Savage: A Second Chance Horror Romance
The Furies were never the opposite of the Fates, they were equal necessities of life.
Serial killer. Assassin. Badass. Psycho bitch. There are plenty of ways to describe Sloane, but lonely isn’t one of them. She has her work, her vengeance, and the looks to get any man she wants. But that’s the problem, what she wants the perky artist she met years ago at boarding school, the one with dimples, curves, and big blonde curls. Sunshine like that can’t be kept in a bottle though, and Sloane knows their lives aren’t meant snap together like puzzle pieces…or a senator’s neck.
Lucy’s never been one to pass up an opportunity to smile, spread a little joy. The queen of letting it go doesn’t hold grudges or let her mind linger in the past. Except where her former roommate is concerned. They never shared a kiss, but Lucy still daydreams about spotting her crush ducking around corners and lurking in the shadows, just out of view. But someone like Sloane doesn’t end up in the same small, out of the way town as Lucy…or could she?

Story: 4/5 ⭐️
Spice: 4/5 🌶️
This was one of those books where I didn’t even read the blurb before buying it. 😂 It came up on my Instagram FYP with the character artwork, and I was SOLD. I purchased this book so damn fast.
I absolutely loved the introduction to this book. The author really put some incredible words there, and it immediately set the tone for what was coming.
This book is definitely not for everyone. It has some very dark themes, gruesome murder and graphic violence, which alone should probably tell you whether this is the kind of read for you. With that said, absolutely check the trigger warnings before diving in.
This is a sapphic horror romance that explores mental illness and the lasting effects of childhood abuse. Both FMCs met at a very young age at a school for “problem children,” but the things that happened at that school only seemed to make everything worse. In a way, Sloane and Lucy bonded through their trauma without ever really having to talk about it. They understood each other in silence and were simply there for one another.
Eventually they were separated and went years without seeing each other… or at least, that’s what Lucy thought. 👀
Lucy turned out to be such a beautiful and lovable FMC. She dealt with so much, including constant body shaming, which was heartbreaking in itself. But despite how ugly people could be towards her, she kept pushing forward. She never gave up on her dream of becoming an artist, worked incredibly hard and somehow continued to put a smile on her face.
I also LOVED how completely unfazed she was when she discovered exactly what Sloane did and how she did it. 😂 If anything, Lucy was basically like, “Okay babe, carry on.” She was supportive, encouraging and apparently completely fine with having an unhinged serial killer girlfriend. Honestly? Iconic.
And then we have Sloane.
Badass. Psycho. Unhinged. Serial killer. Mentally unstable.
I absolutely loved her. 😂
The way she dealt with her victims was gruesome, graphic and completely unhinged, although calling them “victims” feels generous considering they definitely had it coming. I especially loved how protective Sloane was over Lucy and how she never truly stopped looking after her. So much of what she did was ultimately for Lucy, even when Lucy had no idea she was still there.
My biggest complaint was that I wanted MORE of Sloane and Lucy together. I would have loved more spice specifically between the two FMCs because that part felt a little lacking for my personal preference. The spice throughout the book overall was good, but I was greedy. I wanted more of them. 😂🌶️
I also would have loved a little more depth in certain parts of the story. There were a couple of chapters where I felt like I was left hanging and then the next chapter jumped forward quite drastically. That could also just be me because I’m a sucker for longer books and will happily consume another 200 pages when I love the characters.
Overall, this was such an enjoyable read. It somehow managed to give me unhinged, gruesome and cute at the same time, which apparently is exactly my thing. 😂🔪💕
I loved both FMCs, loved their dynamic, and desperately wanted more time with them together.
Thankfully… THERE’S A SECOND BOOK, AND I AM INSANELY EXCITED FOR IT. 🖤🔪

Furies, Cults, Revenge, Serial Killers, and Spice.
Serial Killer like dark romance books with the addition of cults-- it stuck out for me and I knew I needed to read it.
The start for me was a bit bumpy. It was interesting, yes, but at the same time, I had a hard time trying to follow the timeline of it. The flashback scenes when stated the location, wasn't so much easy to point out at times. The first flashback made me confused due to how it transitioned. This is probably one of my only pet peeves about this book.
I found the beginning quite rough to follow. When it was interesting and did keep me reading, it wasn't the best flow to it.
The characters were interesting . I did begin to wonder if Lucy was a real person at the beginning, due to the wording and pacing at first. Then it went to Lucy's POV. I liked the romance between Lucy and Sloane.
Both were equally messed up in the head, even if they both didn't realize how "perfect" they were for each other until later on in their timelines.
I love Mr. Lucipurr, and wished he was in the book a bit more. Also love the reference to Dexter.
I can't wait to see the next chapter for Lucy and Sloane.

I like dark romance and this one scratched that itch.
Sloane, the FMC, has a sex addiction and daddy issues and goes to therapy. I am a therapist and I must say that was a very interesting scene and conversation with her therapist. Sloane reminded me of a female Dexter with her vigilantism. Sloane had a very traumatic childhood which led her to the current path she is on now. Sloane belongs to a cult of assassins to help stop the evil in the world. Sloane is given a Fury mask, which gives her a surge of power anytime she wears it, possessing Alecto. During all of this, Sloane is carrying a torch for her love, Lucy. She watches Lucy and visits her in the night (without Lucy knowing) because she is trying to keep Lucy safe. That church scene, was very kinky. Sloane was afraid to show Lucy who she really was, but deep down, Lucy loved Sloane for who she was and even helped her in the end.
There were minor spelling mistakes and the author's name is misspelled on the title page. There was repetitive words and some names were spelled wrong on pages, but it did not take away the plot of the story. I can't wait for #2.

Thank you to the author for this advanced copy. These thoughts are my own.
Savage follows two women, Sloane and Lucy, who were once roommates at a boarding school with a sordid history and secret. One woman uses her past to fuel her rage and turns into a vigilante serial killer. The other is an artist and barista who is trying to overcome his traumatic past. Both women have been in love with each other since boarding school, but haven't seen each other since they left it. Sloane seeks revenge on men who have wronged Lucy, and Lucy puts a bit of Sloane in everything she paints.
Overall, this book was ok. I would have preferred a bit more back story. The author alludes to both FMCs traumatic childhoods prior to the boarding school, but you don't actually know. The author alludes to what happened to the students at the boarding school, but again, you don't really know. Once Lucy and Sloane become a couple, you don't learn anything else of Charlie, Lucy's best friend.

If you’re a fan of serial killers who only kill bad guys, you are going to love this.
Sloane and Lucy have been through some rough stuff. Their personalities couldn’t be more opposite, but that’s what makes them perfect for each other. I love how they each care for each other exactly the way the other needs. It’s not what anyone would consider traditional, but their lives have been anything but traditional. They each meet each other where they are, and that’s a beautiful thing.
I can’t wait to see what Sloane and Lucy get up to in the next book.

I received an ARC copy of Savage!!!
I loved Savage and would definitely pick up book 2.
In some ways if you read the mindf*ck series it gives me those vibes.
Sloan is out for vengeance against a cult and protect her love Lucy. I enjoyed this read and loved the mask/alter ego version and would love to see it get deeper in book two.
It was a dark ride that just hit right.

ARC REVIEW—
I already need a second book like yesterday. This was just beautifully written in detail where I could see the scene unfold before my eyes. I absolutely adore Sloane, she is definitely an icon. And Lucy? Ugh. She’s just a cutie with a lot of thoughts in her head. The duo is absolutely perfect.

Dark Romance Extraordinaire
I was obsessed with this read. I love the Stephen King-esque world building and supernatural flair. There's so much criminal minds it makes you feel the love wire of the storyline jump off the page. I had a blast reading it and ready for the remainder of the trilogy. Can't wait for more spice, gore, and female rage! I couldn't put it down.

This book reminded me so much of MindF*ck series or Dexter at first and it had me hooked! The bits with the FMC’s therapist were pretty entertaining to me. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves spice and romance mixed with thrilling plot with a little vengeance 😏 😈
