A Messy Good Time 🫣

WHEW. This book was messy, chaotic, and had me sitting here like 😲that mother-in-law BABYYYYY. I wanted to slap fire from her ass. Every time she showed up, my blood pressure went up😭

The secrets, betrayal, chaos, was definitely enough to keep me turning pages I’m talking about ate it up in 24 hours 401 pages!! I was entertained from beginning to end.

A messy, dramatic, chaotic good time 5⭐️ read for me! By @iambmhardin

I had a GREAT time with this book. I couldn’t put it down. I laughed out loud more times than I can count, I dreamt about it and picked it up in the middle of the night to keep reading. It was written well, the banter was great, and exactly what a psychological thriller should consist of.

This book left me like, WHOA! I kept wondering if Cheryl believing she only had 4–6 weeks left to live sparked her need for control.

Her list made sense from her perspective, but I kept asking myself—do we really get to play God?

Madame Pierre had me questioning whether she was poisoning her! Marc was truly a stand-up husband, and I wish the friendship with Dr. Rye hadn’t become a casualty.

Overall, a witty suspense novel with a clever sense of humor. This one left me sitting with the question: If I knew I only had a short time left to live, would I live differently? 🤔

Hooked from the first page and hated to leave these crazy people!!!!!

I understand when the medical news is so horrific that it knocks you on your knees. Been there, done that! But Girlfriend, you pray for healing, not make a list of folks that need to die! Okay a couple I did agree with, for the same crazy reasons, but you find non-murderous ways to solve the situation!

If Cheryl thought having cancer at home was bad, try fighting it in prison. I loved the shocking twists at the end of this story. Marc was the perfect husband for Cheryl, and I loved how he proved it to her. But his "Ma" needs a 6 month vacation somewhere soon!!!! LOL !!!!!!

This was everything I expected it to be. I laughed, I teared up, and my mouth was open. It was very easy to follow, gave some great thinking points and kept me entertained. It begs to question what would you so if you found out you only have 4 to 6 weeks to live? Also everyone deserved to be on that list lol. The mother-in-law.... a mess, she definitely made the story hilarious.

This was a fun read. It did drag a little but I got through it. I thought more would have happen than it actually did, but this book was still an ok read. There was some hilarious thoughts and dialogue but there were also some serious moments. Though I don’t think this is the best of this author’s catalog, I still enjoyed reading this book.

Loved It

This book was very interesting, Cheryl was diagnosed with a terminal illness and decided that she wanted to take out a few chosen people, I loved the way that Cheryl husband stuck by her side. The mother in law was doing too much for me. Great Story!

GOOD READ

This was a good read. Very entertaining and had you questioning some of these characters. Cheryl's diagnosis put her in a situation of making decisions without regret. A sort of revenge for those who have wronged her. And just when she thinks her secrets are safe, she finds out that she wasn't as discreet as she thought she was. Lol.

Idk why but the main character really irritated me. While I think the story was unique and overall interesting I found certain parts very repetitive. I found myself consuming chunks without being able to put the book down and then being unable to read more than a page for a couple days. I will say I thought something more nefarious was at play and found the confession by her dad and step mom a bit weird (although I understand the foreshadowing being done). While this wasnt my favorite read I'm happy I was able to read a black authors book with black characters, that was very refreshing. Overall I think it was a fine story but not something I would reread.

Twisted, Original, and Impossible to Put Down

This was one of the most unique psychological thrillers I've read in a long time. The story perfectly balanced dark humor, suspense, and unexpected twists that kept me turning the pages. I loved that the main character wasn't your typical heroine, she was complex, flawed, and surprisingly easy to root for despite her choices.
The pacing was excellent, the writing was engaging, and just when I thought I had everything figured out, the story took another unexpected turn. If you enjoy psychological thrillers with morally gray characters, sharp wit, and plenty of surprises, this book is definitely worth reading.
I gave it 5 stars because it entertained me from beginning to end and delivered exactly what I want from a thriller, a gripping story that kept me guessing until the very last page.

This was my first read by B.M. Hardin and I absolutely loved it. This book follows Cheryl who has a cancer diagnosis and is told she has 4-6 weeks to live. During this time Cheryl creates a list of people she believes deserves to die instead of her. Now, a few of them definitely deserved what was coming to them (in my opinion) but it doesn’t matter because in the end death is coming whether one is ready or not.

The book definitely had some sad moments but a lot of humor. It definitely had me wondering what would I do in her situation. The book was easy to follow and well written. There were some twists here and there that I was not expecting which made me want to read it even more. I look forward to reading more books by her.

This one is my favorite BM Hardin book!

I did not expect to be laughing my butt off as much as I did reading this book. I’m not going to lie I would have told ppl off a whole lot sooner, especially her mother in law, but when she told Susan “respect these nuts” and she said I’m allergic to nuts, I died lol.
Aside from Marc weak sex game he is an A-plus husband, especially when he stands up for her. I did feel he could have done just a little bit more with his mother, but he did stand up for her.
My mother in law would have gotten as good as she gave if I was given a death sentence , she was just outright disrespectful.

I almost never write reviews because I'm lazy and also bad at it, but I LOVED this. The Algorithm showed me a post by the author that sold me because I liked the premise and the author's vibe... read it all in one sitting because it was so good. I didn't feel like it was something I'd read before, I didn't guess where it was all going, the ending was satisfying, I liked the characters you're supposed to like but was still interested in the ones you're supposed to hate, I love the author's writing style. No complaints at all! The main character doesn't love dogs and is a bit mean about one at one point which normally would take me right out of a book, but I was enjoying this one so much that I wasn't bothered- usually the problem with that is it feels forced in for no reason, which wasn't the case here.

Not what I expected

Was definitely surprised with the ending in a good way. This story was a great read the thought of death coming for you. But with that alone you feel the need to take others out who you deemed undeserving. I enjoyed the storyline and the pacing was satisfying.

This book had probably the most original plot of any book I’ve read this year
It was insightful, funny, twisted, and I definitely had a tear here or there.
Everything I love in a book
I would absolutely read a book written from Madam Pierre’s view as well
This book had no lags, stayed interesting, and was a good time!

Still my favorite author

Loved the book. I've been waiting for a new release. She is a great author and keeps me intrigued. She is the only author that will have me pulling out my phone to read in the middle of traffic because I cant wait until I get home. Cheryl was a beast and thought like many of us would but would never admit it.

Original, funny and heartfelt

What would you do if you online had weeks to live?
Would your true self emerge?
The question facing our heroine is just that - and the answer is not qhat you might expect!
Removing people who deserve to die far more than she does sounds like a good idea but it's harder than it appears and throws up more questions than answers.
Twisty, funny and heartbreaking in places, easily one of my favourite reads this year!
