A world out of balance. Six hearts tangle with its fate.
Ellie and Caeo fell in love, only to be ripped apart, unraveled by the truths of the past and the choices they made. Torn between Caeo and his brother Taran, Ellie must choose. But how can she, when breaking a heart could fracture the hope of saving a realm from a tyrant’s clutches?
Shattered by their vengeful mother, Caeo flounders as Taran crumbles beneath the weight of his failures. And with war brewing between mortals and fae, Emlyn and Reid find themselves adrift between two worlds that refuse to accept them.
Enter Owena, the mysterious southern princess with a gift for curses and a trove of secrets. She has a plan to restore peace, but will her own tattered heart survive the cost?
The Land watches, waiting to see if six broken lives—and the passions entwining them—can restore balance, or if past traumas will twist the future into shadow.
Book Two of the Tangled and True Duology—a multi-POV romantasy of healing and self-discovery, told through magic, manipulation, and spice.

This book focuses much more on trauma and healing than the first one, so it definitely has a different vibe than the first.
One thing that makes this duology so interesting is that I imagine that different readers connect with different characters and end up sympathizing with different perspectives. Me for example really feel like Ellie is treated unfairly throughout this book. She is the victim, yet Emlyn and Reid are so rude toward her. Sure, the situation was difficult for them too, but Ellie is the actual victim in my opinion.
I really liked Emlyn in the first book because he was sassy and fun, he was one of my favourite characters and in this one he got so much more depth and I loved that. Seeing how completely head over heels he was for Reid was honestly adorable. That said, once he was healed from he's injury and finally honest with Reid about his fears, I found him a little less interesting unfortently.
The beginning was great, but the triangle between Taran, Ellie and Caeoe was resolved fairly quickly and painlessly accordingly to me. Sorry but I've wanted a bit more between Taran and Ellie😅. Emlyn and Reid also work through their immediate issues quite early on. After that, the most interesting storyline for me was whether Ellie would find her way back to her human side or if The Land would kill her. Instead, we spend a lot of time following Owena and her schemes, as well as Emlyn and Reid on their travels, when all I really wanted was to get back to the more compelling parts of the story. Around the halfway point, that's where I started losing interest a little. I guess that's the downside of multiple POVs. Sometimes you're much more invested in one storyline, while the others feel slower and drag the pacing down.
The death of Owena's father was honestly more exciting than the death of the queen. The queen has been the villain for an entire book, and Caeo has been dealing with the trauma she caused for the entire book and that the ending felt a bit anticlimactic to me.
Despite that, the ending provided a nice sense of closure. Everyone got their found family moment, and you leave the story feeling hopeful for Ellie. Maybe a human can become fae once again?
Overall, I would definitely recommend this book and the duology as a whole. One of the things I find most fascinating is how differently readers interpret the story and which characters they end up loving.
I highly recommend this romantasy because it feels different from most books in the genre. The characters are flawed, distinct, and complex. They each have their own journeys, personalities, and struggles, which makes them feel real. Whether you love them or hate them, they leave an impression.

I have said it before, and I will say it again—Briella Brezzo is THE indie author that you need to watch and read in 2026.
I cannot possibly brag about this series enough; the way Brezzo balances humor with her effortless yet complex world-building, while also speaking to such heavy themes throughout this book, is BREATHTAKING!
Our story begins right where book one left off and quickly sucks the reader back in with a difficult decision to be made and multiple hearts at risk of being broken. Each character’s POV allows the reader to feel every hardship, decision, and victory through a voice unique to each character.
The ending of this duet was so bittersweet because it was so perfectly done— but I am so sad it’s over! I wanted to live in this world forever.
Another incredible read from this spectacular author! I cannot wait to see where she takes us next!
Briella has truly outdone herself, weaving an even richer tapestry of adventure, mind-bending manipulation, and deeply held secrets, all wrapped up in a few well-placed curses and a whole lot of delicious relationship drama. The characters are all wrestling with some serious emotional turmoil, and honestly, watching them navigate their inner struggles and grow throughout the story was incredibly rewarding., I can't recommend this book enough. It's a completely immersive experience from start to finish!
This was a great conclusion to this duology that sees Caeo as he tries to come to terms with his situation. Running away from his manipulative mother, the Queen of fae, he finds a friend in Owena, a princess with an agenda of her own. On top of this, he has Ellie who seems to have forgotten him thanks to his mothers curse and his step brother Taran. His friends Reid and Emelyn form a subsidiary story of their own! The story moves at a good pace and I like how the author incorporates the importance of the Land and the magic she evokes.
This series was my first romantasy and it did not disappoint. I was hooked from the first chapter and it got even better in the second book. Each lead has their own story and I was heavily invested in all of them. I can't wait for more in this universe
I loved how this duet ended! It was a satisfying conclusion that brought the story full circle while giving the characters the happily-ever-after they deserved.
Just like the first book, this was such an engaging read. The world-building remained incredibly immersive, and the story continued to take unexpected turns that kept me invested from beginning to end. Every new revelation added another layer to the plot, making it difficult to put down.
One of my favorite aspects of this duet is the multiple POVs. They add so much depth to the story, allowing readers to fully understand the characters' motivations, struggles, and growth. Watching everything come together through different perspectives made the emotional moments hit even harder.
The character development throughout both books was wonderful to witness. Secrets were revealed, truths came to light, and relationships were tested in ways that kept the stakes high and the story compelling.
Overall, Their Tattered Truths was a fantastic conclusion to the duet. It delivered the answers I was hoping for, gave the characters a well-earned HEA, and left me completely satisfied with their journey. A wonderful ending to a story that kept me hooked from the very beginning. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
ARC reader review thanks to the author and the BookSirens team ☆
I wondered for a long time how to start this review. I was MESMERIZED by book 1. It was such a fantastic book that my expectations for book 2 were sky high... well they still got surpassed! Even with characters I do not like * hum hum Owena * I was thoroughly enthralled and couldn't stop reading. I could not see the vast majority of the plot twists coming and it made me swear, rage, swoon and sighs with delight.
I will DEFINITELY keep looking out for anything written by the author from now on !
ARC Review I loved this book! This is the 2nd book in the series. I absolutely adore all of the characters, especially Emlyn. Kudos to the author for making these individuals feel so real and authentic! If I could create a book series with all the things I love to read, this would be the one! Magic, love and romance, humor, war, evil kings and queens, fae and mortals, the list could go on and on! I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens next!
I enjoyed book 1 so I was excited to start book 2.
I read about 50%, before I put the book down for a month. After picking it up again (I read another 10%) I still feel unmotivated to read it.
I think book 2 has more POVs than book 1 (don’t quote me I may be wrong) and it just feels like too much. I love multiple POVs in fantasy but there isn’t enough going on in this Romantasy to sustain my interest in that many POVs. **spoiler** We had all the angst build up in book 1 to end up with the most predictable couples. I’m not invested enough in the story to want to keep going.
I do want to try again later. I may just be in the wrong mood right now for this genre
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy.

I absolutely loved this Duology story and part 2 was just as good as the first. The books are so well written, the world building is beautiful and you can’t help but fall in love with all the main characters. Twists, turns, action, friendship and love not to forget magic & fae. Do we get a happy ending… no spoilers, you will have to read and see.
I received an advance review copy and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
ARC Review - I enjoyed this! Picked up right where the first one left off. I feel like we really got to know the characters better in this one with multiple POVs which was great! I also truly appreciate the recap the author gave us at the beginning. My only complaint is that I would have liked a little more closure at the end. Overall a great read!!
I am so excited to share how much I enjoyed this continuing adventure of Emyln, Cael, Reid, Taran, and Ellie! The intriguing introduction of Owena made the a more dynamic and interesting story plot twist. Love it the whole way through.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I absolutely love this series! I was privileged enough to be on her ARC TEAM. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I know if you like fantasy and romance you will love it too. Give this in the offer a chance, you will not be disappointed. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I greatly enjoyed Their Tangled Fates, so when I had the opportunity to read an ARC of the sequel, I jumped at the chance, and I wasn't disappointed.
This book picks up right where we left off at the end of book one, and as I hoped, we do get more POVs this time around. In addition to Ellie and Caeo, we get to hear from Owena, Emlyn, and Taran, giving us a front-row seat to all the tension, resentment, longing, guilt, and any other feelings that brew between them. This, IMO, added such depth to the tale. The relationships between our characters, from the romantic to the familial, felt real and well-executed, especially the one between Caeo and Taran. Even the various characters' relationship with the Land is important: She being one of the most important "characters" of all, and Her feelings the most consequential.
Even with all the information we can glean from the various POVs, I still found myself needing to know more about Owena's plans. Every little bit she revealed just made me that much more curious about what she *wasn't* saying. But this book wasn't as confusing as last time around, since we don't have the memory curses to deal with. But the queen is still an issue, as is King Dryfid and the war they want to inflict on the human realm, so we see our team trying to stop this incoming war on three different fronts - each an adventure filled with danger and risk that kept me on the edge of my seat.
I felt that all the characters showed significant growth in this book, and I appreciated the focus on them facing their respective trauma and not letting it swallow them. It felt like Caeo and Taran, especially, faced their demons and came out stronger for it. And my heart holds a special place for Owena. I knew I liked her in book one, when she was such a good friend to Caeo despite their circumstances, but the strength she showed in this book was truly something, even if every reader might not agree with her choices.
The conclusion of this book was satisfying and bittersweet all at the same time. Not everything is wrapped up in a pretty bow, but they are on the way to a lasting peace. As the book says, "there's so much to do before balance can truly be restored, so much healing that still needs to be done." As much as I would have loved for all of our characters to end up together at the end, Ellie still has work to do with her father and her kingdom. And it is nice to see their relationship improve when she opens up to him and tells him everything she's learned. But the book leaves us with the hope that they will get there - or, at least, that Ellie is still hard at work to ensure that they will. And with the hints we get about Reid at the end, it does seem that it is *possible,* if Ellie keeps at it.
The epilogue was a sweet touch, and it seemed meaningful that both the prologue and the epilogue are given from the POV of Ellie's and Emlyn's mothers. Having that tender moment from Ellie's mother at the beginning, where we see her love and hopes for Ellie really set us up for the ending, where Ellie finally learns to speak for herself. One of my favorite passages was where her father says, "And here I always thought you'd be helping me defend our home" and she answers, "I am, just in a different way. My own. One that can bring about lasting peace."
Chef's kiss.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a fair and honest review.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
After finishing the first book I was so excited to dive into this second book. And it did not disappoint, if anything it was even better than the first. The First book had a lot of world building in it and it had to in order to set the stage for this wonderful, creative story to unfold like it did. This book's focus is primarily on all the characters and their continuous development. I love the fact that this time around you get all the characters POV's and hearing from each one individually really adds so much depth to the story. I think out of all the characters I found myself loving Emlyn the most. I adore his sense of humor and his free spirited nature and his complete and utter love for Reid. Emlyn and Reid's relationship at times made me laugh outloud just because Reid was always so uptight and unsure of himself and Em was always making sure to remind Reid of all the best parts he seen in him. I enjoyed seeing Reid's character developed into a strong, confident young man who found acceptance with Emlyn and love and acceptance for and by The Land herself. I found myself completely drawn into Owena and Taran's whole dynamic. I felt at times their back and fourth, will they won't they "relationship " carried the story. I loved Owena and felt really sorry for her throughout the story, but I loved that she was a strong woman. To me she was more of an FMC that Ellie. Sorry, Ellie was a little to whiny for my taste and her "all about me" attitude sometimes made it very hard for me to list her as a favorite character or an FMC that carried the story (my opinion only). And I wasn't too awfully found of Taran at the end of book one, but I think he was redeemed in this book through Owena. I just wish Taran wasn't so weak. But the storyline between Taran and Caeo was great. All the feels are there. Hatred, betrayal, distrust, understanding, and love. I really think that Caeo had the best character development. It seemed like Caeo was able to go from an abused child/adolescent who dealt with his demons in the worst way to a male who fought them demons tooth and nail. Caeo has an inner battle with himself as well as his issues with Taran and Ellie. Unfortunately Ellie (FMC?) was my least favorite. I'm sorry, I couldn't help the way I felt about her. I found her really whiny and very self absorbed. She could have been so much more in the story, but she felt very lacking with little character development. Again just my opinion. Overall I found this second book to have everything in it I like with all the twist and turns in the plot and the "romantic " tension between Owena and Taran- I loved it! I would highly recommend this....duet?? Even though this book had a satisfying ending there is still way more story that could be told. Fingers crossed for that!
Absolutely adored the second book to the Tangled and True duology. There was so much at stake in this book, so much character development, and we dive so much deeper into each character with their POVs.
We continue straight where book 1 left off where Ellie, Taran, Reid, and Emlyn finally save Caeo. We got chapters from the POV of everyone in the main cast including Owena, which I thought was such a treat. We get to see everyone’s goals, internal struggles, and fears, and got to see them grow as they overcame everything. I will also say that this book is quite a bit spicier compared to book 1!
I loved the relationship between Caeo and Taran. We can see how much these brothers have been traumatized by their mother’s bending. Taran was bent from a young age and was lucky to be rid of her after a few years. Caeo on the other hand, has only been bent for several days/weeks and yet, it affects him just as much. Never even knowing that he’s being controlled, thinking what he does and thinks is of his own volition, only to find out it’s because his mother was forcing him. I can’t even imagine being forced to do and want things against your will. They started off hating each other (understandable honestly) but end up finding a mutual understanding between them (and maybe trauma bonding?)
I also really enjoyed how everyone parted ways on a separate quest that all ultimately helps with their overall plan to overthrow the queen and stop the fae vs human war. This forced the characters to step up and take responsibility, helping their characters grow so much. Ellie finally speaking with her father, Caeo learning to attune himself to his fae side, Taran learning that willbending isn’t always bad, and so much more.
In the first book, Ellie and Caeo’s relationship seemed very physical, but in this book, they really worked on each other’s problems, staying by each other’s side, and fully understanding each other. Reid and Emlyn were also such a cute couple; I honestly think they bring out the best in each other. I may have been rooting for them a lot more than Ellie and Caeo (whoops) 🤭
If you love your stories high stakes, with lots of twists and secrets and amazing characters, I’d definitely recommend giving this duology a try!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Multi-POV romantasy, emotional chaos, and tangled relationships. Their Tattered Truths expands the world of the Tangled and True duology into a layered, emotionally intense romantasy filled with fractured bonds, political unrest, and deeply intertwined fates.
At the center is Ellie, caught between love, loss, and impossible choices involving Caeo and his brother Taran. Every decision carries emotional weight, especially as personal heartbreak collides with the larger threat of a looming war between mortals and fae.
The multi-POV structure adds richness to the story, especially as we follow different emotional arcs—Caeo’s unraveling grief, Taran’s burden of failure, and Emlyn and Reid’s struggle between two worlds. Owena’s arrival introduces an intriguing layer of mystery, magic, and hidden agendas that pushes the story forward.
What stands out most is the emotional complexity: every character feels fractured in their own way, and the story thrives on how those broken pieces connect and clash.
✨ What stood out:
* Multi-POV romantasy structure
* Love triangle / emotional conflict
* Faerie vs mortal war
* Curses and magical manipulation
* Found family / fractured bonds
* Emotional trauma and healing arcs
* Political fantasy tension
* High emotional stakes
A chaotic, emotional, and immersive continuation that focuses heavily on heartbreak, consequences, and the cost of love in a collapsing world.

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 stars
What to expect: • Fae • Will bending • Forbidden magic • Power with consequences • Manipulation • Multiple POVs • Reluctant Royalty • Banter •
We pick straight back up where we left off in book 1. Ellie, Reid, Emlyn and Taran are trying to save Caeo. All the characters go on such a journey in this book.
We still get the immersive worldbuilding like in book one but book two is more, character driven. The character development in this book was fantastic 👏🏽 10/10 Seeing these characters grow and uncover more about themselves was great. All the characters had their own personal struggles to over come. And I loved the relationships that were built.
I wasn't vibing with Ellie as much in this book. But that's ok as there were so many other characters that stood out for me in this one.
Emlyn, he is such a carefree and hilarious character. Aways there to lighten the mood.
Caeo, now this man went through some sh!t in these books, very heartbreaking and traumatic. And to see him finally starting to heal himself was lovely to see. And now being back reunited with Ellie has made that possible.
Absolutely love the multiple POV's in the book. I really love getting a deeper look into the individual characters thoughts and feelings.
We had some amazing twists and turns in this book. Owena caught me off guard, I wasn't sure about her from the beginning she just felt off to me. I never really knew where she stood and who she was loyal too, but definitely didn't see that coming.
Loved the ending, what a great way to finish off this duology.
Thank you so much to the Author for sending me an ARC copy of your book. 🩷

Their Tattered Truths is the kind of sequel that takes everything you felt at the end of book one and flips it on its head in the best way.
I have never read a book where I loved the MMCs so much and felt so meh about the FMC… mostly because I wanted to shake her for her life choices. But honestly? That is not a bad thing. If anything, it made me feel more invested in the story.
Caeo and Taran absolutely wrecked me. My heart broke for both of them, and the fact that I felt anything other than pure rage toward Taran after book one is a testament to Briella Brezzo’s writing. At the end of Their Tangled Fates, I was done with almost everyone except Caeo. I was reading this book purely to make sure he got the ending he deserved.
And somehow… along the way… my anger started to fade. I found myself understanding the characters more. Even Taran. Yes, that Taran.
No spoilers here, ever, but this was such a satisfying conclusion to the duology. The character growth across the board was so well done, and I loved seeing the journeys each of them went on.
The multiple POVs were handled really well too. There was no repetitive retelling of the same events. Each perspective added something new and kept the story moving forward, which made it really easy to stay immersed.
And the twists? Just like in book one, there were a couple that I absolutely loved.
The world-building was already established in the first book, so this one focuses more on the characters and their arcs, and it works perfectly.
I cannot recommend this duology enough. If you have not started it yet, fix that immediately.
A stronger sequel that leans into complexity and actually sticks the landing.
This one worked for me in a way the first didn’t quite manage: a more intricate plot, better momentum, and a finale that feels earned rather than rushed. The story holds its tension well, even when the pacing wobbles here and there.
Owena and Taran carry a lot of the weight—there’s an adult edge to their dynamic, a sense of grounded tension that keeps things engaging without tipping into melodrama. Their presence gives the narrative some needed backbone. In contrast, Reid and Em bring a lighter touch; they’re genuinely fun and add charm without feeling like filler.
Not everyone landed equally. Ellie veers into whiny territory, and Caeo’s immaturity made it harder to stay invested in his arc. They don’t derail the story, but they do pull focus at times.
And because it matters: the scents are doing their quiet character work again—Caeo’s clove, Reid’s nutmeg with a hint of pine, Taran’s pine, Owena’s citrus, Ellie’s lavender—small details, but they add texture and differentiation in a way I always appreciate.
Overall, a solid step up with more depth, stronger character dynamics (at least for some), and a satisfying conclusion.

This book takes up the story where we left the six main characters at the end of 'Their Tangled Fates'. Ellie, Caeo, Taran, Owena, Reid and Emlyn are trying their hardest to bring the Land back into balance - there will be hard choices to make and difficult actions to take, but all of them are willing to do whatever takes to ensure that Taran and Caeo's mother does not cause another war between mortals and the fae. This was a strong sequel that allowed us to see the story from multiple viewpoints - this was really intriguing as characters revealed their motivations and intentions. I particularly loved the development of the relationship between Reid and Emlyn - couple's goals right there. The one relationship I wasn't as keen on was actually between Caeo and Ellie - she didn't grab my attention as much as the other characters. Owena definitely came into her own in this book - a very strong character that revealed she would doing anything for her people. If you like a romantasy that has a number of twists and turns, then this might be a duology that you want to put on your reading list. Thanks to the author for the chance to read and finish the journey.
I absolutely loved the conclusion to the duology! One of my favorite aspects of the series continues to be the multi-POV storytelling, and this book gave me the chance to get to know each character even more intimately. The characters are funny, dynamic, and so easy to become invested in, and I was completely hooked by both the romance and the character growth. The romance was exciting, heartfelt, and at times hilarious, making it impossible not to keep turning the pages.
The action really raised the stakes while keeping the story incredibly well paced. Briella does such a great job balancing action, romance, mystery, and emotion, and the unique magic system remained one of my favorite parts of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed every facet of this story and was captivated from beginning to end. After loving book one, I’m happy to say book two absolutely delivered, and I can’t wait to read whatever Briella writes next!
I was part of the ARC team for book #1 and was waiting very impatiently for #2 while slogging through zodiac academy...
What a breath of fresh air!! Tattered Truths picks up right where book 1 ends and continue the epic saga.
All our favourite characters are back and continue to grow/evolve and love (and hate).
The writing is even better then the 1st book and I really enjoyed the stories progression and conclusion.
Spice level is similar to book 1, but with some new characters and twists to keep things fresh and doesn't feel repetitive like we tend to get in Multi-book series.
Briella has put out a really solid duology here and I'm excited to see what she comes up with next!
As always, this was so well written. It held such a beautiful depth to the story. The way everything was weaved throughout the story really kept me invested. I loved the chaos, humor, romance and more that this offered. The world building was just amazing. The description out into this story wars so vivid and I loved feeling like I was right next to everyone going through this with them. Honestly, I loved the length of this story. I feel like it really allowed the story to reach its full potential in order to bring to the readers everything that this story was. And I absolutely loved the intro of Owena. She was so perfect for this and really brought a lot to this story. I’m glad that this ended with the ability to have another amazing story to follow behind this one.
After Briella's first book, I couldn't wait to dive into the second, especially with the cliffhanger in ended on!
This book continues the development of the characters and gives more of some of my favorite characters. The development of what happens between Taran and Owena (and the chemistry between them) is absolutely worth experiencing.
I didn't feel the surprises in this book were predictable, and knowing how the magic works from the first book helped understand the world better. I absolutely hope for more to come in this world she's created, and although the book wraps up nicely, I hope this isn't the last we hear from all of these characters.
Briella Brezzo has outdone herself with Their Tattered Truths! The follow-up to Their Tangled Fates has more adventure, more manipulation, more secrets, curses, and more relationship strife. All six of the main characters are going through some type of emotional turmoil, and the personal growth and character development of each of them was so special - especially Caeo. He had so much to overcome, and I also loved the evolution of his relationship with his brother, Taran. Overall, a great read, highly recommend.
The second book in a finished duology. I enjoyed this book even more than the first one. It revolves around 6 main characters and their different POV’s. Essentially splitting up into three different relationships, all aiming towards the same goal- fixing the Land, and stopping the war. Some of these characters go through a lot of hardships, and some face different manipulations, for both good and bad end results. Definitely more spice than the first book, and done really well.
I received an advanced copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed this sequel. I enjoyed seeing the different relationships develop throughout this book. Emlyn was my favorite character who added the much needed comic relief to a serious situation. I would love a novella set in the future to see where their lives are.
