Lexy Vale didn’t plan to stop in Lander, Wyoming. She just wanted to put as much distance as she could between herself and the man who turned her life into something she no longer recognized. But when her car breaks down on a freezing February night, she finds herself stranded outside the Midnight Rodeo. Desperate and out of options, she walks inside and asks Dex Hawthorne for a job.
Dex knows trouble when he sees it, and Lexy looks like the kind that never comes alone. He should turn her away. Instead, he gives her a job, and when he finds her sick and freezing in her car, he does something neither of them expected. He offers her a place to stay in the apartment above the bar. It is only supposed to be temporary, but living under the same roof changes everything.
In the quiet, in-between moments, guarded walls begin to slip, and the distance Lexy fought so hard to keep starts to disappear. For the first time in a long time, she begins to feel safe. But the past does not stay buried, and when it finally finds her, Dex will have to decide how far he is willing to go to protect the woman who has become part of his life… whether he is ready for it or not.
Oh Keely!!! I am so in love with this series I’m officially volunteering to be adopted by the Hawthorne crew because I am not ready to leave them.
This book had me completely hooked, like the first two in the series. I mean like “just one more chapter” turned into finishing it in a single sitting at an ungodly hour. The slow burn? Immaculate. Every page layered more tension, more longing, more need for these two to finally collide.
Lexy and Dex aren’t just a romance, they’re about healing, trust, and finding safety in someone when your instincts tell you to run. And Dex? The way he shows up, steady and patient without pushing… yeah, he’s top-tier book boyfriend material.
Between the chaotic group chats, the tight-knit small town energy, and that perfect mix of heart + suspense, this story just hits . It made me laugh, it made me feel, and honestly… I’m still not over it.
This entire series deserves way more hype, and I already know I’ll be revisiting Hawthorne Ranch again and again.
If you love: • slow burn with real payoff • found family vibes • forced proximity • protective, tattooed MMCs • romance with a suspense edge
Then don’t even hesitate, go download and read NOW!!! If you haven’t already… go read book 1 and 2 and fall in love with this family!
I’m already counting down to Jude’s book because I am NOT done with this world.
I was really looking forward to this story and it didn’t disappoint. The tension and chemistry was instant. Keely made me fall for the characters and my heart broke for their struggles. Reading how Dec struggled with his ADHD and how people treated him made me as a SEN mummy want to hold him and tell him, he is perfect just the way he is. Love the family bond. But the bond between him and his twin Jude (also ADHD) was beautiful, how they read each other and they know what the other needs warmed my heart. Lexy grew up way too early but life didn’t give her much of a choice. Again the bond between her and her brother was heartbreaking beautiful. She practically raised him but that didn’t stop him from wanting to protect her. And loved their nicknames for each other. Her mums husband is just evil!!! Dex and Lexy’s relationship grew slowly, with trust being built over time. Which is perfect for them, for people who don’t trust easy and open to others outside their family. Looking forward to Jude’s story
I adore this family and this book. I was really looking forward to Dexs story and it did not disappoint. I love the family dynamics and the way they interact with each other is heartwarming and amusing in equal measure.
The scene in the barn with Jude was just beautiful and I can’t wait to read his story. Showing the different sides to ADHD through the twins was insightful and the way Lexi knew what they each needed and was just quietly there for them was so special.
Where he finds her in her car … the snow storm … ah my heart!!
I wanted to simultaneously hug Dex and shake Lexi at different interludes and the yes moment when they finally figure themselves out was fabulous.
I am equal parts eager for the next book but really don’t want this series to come to an end.
Oh keely what have you done 🥰 I wanna be adopted into the hawthorne family. I am obsessed with this series so far 😍.
Well I am now in love with Dex he has over taken ethan. This story was everything, it had two lives dex and lexy, two past traumas, one meet at a bar asking for a job (because she is running from her past). Dex is stubborn he thinks lexy is no good, thinks she wont last but he gives her a chance, then the two lives start start becoming one but there is massive walls between these two he has ADHD and thinks he isnt worth having a relationship because past Girl friends have said "You are too much to handle" and she was abused by a mums partner whilst her mother got drunk 24/7. When the walls start coming down omg its like magic between lexy and dex i couldn't get enough there was some moments I actually had the biggest grin on my face, there was also moments where I was like COME ON DEX GET YOUR GIRL!!!! 🤣🤣. The ending was just perfect 👌.
The Hawthorne series just keeps getting better. Just like the first two books, this one was just as incredibly written.
The chemistry and moments between these two were amazing!! Lexy learning how safety feels and Dex being patient and understanding, created the most beautiful moments in this book.
With certain books a slowburn can be annoying, in this books it was written in a way where it was just worth it. No weird back and forth, just constant slowburn towards their relationship.
“You don’t get to walk away now, Tinker. Not after this. Not after you carved your way into me. It’ll break me.”
I absolutely loved Under the Midnight Sky! Having the chance to be a beta reader for this story made the experience even more special, because I got to watch these characters and their journey grow and develop into something truly beautiful. This book has all the things I love in a romance—heart, emotion, chemistry, and characters you can’t help but root for. The story pulled me in from the very beginning, and seeing how it evolved from early drafts to the finished version was such a rewarding experience. A heartfelt, engaging read that I’d happily recommend to romance lovers. I’m so glad I got to be part of this book’s journey!
This series deserves to be talked about more. I absolutely love it. I love the romance and the suspense. The build up before the couple gets together is perfection. I’ve been waiting for this couple and it was worth the wait. I’m excited for Jude! I’m hoping Asher and Grace get their happy ever after too! Can’t wait for the next book! Hopefully we get more romantic suspense books after this series as well! Loved it so happy!
I absolutely loved this book. Each book Keely writes gets better and better. I related to this one so much having grown up in an addicts household with being molested by my parents friends. The love story is amazing the way it builds over time with the development of trust first. The closeness of the family is what I never had but always wanted/craved. It’s almost like this author is in my head pulling out all my fantasies of love and affection. I can’t wait for the next book in her series! If you love a good cowboy romance series, read hers you won’t be sorry!

Oh man.... Keely did it again... I love these books and this has got me out my reading slum, having a book that touches base on ADHD and the horrible stigma is so welcome and eye opening. I love these characters and can't wait for the next book !
I want to meet a Hawthorne brother and be part of this family.
Keely Weis has done it again. Another amazing story that had me dropped and not wanting to put the book down. Finished this in 2 days as I was so hooked.
I've loved everyone of these books and can't wait for book 4 and Jude's story.
Absolutely loved Dex and Lexy's story. Absolutely worth the wait. I adore the Hawthorne's. Nothing better than a found family. "Hawthorne men fall hard and fast"
Keely Weis does it again . Each book just gets better and better. Dex and Lexy were just perfect and it was so nice to see the other characters making appearances. Can’t wait for Jude and Nora.
Keely has done it again. I want to find myself a Hawthorn brother. I have loved all her books so far in this series and cannot wait for the rest to come out. I am not sure why she is not being talked about more, if you want an easy fun loving series this is definitely the one. Hurry up with the rest lol
I loved this book so much!! When Dex said , “Tinker Let’s Build Neverland” I got goosebumps!! Another one of Keely Wei’s’ book that did not disappoint!!! Can’t wait for boom 4!!!!
Best book of the series just yet!! I really love this story for Dex and Lexy. Also loved how well the writing turned out for this one. Can't wait for the 2nd part of this series♡♡
I don’t even know how to put this into words… Under the Midnight Sky completely wrecked me in the best way.
This series just keeps getting better, and somehow this book felt deeper, more emotional, and more real than the others. Dex is not your typical romance hero, and that’s exactly why I loved him. The way his ADHD is portrayed felt so honest and raw, without sugarcoating the struggles or turning it into something “quirky.” It made him feel real, layered, and incredibly human.
And Lexy… her strength, her vulnerability, the way she navigates everything she’s been through—it just hit. Their story isn’t rushed or easy. It builds, slowly and painfully at times, but that’s what makes the payoff so worth it.
What really stood out to me is how this book doesn’t shy away from heavy topics. It doesn’t romanticize them, but it also doesn’t take away from the hope. There’s pain, there’s growth, and there’s healing—but it feels earned, not forced.
And the Hawthorne family… I swear I never want to leave this ranch.
Ok...I want the Hawthornes to adopt me! The chemistry was off the charts in this one! I laughed SO much with the group chats and I can't wait to read Jace's story! I read it in one sitting I couldn't put it down... slow burn but in every page the yearning just kept growing! I don't want to write spoilers but... I loved it! I finished reading it at three AM!!! I'm a total wreck today but it was so worth it. Can't wait to read more Keely!!! Definitely a book series I'll reread every year just to visit the Hawthornes! If you love small town, forced proximity, tattooed MMC and romantic suspense this one is for you! Five stars well deserved.
Can I give this one more than 5 stars??? This book hurt me in the best way. Lexy and Dex aren’t just a love story, they're healing, safety, and learning how to trust again when everything in you says not to. The slow burn is PERFECT, I squealed more than once! The tension is real, and the way Dex cares for her without forcing anything… I’m not okay. Small town vibes, found family, forced proximity, and so much heart. I didn’t just read this...I felt it. Dex is my new favorite book boyfriend!
