Alen and Laura are a couple in their early forties. They have been married for about a year. Both have been married before and have been divorced.

They met nearly two years ago and the connection happened very quickly.

The story starts with a weekend visit to a couple that she has knows for years. The wife made an off hand remark that made Alen curious.

Alen is very sensitive about infidelity. He knocked up his first wife in high school and they married suddenly. He was a long distance Truck driver and was gone quite a bit. Trish, his first wife cheated on him frequently. He was unaware but eventually Truth caught up to her. Alen got a divorce and when he named the lover as a contributor,.. she named several other names, as well.

Alen is no longer a truck driver, He is the dispatch/manager these days. Laura is a high school teacher.

She was married before and her divorce is more amicable. Her ex-husband wanted to travel and they separated.

He discovers that Laura and her first husband were swingers. This piques his curiosity to nearly insane levels.

This prompts excellent and open communication and this results in them both renewing the activity
It’s a superb novel. The characters are warm, intelligent, friendly, and open.
Great heat and choreography.

Mr Swallows has done it again. A great, Angst free, humiliation free, tale with beautiful warmth and depth.

An easy five stars.

I’ve read a lot of Delores Swallows and this is my new favourite.

The story is pretty well laid out in the book summary, so no spoilers here. It’s a grown up and previously divorced couple that comes to terms with their pasts, they talk about it, they have thoughtful and insightful conversations about it, and work to find a new way forward for both of them.

The scenes are novel and consensual, and they talk about them before and after. Both have concerns and find a way to reconcile their differences.

A great story from author Swallows.

An easy 5 Stars

ps: my only complaint, I don’t think there’ll be a sequel 😢 (see below)

pps: the offset to the complaint above, the female lead wears the outfit pictured on the cover of my edition of this terrific book - a definite plus 😁👍

That Simple?

Interesting story.

First thought. There’s a reason that Hotpast and not Hotwife is in the title. This is not a hotwife story, rather it’s a story about a woman who had a past history of swinging with her first husband.

The stress of the story is that she is now married to a man who was divorced because his first wife was a chronic cheater. Because she knew about that she never discussed with him that she previously was a swinger and had previously had sex with dozens of different men.

Now while they were visiting one of the wife’s friends that past was revealed. The strength of the story involves the discussion that the new couple has about her prior sexual history and how he responds to it considering that his first wife cheated with multiple different men.

He obviously wonders if she can now be happy just with him and eventually decides that he needs to see what happens if they get involved themselves. So they decide to explore this by joining an event with the group that she had previously been involved with.

My only complaint is that this swinging episode, in my opinion, went too smoothly. The prior participants were excited to see her back and he was obviously the “odd man out”.

He felt that he needed to see her with other men in order to understand if he could accept this part of her. While I can agree with that, I think I would have had a lot more anxiety about the experience.

But overall it was an enjoyable story, different than what I have been reading and it did bring up thoughts about a different experience.

Alan and Laura have married after both divorced their first spouses.
If you enjoy Delores’ beautiful writing this is a delicious read.
Alan is consumed by Laura’s past.
This unfolds beautifully!
The more Alan hears of Laura’s past the more intriguing he finds the swinging lifestyle.
Hope this beautiful couple have a book two!

Sensational descriptive erotic prose.
