Lexi is an American author who is obsessed with queer happily ever afters. Most of her time is spent with her two kids, but if they’re asleep then she is either reading, writing, or watching hockey.
Professionally trained as a nurse, Lexi decided to start writing when she became a stay at home mom and the characters in her head haven’t stopped talking since.
Lexi also loves Diet Coke, traveling, and Halloween. Her house is probably obnoxiously decorated for whatever holiday is next because she thinks that little things that make people smile are important.
You can find her attempting to stay up to date with all social media under the name Lexi Amber.
I absolutely loved the "bi awakening" plot here. Will is a totally normal, completely straight man who just happens to appreciate the way his friend looks in lacy panties, as any totally heterosexual man does.
Their dynamic is so much fun. I enjoyed all the very heterosexual non flirting between them. 😂The way Will spoils Porter with morning coffee and lunch dates is so cute. The totally platonic daddy comments had me laughing.
I loved the way, even though this is bi awakening, Will is never ashamed or embarrassed to be with Porter. Once he realizes what his feelings are, he wants everyone to know how important porter is to him without it ever being a secret.
This is definitely a fun a low angst read with a super smooth plot. Absolutely check out the bonus epilogue, because it is the sweetest ending for these two.
“The pure awe on his face is better than I could’ve ever imaged. He looks like a man who’s just seen god, and his god is a bratty twink in a lace thong.”
One More Dare is an MM romance novel that follows Porter and Will.
Strangers to friends to lovers. Lacrosse player Lace Bi-awakening Bratty x Daddy
I practically devoured this book in one sitting! It is a perfect combination of funny, emotional, and spicy! I loved the bi-awakening in this book. Sometimes it’s nice for a character to have an awakening without freaking out about suddenly questioning their sexuality and this is a great example. The writing is relatable and captivating.
What a great example of men communicating, expressing their feelings, and growing as people!
I had the pleasure of Beta Reading this Up & Coming MM College Romance novel for Lexi Amber & Bec Benson at their request for honest feedback on plot development, character development, flow, etc, in their writing process before moving to their next stage.
✨️I will rate the novel once the final manuscript is complete and I get to re-read it in it's entirety.
One More Dare is low angst, but high adorableness in a new college age romance and I have to say that Porter and Will are the sweetest couple to fall in love with.❤️
Will Carter is sweet, golden sunshine. The all American kid who grew up privileged, but is a green flag, full of empathy and sweetness. He isn’t afraid to step back and take a look at himself and want to make a difference or help make someone’s day better. Unfortunately, Porter Johnson is the one guy on campus that doesn't think Will hung the moon and stars. However, after Porter calls him out for an incident that happened a couple years ago, Will instantly begins making amends and instantly reflects on anyone else he may have wronged or could help going forward. Like I said...Will is a total green flag and I liked that even though he came from wealth he didn't act entitled. Will has a huge heart and was always thinking of others.
As a character, Will is extremely likable and it's certainly why Porter couldn't resist him once he forgave him. They are paired together during a school project, and even though they seem like complete opposites they form a pretty quick and tight friendship, one that grew into a tighter bond the more they hung out.
Porter is the black cat between the two. A bit prickly, but his satirical nature won me over the moment he was first on the page. What can I say, I can’t help but love an adorable, grumpy guy 🥰 and Porter fits that bill to a T. While Porter is grumpy, he's also optimally pessimistic. Yes, I feel both of these can be true at the same time. 😉
Porter had been hurt in the past and his trust was shattered in the worst possible way. 🥺 However, he still adores his friends, cares about them and loves that they are all finding love, but every now and then he wishes he wasn't always the third, fifth, or whatever wheel on the friend bus when they all went out. It is sort of how he ends up spending so much time with Will in the beginning, but constantly allowing him to stay over and snuggle...yeah, that was a development that neither of them knew how to address, especially since Will was straight and Porter wasn't.😉
Uh, huh...we'll go with that for now, since every person is allowed to discover their identity in their own time.🥰 Don't worry, Will eventually figures things out and his bi-awakening is quite wonderful as it unfolds. It felt realistic and natural and perfect for that walking green flag of a hottie.
More than anything, I love about Lexi and Bec's books are the discussions, the openness about different types of relationships, the different discoveries whether it is alone, with a partner, with a group, or so on and so forth regarding orientation or representation. What I'm trying to say is, I love that they are helping to normalize what hasn't been open and frank discussions about a stigmatized community for generations. Yes, it happens between two fictional characters like Will and Porter, but the fact that we are able to read about it, talk about it, go to entire book conventions dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community, etc...is beautiful all in itself and Lexi and Bec do a wonderful job in this regard.
One More Dare is a low angst plot; meaning it's not forbidden, or taboo, or dark, or have any of the big risk factors that could potentially pull them apart. Instead it's two men from opposite sides of social circles, income factors, and originally sexual orientation, but peel all of that away and Porter and Will find that they have more in common than they originally thought. Instead they find they can't stay away from one another and then they dare one another to stay in touch, stay connected, and stay together.❤️
I couldn't stop reading once I started, but that seems pretty typical when I pick up a book from these two. I loved it and can't wait for more in this college universe. ❤️
HOLD MY HAND IM SOBBING!!! This is what you call a phenomenal book with 2 precious beans ughhhh
This book was so good I couldn’t get enough of the writing, the way it flowed throughout, the way I just was excited to see what was coming next and see how Will’s and Porter’s journey would take me and boy did it take me on a journey!!!
WILL AND PORTER MY PRECIOUS BEANS!!! AHHHHH IM OBSESSED WITH THESE TWO MY HEART!!!
Their friendship throughout was the cutest thing and we basically got to see them grow to love each other and love themselves and etc like it was just a whole lot of love and support and just yearning for love when fear takes over amd memories of past relationships cloud what’s in front of you but it takes just one person to knock those walls down and shine a ray of sunshine to help you blossom and that is what Will did to Porter we got to see how Will slowly got Porter to come out of his shell and it was the cutest thing but we also got to see Will learn to grow and light up when he was around Porter
These 2 are just green flags all around. Just 2 ray of sunshine’s that just were so made for Each other in so many ways!!
I didn’t want it to end I was simply in love with them that I wanted to be stuck here. I can’t get enough of these 2 amazing men and hie we saw their journey blossom and it was so cute I couldn’t stop sobbing at the end they are just perfect little beans and this was just one amazing piece of art this book was everything and more and I don’t think im ever going to be the same again and not in the bad way. This book is and forever will be ingrained into soul I won’t forget this book just it felt so real and it was so damn precocious like these beautiful souls completed each other and ughh just overall perfection.
And then telling each other they are each others favorite person I simply lost my marbles.
And how they met as partners for an assignment and then ended up being partners in real life ughh my heart
And that scene of Will confessing he’s in love with Porter in-front of the whole class to win Porter over was one of the cutest scenes in this whole book I was sobbing heard because it showed how much he was yearning for him and his affection and how much he wanted to be with him and this was his way of showing I love you and that I want to be with you and you’re my person MY BABIES!!!
WILL AND PORTER FOR LIFE MY PRECIOUS LITTLE BEANS …..
Oh this was just so deliciously good! We have porter who is proudly out wears his crop tops unapologetically and is just himself Then we have will Mr doesn’t do back to back hook ups and gets drinks thrown at him constantly! Back in the day will ran over porters bike and slept with his friend so when they are paired together for an assignment porter is not happy and he lets will know how he wrong him and because Will is a giant golden retriever people pleaser he vows to make it up too Porter So porter was burned by a straight guy before he just wanted to hook up but when Porter caught feelings he was really mean so he’s trying not to let it happen again which is really hard because Will is trying so hard to be his friend with the feee lunches and the coffee and the Taco Bell after he’s drunk on his birthday and the platonic snuggling in his bed while watching a movie! Will has never considered a man attractive so when he starts to see Parker in a different light after a solo session his awakening begins! When they are on a lake vacation will came up for one day they came up with the dares to make sure neither of them is living a boring life When Will goes into the bathroom and discovers something belonging to Porter he dares Porter to use it while he watches This escalates things but Porter withdrawals a bit because he’s scared of getting feelings so after they are apart a week Will shows up with flowers! This man wrote a dare on a card and showed up with flowers!! They didn’t have the feelings talk not about what they were going to be Porter was scared to want more because Will was never a relationship guy and Will never realized he was treating Porter like his boyfriend without saying it until he had a conversation with his parents but when he overheard Porter and his friend talking about how he doesn’t feel like Will would want more than what they are doing and how no one claims him Will is stunned but needs a plan to make Porter realize how much he wants him Annnnnnd boy does he deliver! This man Will walks into their shared class and they had to give a mock speech and he does a freaking proposal for him to be his boyfriend!!! Like are you kidding me! This has plenty of spice! We have some lace! Nicknames! Usually daddy is cringe but it somehow works! LOL I love the epilogue updates! And that bonus story with the dog! Ugh it was perfect!!

I was provided with an ARC by the authors in exchange for an honest review. These are my real sentiments about the story and everything written here is respectful, without meaning to harm anyone, but to offer my opinion as constructive criticism/compliments. Thank you, Bec and Lexi, for the opportunity!
⭐⭐⭐⭐.75/ 5 - Rounded up to 5 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/ 5
Couple: Porter and Will.
Structure: 1st person. Present tense. Dual POV. First book in a series.
I'm already a fan of all things in the Bexiverse. Love Without Labels is one of my favorite series, and I love every single book in it. And not only did this one not disappoint, it was even better than I'd expected.
Will and Porter are the sweetest things to ever exist. They both have such beautiful hearts, and they complement so well, bringing out the best in one another. The story is a low-angsty one, but it still has depth to them both and their relationship. I love how Will
And their chemistry? OMG, off the fucking charts! Even during their "just-friends" era and Will's obliviousness, it was already so good, both sexually and just as two souls finding their match. But the sex is... I don't even know. After reading so much smut, it's not that easy for sex to really make me all bothered and hot while reading it. But this book has absolutely everything I love. Even the Daddy kink, which is not my favorite one, was very well done and became hot for me. The intensity of what they felt, both physically and emotionally, alongside with all that AMAZING dirty talk... Just 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 Definitely one of the sexiest couples for, and the best sex Lexi and Bec have written so far (which is saying something, since the scenes in LWL are amazing).
This series got off to a great start. If you like low-angst, sweet and super hot college romances, you'll probably like this one. I cannot wait for the rest 💕
Vibes: -College Setting -Bi Awakening -Strangers To Friends To Lovers -Slow Burn -Spicy Dares -Light “Daddy” (No Age Play) -Lingerie -Athlete X Barista -Low Angst
I'm a sucker for a college romance, and this one ticked every single box for me.
Will is the popular captain of the lacrosse team, the classic straight jock with a reputation for one-night stands and a trail of girls who've wanted more. Coming from a wealthy family, his life has always been pretty straightforward: play the sport he loves, get good grades, and enjoy everything college has to offer.
Porter couldn't be more different. Quiet, openly queer, and working as a barista to pay the bills, he's built a small circle of trusted friends and keeps his heart well protected after being burned by a "straight" guy in the past.
When they're paired together as debate partners, Porter immediately writes Will off as exactly the type of guy he wants to avoid. But Will is determined to prove him wrong, and watching their relationship slowly develop from reluctant classmates to genuine friends was one of my favourite parts of the book.
As their friendship deepens, Porter finds himself once again falling for someone he believes he can never have, while Will slowly begins questioning everything he thought he knew about himself. His bi awakening felt incredibly natural and believable, unfolding at just the right pace without ever feeling rushed.
The romance is sweet, the chemistry is undeniable, and the spice fits perfectly into the story rather than overpowering it. Will's journey of self-discovery paired with Porter's love of lace made for some seriously fun and memorable moments.
There is a little bit of miscommunication along the way, but it's really the only source of angst in what is otherwise a light, feel-good romance full of humour, heart, and plenty of swoony moments.
If you're looking for a sweet, low-angst college MM romance with fantastic character growth, a beautifully done bi awakening, and two characters who are impossible not to root for, I'd definitely recommend adding this one to your TBR.
I swear whenever Bec and Lexi come out with a book, I will drop everything I’m doing because I know they I’m going to have a good time with whatever they’ve created. I have never read any other that collaborate as well as these two.
I truly loved Porter and Will so much. They had my heart from the moment we met them. I really loved how natural Will’s biawakening happened. Absolutely perfection.
From the moment these two met, which wasn’t ideal, I just knew that they were going to be fun. I laughed when they got to do an assignment together. Porter didn’t want this because of a past thing that happened and Will immediately wanted to redeem himself because he felt horrible.
I felt for Porter because he got hurt in the past from the guy. Also, his family life was hard too. He doesn’t know any better but to keep Will away. That doesn’t work, though.
I knew when they did the cold plunge that things were going to be interesting with them. That scene right there had me giggling. From the hugging and just being around one another, I fell in love with their relationship.
When Will starts spending a lot of time with Porter, even his friends and teammates start noticing things.
These two are just so adorable and it made me want more. From the spicy times to just how adorable they were with one another, I knew without a doubt that these two were going to make me love them so much.
The speech chapter had me in my feels because what?! The way he did that, it made me love Will so much. Will does a proposal for Porter to be his boyfriend. Swoon my heart!
If you’re looking for a book that’s going to make you feel so good, has very low angst and just makes you just have a grand time, an amazing found family, this book is also for you. Also, if you’ve been wanting to dive into their books, this book is just the perfect one to jump into.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I am leaving my honest review after receiving an ARC copy from the authors through their PR and marketing firm.
⭐ 4/5 🌶️3/5
Will and Porter. What can I say? I loved them. Will's a Lacrosse captain and all-around good guy who can't figure out why Porter can't stand him. Porter is just trying to make it through life while owning his authentic self and working damn hard to get to the next phase. No more straight guy crushes here. So let's do some dares to make some things happen, yeah?
Will's a golden retriever and really just tries his hardest to win Porter over, just because he's that guy. Porter is a tad jaded and resistant, but still willing to listen and come around. Their friendship growth is so sweet and pure. The sweetness of Will and the sass and snark of Porter are refreshing and make this a super easy read.
Porter definitely had some past relationship trauma to work through, and honestly, no better friend or person than Will to make him work through his hang-ups. Took longer than I *personally* would have liked for them to have the big talks. But honestly, the way they worked through it was endearing and mature. And I do think this book is written so well, such good flow.
*Chef's Kiss* to the final speech.
I don't think they were beyond their years either, being Juniors in college. It was because of their individual backgrounds and how that made them open to change and reevaluation (will) and growing up a bit faster than maybe he should have had to (porter). Can't wait to see more of their friends in the series, hoping for a Nathan and Dom??????? But that's a guess. And can't see Casey and Cam not happening.
A fun read with adorable characters!! Love these authors and devoured this book the night I received it! Can't wait to devour more of their special characters!
I received a copy of this book for my honest review.
Another great collab by Lexi and Bec in the shared universe. This series is set in Cove Lake College and Will, a lacrosse player, and Porter, a communication Major are both Juniors.
Will is straight and Porter is gay, and also the key to Will’s bi-awakening.
Will is a straight up golden retriever, a genuinely nice person who feels guilt when he realizes he wronged someone, and tries to learn from his mistakes. Porter is openly gay, occasionally wears some makeup, and panties to feel good, but he has a past of being used by a straight guy who used him in private then rejected him in public. Porter swore to himself he wouldn’t let that happen again.
I enjoyed the journeys the guys had, Will with his open acceptance that he is into men, Porter specifically, and his gradual change from wanting no relationships to obsessively needing Porter in his life. Porter battles wanting to keep his genuine friendship with Will but not wanting to deny himself the warm attentions that Will showers him with.
The overarching story was great and the endings, the way Will shows Porter that he is all in, and the story wrap up brings the whole thing together.
It also leaves me wanting more, I feel like one of the next couples is a bit obvious, but I’m curious about one of Will roommate/teammate, and who his person will end up being. Not sure which story I want more.
I will say that though miscommunication isn’t the actual trope here, the lack of or inability of the MMC’s to communicate their concerns and feelings with each other frustrated me often. One knew they should be talking about things and then just didn’t, and the other was avoiding it at all costs.
But it’s still a sweet, cute, low angst, bi-awakening, college m/m romance and I just ate it up.
ARC Review of One More Dare by Lexi Amber & Bec Benson
At this point I'm convinced Lexi & Bec can do no wrong when it comes to writing romance. It's like they have some magical ability to see into my soul & discover exactly what I want to read before I even know it myself.
One More Dare is the first book in the Cove Lake College Series. If the other books in the series are anything like this one, I know I will be addicted to them too.
Porter is an adorable blonde haired barista who had a difficult first relationship & an even rougher childhood. He is doing his best to protect his heart.
Will is a golden retriever lacrosse captain who has known nothing but stability & an extremely supportive family his whole life. He meets Porter his junior year of college & quickly becomes obsessed with befriending him. After spending most of his free time with Porter, Will starts to question if he is actually straight.
If you are looking for a fun, sweet, lighthearted but spicy college romance, this is an excellent option. I cannot wait for the next books in the series to come out. Bec & Lexi did a wonderful job of sprinkling crumbs into this story for future books. I could clearly see four potential love interests just dying to get their own story.
Features: - Crop-top Cutie Barista/Lacrosse Player - College Romance (21+) - Rich/Poor - Kitten/Daddy Pet Names - Bi Awakening - Bi/Gay Couple - Strangers To Friends To Lovers - Sports Romance - Opposites Attract - Caretaking - Hurt/Comfort
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book and all I can say is WOW. it was the sweetest, cutest, low angst, spicy and funny book I've read for a while. So you have Will and Porter, Porter dislike Will due a n incident that happened in the past, Will doesn't remember Porter or the incident so naturally Porter thinks Will is a jerk (he isn't, it was a complete accident/misunderstanding) They are complete opposites, Porter is gay, bratty and in his words a twink. Will is a jock, staright, captain of the lacrosse team and also the biggest green flag/golden retriever/cinnamon roll out there. The chemistry, banter and sexual tension between them is off the charts. When the 'dares' begin things really get interesting. Will has his bi awakening and boy he doesn't hold back, he just dives right in, no nerves or anything. I loved them both, Porter was so bratty and funny, I also loved Cam ,he was keen and excited to meet Porter, it was so cute. Nathan I am not so sure about, there is definitely more to his story than what we got. Oh I also loved that 'Sparkles' got a mention, if you've read the authors 'love without Labels' books you will know who this is. I couldn't put this book down, and that bonus scene was perfect . I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a low angst, friends to lovers, bi awakening, green flag, brat, spicy, funny and incredibly sweet read.
One More Dare is a stand-alone, college, romance by Lexi Amber and Bec Benson. One More Dare was such a delightful read and I ate it all up.
Porter and Will are both college students. Will is the captain of the lacrosse team. Both start off with only having hook ups and no repeats. There’s a wealth difference between Porter and Will.
Porter and Will met a few years back and Porter hasn’t liked him since. Will has no idea why Porter doesn’t like him but Porter is quickly realizing Will isn’t who he thought he was. They get paired up for a class, which is the inciting factor for them to spend time together.
These two love to flirt, but they call it banter. Will is such a sweetie and doesn’t quite realize what he’s doing. Will is such a lovable guy. He’s incredibly earnest but also clueless.
They begin to dare each other and decide to become friends-with-benefits. They catch feelings for each other, but neither spoke up to the other. When Will overhears Porter, he realizes what a fool he has been and takes matters into his hands to profess his feelings.
Josie is the best kind of best friend and roommate. Such a meddler.
The authors have a knack for writing a bi-awakening without panic. ◦ The last bit of the book was corny, but I was smiling like a fool reading it.
Steam: 3/5 Fun: 4/5 Overall: 4/5
Thanks to the authors for providing an ARC and this is my honest review.
First impressions can definitely last, and if they’re completely off with no reason to correct them I can totally see how so many of us overlook others. Luckily for Porter and Will this isn’t the case. Will is definitely the type of guy who had had a better luck of the drawwhen it comes (and he isn’t to blame) it’s his circumstances, however he has amazing parents who love and support him and genuinely care if he’s a good person. With that being said college guy who enjoys a good time can catch up to him and did, until another encounter with Porter. Now again, first impressions aren’t always what they seem and I’m so glad Porter realized that early on. Will was so charming and persistent with getting to know Porter… but Porter is guarded and with good read but sometimes even a good reason can cloud our judgement. Will is so insistent on them becoming friends, but slowly realizes that Porter may be more because he quickly becomes so important and precious to him. Lucky for Porter and Will they have a great team of support who help them open their eyes. Porter learns that not everyone is going to treat him as an experiment and Will learns that maybe he’s not so straight…. I loved that they learned to communicate and that opened so many doors for them. 10/10 recommend!
One More Dare was just so sweet and impossible to put down. Will is the ultimate golden retriever, kind, thoughtful, and genuinely wanting to make things right when he realizes he’s hurt someone, while Porter is this unapologetically himself, crop-top-wearing, grumpy black cat who completely stole my heart. Their friendship starts because of a college assignment and slowly turns into something neither of them expected, with free lunches, late-night Taco Bell runs, platonic cuddles, and all these little moments that make you fall for them right alongside each other. Porter’s fear of getting hurt again broke my heart, especially after what he’d been through before, and watching Will slowly realize that what he feels for Porter is so much more than friendship was honestly beautiful. His bi-awakening felt natural and so genuine, and the way he kept showing up for Porter, with flowers, dares, and eventually that absolutely adorable public proposal to be his boyfriend, had me smiling like an idiot. This book is low angst, full of warmth, spice, and so much love, and at its core it's just two people from completely different worlds finding out they fit together perfectly.
Another amazing book by this duo! I’m really hoping this is the start of a new series because there are a couple of side characters that I absolutely need to know more about.
Overall, I loved this book. Watching Porter work through the hurt and insecurities left behind by his past situationship was incredibly rewarding. His journey toward believing he deserved to be loved openly and wholeheartedly was one of my favorite parts of the story.
I also loved Will’s character. Once he understood what Porter needed he never hesitated to meet him there. He was willing to put in the time effort and reassurance to show Porter that he wasn’t afraid to love him openly or be his true self. Their relationship felt genuine and full of growth.
This was definitely a slowburn romance but the storyline was so engaging that I barely even noticed. By the time the spice arrived I was already completely invested in the characters and their journey.
It was the perfect balance of emotional depth romance and an engaging plot and I couldn’t put it down.
It's become a statement of fact that Lexi and Bec write some of my favorite comfort reads. Even when there's angst, I always come out of their novels feeling giddy and happy.
One More Dare is just another example of that.
I am absolutely in love with green-flag (if sometimes a little clueless) Will and bratty (but occasionally insecure) Porter. These boys were such a wonderful introduction to the world of Cove Lake College, and I'm so excited for more stories in this series!
I'm really hoping we get a book for all of Will's roommates because I need to know what's going on with Nathan. And the bestie dynamic between Decker and Cam? 👀 Curiosity has me firmly in its clutches. *grabby hands* 🫴🫴
I've been struggling with eyeball reading lately, but, as always, Lexi and Bec's books are just so easy to devour. 🥰
One More Dare is the first book in the Cove Lake College series.
Will and Porter go to the same college, but they come from very different backgrounds.
Will is wealthy, plays on the lacrosse team, and only commits to one date at a time—so far, exclusively with women.
He runs into Porter at a party; Porter is a student who also works. After talking and realizing he’d treated Porter badly in the past, Will decides to do everything he can to become his friend and make it up to him.
They end up in the same class at college, and from there they begin a friendship that develops into something more.
I really liked how Will’s bi awakening was portrayed, no drama.
I guess the next one will be someone from Will's lacrosse team. I'm looking forward to finding out who he is and reading his story.
Will has gotten a drink dumped on him—again. Porter is not surprised, but was catches him off guard is Will wanting to spend time with him, like all the time. But Will is straight, even if he really wants to see Porter's lacy underwear and tattoo low on his hip. Until maybe, he isn't. The issue is that Porter has been down this route before, with a straight guy, and it did not end well for him. But it's Will, and Will is amazing. I loved Will's sudden realisation he's not straight, he just kinda embrased it. Porter really doesn't want to say no but is bracing for the end. These two could've talked more but we've all been a bit stupid 21-year-olds. Great start to a new series but I kinda want Cam and Decker's book, and Nathan is still a mystery.
🥰 gosh I absolutely loveddddd Will and Porter so much. Will being the hippy boy athlete was the best. I love his parents so much I wanted more of them in the book lol but I love how he was raised and how open he is with his friends and family. He had zero reservations when telling people he was with Porter.
Porter catching feels for what he believes to be a straight man again after the way he was treated last time had him not believing Wills actions understandably so but im so glad they found they're way.
I hope this turns into a series because i NEED to know whats going on with Nathan. And on that note there has to be something going on with Cam and Decker 👀
I absolutely adore it! Will being a boyfriend without even realizing it is just delightful. Porter is so focused on shielding his heart from the straight lacrosse player, yet Will proves him wrong.
I can't get enough of how Will confidently approaches and claims Porter at any moment. This book beautifully captures a Bi-Awakening, and I simply love these characters.
I truly hope this is the first book in a series, as I would be thrilled to explore a future friends-to-lovers storyline or another captivating Bi-Awakening.
Thank you for this amazing opportunity to read the eARC, and I am happy to provide my honest review in return.
I rate this book 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 stars. Will and Porter's story was good overall, but the first dare didn't happen until halfway through the book, which led me to question the title up to that point. At times Porter's obstinance and Will's golden-retriever cluelessness led to poor communication that was a bit frustrating to me, but also made sense in the context of the story. The pivotal romantic classroom scene elevated this book from 4 stars to 4.5 stars, so well done there! The denouement was likewise lovely.
I had a really great time with this! Porter and Will were so cute and I loved their banter/flirting. I loved that this was a slow burn and that Will and Porter got to form a solid friendship before anything developed between them. I also really liked a lot of the side characters like Josie and Will’s roommates Cam and Nathan. Im not sure whether this is a standalone or not but I’m crossing my fingers for Nathan to get a story because I feel like there something going on with him as well as I would love for Cam to get a book maybe with his bestie Decker?
This was a fun, cute read. I really enjoyed watching the evolution of Will & Porter's friendship. I loved how Will was so determined to make Porter be his friend, and their sassy banter was fun! Will was so cool discovering his sexuality and took everything in stride. It was refreshing that he didn't have any kind of panic or worry what anyone would think. I'm intrigued by some of his teammates and hope we get more from them. Thoroughly enjoyed this friends-to-lovers, opposites attract romance! Lexi and Bec write fun, enjoyable stories that read fast and I'm excited for more!
Oh, this was a quick, easy, fun, lighthearted read. I read this in one sitting.
These two authors write so beautifully together. I adore their books.
Will and Porter strike up an unusual friendship of sorts. They get along well, and Will quickly sees Porter in new ways.
I adored how unapologetic Porter was and how confident Will was in their friendship.
This was a super low-angst read. These two just find a rhythm, and it works for them. I think Porter was a pinch hesitant, only because of his past, but it quickly eased for him because of how great Will is.
Bec and Lexi did it again with another amazing story. Will and Porter were so sweet and adorable. After one night of bumping into Porter at a party Will is drawn to Porter wanting to get to know him better and be friends and realizes he might not be as straight as he thought. Porter is gay and swore off straight men but just can’t stay away from Will. This story is sweet, funny, low angst, spicy.
I love the way Will was so easy going throughout the whole book, and even his bi awakening was chill. Porter, on the other hand, had a lot going on but was flirty and such a fun character. I am soo curious about Nathan. I need his story. I have theories but will be patient. I loved this so much. The relationship was cute. The panties were putting in work, and ultimately, I loved the side characters, too.
