I loved the was this book handled grief. Elena collapsed in on herself upon landing on earth alone, knowing her parents were dead and not knowing if her sister made it off the exploding spaceship. She cried and drank and stopped taking care of herself. Lucky for her (eventually), Lukys took a keen interest in her. Their initial meeting went very poorly and he needed some sense talked into him. He was passionate, patient for a naga, and devoted to her. There were quite a few cultural barriers, but they eventually became a good couple.

An experimental dive into the series starting right with the newest one, mostly for the naga cover, how shallow of me! I read this during and right after a high-stress period, so my objectivity is definitely up for debate. 😂🫣
I liked the tension, the borderline unhealthy obsession, and the spicy scenes. 🌶️❤️🔥
I would not mind to have this naga by my side IRL haha 😏 Stripping away what we actually buy this book for leaves a pretty standard plot, but I met it where it was and genuinely enjoyed it. It also reads incredibly easy. I’m a very slow reader, but I devoured it in a few days. It might be a bit boring for those resuming the naga series as a whole, but I found some wholesomeness in it and don't regret my time or money reading it. Hope that helps! 😌

NGL I was 100% convinced the sister was going to end up with Ixi. Or kidnap her sister to 'save' her and Lukys would need to rescue her. Neither happened.

It felt a bit like the book, ironically, lacked a true climax. That's my biggest complaint. I do wish that more naga were like the cobra, open to technology and living a bit nicer than in a cave; I do not yearn for the tradwife lifestyle.

The rainstorm scene was incredibly, exceptionally hot, though. IYKYK

We're back on Earth (New Earth? New Old Earth?) where the terrified survivors of the Dreadnaut are trying to make things work on a world that is nothing like what they're used to. Elena managed to escape in her family's ship before the Dreadnaut went boom, but she's alone, terrified, and grieving the loss of her family. Technically, her sister might have survived since they were separated when they escaped, but she knows her parents didn't make it and that alone is a lot to deal with.

As we know, the naga get a little possessive of the women who tickle their senses. Lukys knows Elena is his before he even scents her. He catches sight of her in her ship and does some light (for a naga) stalking as he observes her. Then he pushes past light stalking and goes into kidnapper mode to bring her to his nest. Which isn't the best introduction, really, but the big guy figures out where he went wrong and works to fix things. Sure, he has a little help from Vagan and Shelby to get him on the right path (namely that kidnapping women and hiding them away in their nest is NOT the way to woo a human lady), but he figured out that helping Elena try to find her sister was the way to show her he was trustworthy.

We get to see a few familiar faces, see how some of these survivor encampments are...okay, I honestly don't know what's going on with those. I mean, that shield/beam thing is probbbbbably not good. Let's just say I'm not sure the soldiers/dudes in charge now have everyone's best interests at heart. Genesis-8 isn't something they should mess around with, but those in charge only see the potential benefits and I don't think things are going to go the way they think it's going to go.

An escape, grief, a whole lot of drinking, a kidnapping, another escape, a search for a missing sister, a naga who figures things out, and a lady who's figuring out who she is when she's allowed to be herself. MAN, I like this series.

Lukys makes real mistakes with Elena early on, but the way he works to gain her trust helps to make their romance feel earned instead of rushed. Lukys's loneliness and fear of losing Elena to another naga is understandable; underneath the possessiveness, there is vulnerability that makes him easy to root for. He isn't trying to control her; he wants to care for her and keep her safe. I enjoyed the direction the plot has taken with more humans arriving on Earth; it gives the series an interesting new dynamic between the humans and nags, and opens up fresh conflicts and stakes that I look forward to seeing play out.

4.5 stars rounded up! I really enjoyed this entry into the Naga Bride series. Lukys was a fascinating character, and another interesting look into the Naga. The fact that he's the only one with living family that he actually trusts was interesting. Elena was also an interesting character. Another look into the caste system that humans had sorted themselves into. This story felt more like an interlude to the greater plot, though. Enough to wet the appetite and set up the next big struggle the survivors and Naga are going to face. It was also great to meet other familiar faces, too.

One of my favourite series, but I struggled getting into this one. It probably took about half before picking up. It’s a slow burn more cute than anything. I enjoyed the MMC but even by the end, I wasn’t convinced the FMC even liked him. This one missed the spark the others have. I’m really curious who the next book will be about since we’re not introduced to any character to lead into the next story.

I have enjoyed the whole Naga Brides Series, and always looked forward to the next book. While I enjoyed this book, I feel that the heroine's wallowing in despair could have been reduced to 2 chapters, rather than taking up quite a bit of the book. I thought the characters of the two men who landed near her could have been developed a bit more.

Loved it! I live for this series! I will never get tired of reading these books, they are short, spicy, and so interesting. I love the couples and romance but also the earth/ spaceship plots it has so much more going for it than just what might meet the eye.

I liked it. It had a rough start as the hero tries to kidnap her so she will stay safe. She fought back and refused to eat.

He is sorry and learns to be a good partner eventually.
