Twenty-nine year old brunette beauty, Amanda, is at the height of her short political career. After only a few years in Washington, she finds herself thrust into the role as head of the president’s re-election campaign. It’s a role that’s perfect for her smarts, for her drive.
However, a stunning attraction to the married President Xavier Callaway is a roadblock on the road to her career that she didn’t expect. As she finds herself growing closer to the mysterious, powerful man, she begins to lose sight of her true goals. But do goals really matter in the face of such stunning happiness?
Will the President of United States betray his wife with beautiful Amanda?
Will Amanda put her career at risk by sleeping with the president?
Is anyone in Washington to be trusted with their secret?
Definitely not my cup of tea. Professional woman in Washington DC but at the beginning of the book she cusses like a sailor. This does not continue throughout the book - so to get a job she cusses then once she's got it she suddenly stops.
Another woman's husband is not meant for you! Period.
Once a cheater, always a cheater. You don't want him.
A cheater is not a hero he's a sleaze. He's weak. He's indecisive and scared to be alone.
I don't want to read about losers so I got to the cheating part of this book and stopped reading.
There are much better things to do.
I can't imagine that any woman would want to read about a cheater. So I gave it one star.
This book is pure crap. I can't believe I wasted time reading it but it was only 45 pages and I wanted to see how many times a taxi driver called her beautiful lady, she mentioned her thin waist or she bit her lip. Too many in a 45 page book. An editor is needed, though it didn't have as many errors as some books I've read so points there. Anyway, if you are looking for a story of any kind, its not in this book, which ends in (shockingly) a cliff hanger. If you want to read the most awkward sex scene I've ever read, it starts on page 40.
Another great book by Claire. With Amanda going into a interview for the president, she never thought anything would come out of her interview. With being hired and good at her job, the tense between the Prez and her is deniable. Can't wait to see what happens next
Amanda wants it all. The power, success and control. It's starts with a simple job interview but it's with Xavier, The President of the United States. The very man she secretly desires and the same man that wants her. His career, marriage and the future of the country ride on him keeping his emotions in check. Will Amanda jeopardize her presidential reelection campaign job for her growing feeling towards this exceptional man? Wouldn't they get caught? Claire Adams did an excellent job of pulling me into Power. A must read!
GreAt start to a new series! Amanda puts her life on hold to further her career. At 29 she has already worked on the Presidents election campaign for the last election and she is finally getting a interview for her dream job as head of the election Campaign. Even though she is secretly hot for the young president will she jeopardized her job and his career to sleep with him once? After all no one will find out if it's just once will they?
I would recommend this book to those who love to read about love. The way it was written made you think like it was you in it. Have it give stars, because I could not leave the book down.
