth picking up.
