Batman secludes himself for a month to not be addicted to the venom anymore. Meanwhile the doctor and the general use timothy to make him invulnerable to all pain and strong as hell.
There are two parts of the arc in here that I really hate.
The doctor and the general are terrible people, both sacrificing their children in different ways, so when they say racist and misogynistic things, that shouldn't be taken as an endorsement, but those lines and the death of Consuela seem a little too comfortable. It doesn't sit right.
Also, I know we are supposed to be impressed with the withdrawal process and Bruce bravely facing it alone, but it doesn't feel at all realistic as to how recovery works.
