Trinity has spent her life living the in the jungle, away from the Sanction world which the Emperor and the Untouchables created. Everything she knew about the outside was from murals on the pyramid walls, where she and the other members of the Enlighten tribe live.
One day while out hunting, the dark presence of Death appears by her side, and she becomes the hunted…
Dax has returned home to the Purenet Sanction, as his family holds his friends and loved ones hostage. Alone and helpless, he slips back into his old life… until true friends show him the way out.
Skylier’s fate is sealed. Time is her only hope… to get away from her fear worse than death.
"Am I really reading The Sanction series? Is this a continuation of Purenet?"
That's why it took me so long to read it: Because after the first pages, I give myself a break to remember Purenet and try to connect it with Aurum.
BUT after I decided to try again, I was sooo relieved that Trinity -the new character- was really cool to catch up and it was really easy to like her.
As always, this book was fast, fun and with a lot of suspense; and although I was expecting Skylier and her family, I enjoyed Dax's point of view and his adventures with Trinity.
Aurum has open new possibilities and questions that I don't know how are they going to be resolved, but until now, this series is getting better and better!!
Also, it was pretty captivating to know more about the world and how it works. I know that they are a lot of Sanctions, so I hope to meet each of them :)
Thanks to the author for providing me this copy. This fact didn't influence the review.
I really enjoyed my time reading this book, I never got bored and I never got enough of it!! And I certainly loved it more than I loved the first one, though I liked the latter big time as well..
The absense of Skylier the Purenet heroine did't messed up things rather than the rising of Dax in this book gave it another taste.. Though I've missed those two together, and I'm still waitting what this special bond they have.. Therefore I'm super excited about the continuation.. What Dax is gonna do? What happened to Skylier? Who is this famous Ayah? And what part is Trinity gonna play next?
The Epic Adventures continue.. Skylier was captured in Purenet. Dax apologized to his father and said he'd loyal to him again. What!?!
Aurum introduces us about a tribe outside the Purenet, Enlighten Tribe. As there are two POVs, Dax and the other is Trinity. She is from Enlighten Tribe. Trinity became a bazi in Purenet. Aurum Sanction gave her to Purenet as a gift. How come? Will she survive? Will she back to her home?
Dax, Trinity, Reznor, Hayden and Lowell ran off from Purenet. But their path was not easy. They have fight against the crazy Caribe. The Purenet's soldiers hunted them. Aurum was full of BLOOD! :D
Again there was a terror of a strange illness in Enlighten tribe. Now they head to the Aurum Sanction, they have to build an army to save the Grounders, Ayah, and Sylier.
The second book of The Sanction series is amazing as well. Oh, the story was getting better and better. Every part of the page was important. Each chapter was short, made me hard to stop reading.
The stories from Dax's POV was great. My favorite was about his childhood with Xander. *poor Dax*
I read it in Kindle and it was just perfect!
Oh, the title of the book is Aurum, however I found there were few stories / information about Aurum Sanction. Aurum is awesome, so full of gold. My eyes dazzled all the time LOL.
As always, I can't wait for the next book to come out, with a captivating cover as usual. 5 stars for Aurum! Well done for the author.

Aurum by H.J. Lawson is the second in the Sanction Series after Purenet. Skylier is a prision, destined to be a host for her demented brother Xander. Dax, Skylier's twin who is trying to free her and all the Grounders, and Trinity, a girl from the Enlightened tribe that has lived her whole life in the jungle.
Trinity is an awesome addition to the characters. She is captured and turned into a prisoner, but she remains a fighter. Even after being in captivity for over half of a year, she bides her time, but she doesn't give up. When she and Dax meet up, he calls her his secret weapon. Even though he knows she has been through a ton, he realizes her worth and puts stock in her advice and in her abilities. I know Dax has a girl, but these two seem to have great chemistry. Just the right amount of being able to stand by each other, but also the concern and attraction hinted at.
I am really glad the author separated the books where she did. When the book starts with Trinity's story, you almost wonder if this is the same series, but it ties together very soon after the beginning. With this start you really get to identify with Trinity and are able to identify more with her and root for her.
This was an action packed, hard to put down book, I finished it in less than a day once I started. I would definitely recommend, but it is not stand alone, you will need to read Purenet first.
Skylier was almost not in this novel at all, I really wanted to hear more about her story. I am hoping she is in the next book.
I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review. 5 stars!
I received an ARC ecopy in exchange for an honest review. This book was really intriguing and interesting and I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the sanction series. This book is a companion to Puritan and it's just as great! HJ Lawson's books always starts out with a hooker that captures the reader into her writings. Although it has different characters, the plot and excitement is just the same. I really enjoyed reading this second book in the sanction series. Looking forward to the next in series from the author. Amazing stories! 5 Stars Review

Summary:
This story takes a different direction as it is revealed how the Purnet Sanctum will go to any lengths to continue their control over their people. From withholding the truth about their past and the present world to kidnapping outsiders for experimentation they will go to any lengths to maintain their part of the world. Trinity was happy with her life until the day she was stolen from her tribe to serve the Purnet. Dax, as the Chancellors son, is one of the few people who know the truth is bound to them try and find a way to free his family from their clutches. Skylier' fate is sealed until her brother Dax can find a way to save them. The stories intersect as their common goal to escape what appears to be overwhelming odds. Add to this Dax's power hungry brother Xander who will do whatever he can to take over and their father who will sacrifice even his own children to keep his position as leader.
This fast paced and intricate story held me riveted until the very end and it isn't over yet!
At first, I wasn’t sure if I was reading the right book because it didn’t feel like a continuation from where Purenet left off, but as the story progressed, everything started to fit into place.
Aurum is written from the point of view of two characters, Trinity and Dax. I really liked Trinity who is from the Enlightened tribe – she is a strong warrior type female lead in this story and was very likeable. It was fascinating to read about her way of life and her tribe’s culture which is in stark contrast to the way of living in the Purenet Sanction. I also liked reading the story from Dax’s point of view and learned more about his family history and his brother Xander.
Aurum is well written, quick paced and full of action, just like Purenet, and I found the book engaging from beginning to end. We find out more about the world the story is set in but by the end of the book there are still some questions left unanswered. All the characters in both books are real and interesting and there are plot twists in Aurum that make the book quite riveting.
The storyline in Aurum, and in fact both books so far, seem well thought out. By the end of this book, I can see there is a lot more to come in this story.
I enjoyed reading this book as a follow on from Purenet and I am curious to know where the story will go from here. Hopefully, we won’t have too long to wait!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Trinity, who is a member of the Enlighten tribe, has no fear of the jungle or its inhabitants. She is very much at home there. She is a hunter who provides food for her people. As the daughter of Spiro, the tribe’s leader, she has certain spiritual abilities which enhance her hunting abilities.
Dax is forced to return to his father's palace in Purenet Sanction, the last place he wants to be. But he has no choice if he hopes to rescue those he loves. Due to their positions, his father and brother can commit acts that would sicken a sane person without fear of retribution. Can Dax find a way to stop the atrocities?
Can Dax, Trinity, and her tribe work together to save their people? Who can they count on for help and how many will they need? Are they seriously thinking of taking on the Aurum Sanction? What of the other sanctions/communities?
H. J. Lawson grabs your attention and then doesn’t want to let it go…that is a really good description of this book. The story involves many different cultures within their world, and makes you think…is this where our world is headed? Is there time to change the future?
I love the story line. World building in this book is very well done. You will have wanted to read book one before beginning this book. It ends on an upbeat note, but it is obvious the story continues. I will be looking for book 3. There were a few grammar and spelling issues, but not bad enough to disrupt the story. There is a lot of action and some violence. I recommend this book for anyone 15 and older.
A second heroine, and she is our warrior girl. Though this doesn't keep her from getting captured and sent into slavery as the sex toy for a perverted and sadistic tyrant. When she strikes back, let's just say her timing couldn't have been better.
Again, it's a cliffhanger type ending, leaving you with a need to keep reading, and as before, too short.
I was lost at the beginning. Felt like I had been given the wrong book 2. I almost stopped reading but I finally got to a chapter with Dax. Missed having Skylier in this book and Zuri just disappeared. Its wish there was more in the story of what happened with Trinity and Zuri. Feels like the book skipped through important plot points. Still a good story. Hopefully book 3 increases my rating!
