Willow Falls Rugby Omegaverse Series, Book 1
By: Fern Oliver
Narrated by: Meg Sylvan, Stephen Dexter, Will M. Watt, Nathaniel Ames
It is always great to check out new authors or new-to-me authors, even greater when that author blows you away with the story they created, and that is just what Fern Oliver did with her incredibly entertaining story. It has been a while since my last Omegaverse novel, and Oliver reminded me of how much I love them, the imaginative Omegaverse and its hierarchy within, with each universe unique to its creator. Fern’s Omegaverse is the most common, but she still makes it her own, and her world-building and character growth and development are fantastic. The Alpha rules, and the Omegas, who are looked down upon, have fewer privileges, including when they can go to college and how they get in. The lead female character, Wren Murphy, finally gets to attend college, on an Omega scholarship, and there are rules she must follow, including what to do and where to go if she has her heat. She just wanted her education and had no plans of getting involved with any alphas, especially not any athletes, since her brother, Finch, is the vice captain of the rugby team, the Wolves. Then, she ran into him, the one who tried to claim her drink at the coffee shop, Connor Renfro, #15, aka Scotland, and her brother’s teammate, but she played that down, as if she did not know who he was, which intrigued him even more and he was not giving up on her. Next up was Theo Brennan, the owner of the Wolves and the father of her ex, and if that is not complicated enough, or that he is nineteen years older than her, he is her scent mate. Speaking of complicated, her brother’s best friend, Atlas Palamo, who felt his connection to her the moment they met, feelings that were not reciprocated and being who he was to her brother it was in his best interest to ignore the feelings, which Wren took as not being liked by him. It was great getting to know all four characters, each having an interesting backstory, and it was also great watching their relationships form and then morph into something so much more. Wren’s roomies and new besties, Nikita and Gabbie, were amazing too, and I was happy to see Nikita was getting her own book too. Three is a whole lot of story in “Look To Pass”, a captivating story with non-stop drama, some angst, lots of witty dialogue, charming and heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and steamy polyamorous scenes. Fern Oliver, thank you for the incredibly entertaining story and the emotional and steamy rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous multi-cast production performed in duet by Meg Sylvan, Stephen Dexter, Will M. Watt, and Nathaniel Ames, an amazing line-up of talent. Their character voices are fantastic, and I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound. Sylvan’s take on Wren was perfection, grasping every facet of her personality, from her strength and determination to her sass and fierceness, speaking of sass, she nailed it as Nikita and Gabbie too, giving each their own unique voice, fitting to their personalities. Dexter also nailed it as Theo, the protective alpha boss, and Watt was just as amazing as the resident Scot, Connor, lovable, upbeat with a heart of gold, and Ames acing it as Atlas, the broodiest of them all. All embodied their characters completely and were naturals in their roles. Their expressive delivery conveys all the characters’ emotions, as well as their passion, making you feel it all. An ideal cast brings these characters and story to life, with voices that complement each other, and an engaging performance that is not only fabulous to listen to, but one that hooks you to the story and dialogue.
