Under Pressure by Hannah Cowan is the story of Beckett Rourke, one of the pitchers for the Vancouver Havoc. His obsession is with Quinn Archer, the fiery redhead who owns local coffee shop Blank Space, and former high school classmate.
Quinn remembers Beckett but prefers to keep him at arms length. When her coworker suggests setting Quinn up with her grandson, Quinn says she’s dating Beckett.
Beck can’t deny Quinn what she needs when he’s down as bad as he is, but he knows he’s going to have to work hard to break her walls down.
Fake dating with someone who “can’t date” is such a delicious trope and no one can tell me otherwise. Hannah nails this one out of the park (pun fully intended) because you really understand Quinn but Beckett has no idea and he’s still the most caring man ever. He knows he’s can’t push her too hard and he just supports her where she’s at.
Add in those massive biceps and I’m a goner. Dog dad? Say less. 🥵

Sometimes the past refuses to let go. For Quinn she has never truly felt safe unless its with her sister or grandmother. She spent her entire childhood surviving a neglectful parent while taking care of her younger sister. She had to grow up way too fast and still acts like she is living in poverty. She has worked so hard to make her dream of a coffee shop come true but her fear prevents her from seeing its success. She never feels stable and overworks herself. She lets her fear of getting hurt by someone she loves prevent her from having any sort of meaningful relationship whether it be friendship or romantic. She overcame a lot but her mother and the bullying she received as a teenager caused a lot of emotional scars.
Beckett grew up as an only child with loving parents. They always supported him and still do. He grew up playing baseball and was lucky enough to be good enough to play professionally. He was the typical jock in high school, not mean but one of the cool kids who prioritized status. He became one of the star pitchers for the Vancouver Havoc. For a while he acted like a playboy athlete but that lifestyle got old and started to damage his reputation. He wasn’t a womanizer but he had enjoyed their company. Now there was only one woman that had his attention but she wanted nothing to do with him. Was this because of who he is now or because of who he was in high school, or both?
When Beck discovered The Blank Page with teammates and saw Quinn again after several years he was hooked. He started making coffee runs just to see her even though she tried to ignore him and gave him a hard time. He kept coming back, was he a glutton for punishment or was he hoping they could become friends. Thanks to an interfering granny type and a busted pipe, Quinn allowed Beck into her life temporarily. She trusted him but not with her heart. She believed it was too broken for anything long-term. The more time they spent together, the friendlier they got until real feelings developed. Beck knew that if he spoke the truth she would run scared so he kept his feelings quiet. When Quinn realized just how deep her own feelings were she did get scared and let her fear win until she was reminded that she couldn't live in the past, she controlled her own future and if she wanted to be happy she had to fight for it. Now she was the one that was trying to get someone's attention and win him back. Will she strike out or win his heart and his real drink order?
I loved Quinn because she overcame so much hardship and was still standing. Trauma never really leaves but learning how to life without letting it control you takes time and patience. The scars aren't always visible but those who truly love you will be there every step of the way. The biggest step is overcoming the fear that lingers in the back of your mind with every decision and for Quinn that fear is still too loud after more than a decade. Beckett seemed to have it all but his true friends saw more than the headlines. He was a great guy and he saw Quinn in a way few people did. He was one of the few that was determined to get past the hardened exterior. He truly wanted her to be part of his life. He wanted a future with her no matter what it looked like. He saw past the hurt and knew with time she could truly trust him with her heart. When the right person comes along, they can help heal the damage caused by those unworthy!

I was not prepared for the feelings I would have for this book.
I was not prepared for the rollercoaster of emotions I would dive into throughout the pages.
I was not prepared for how obsessed I would become with this story and these characters.
I was definitely not prepared for adding one more author to my favorite authors short list.
And please don't make me say how I was not prepared for another book boyfriend. Because Beckett? Oh my heart, the man you are.
Beck is the handsome and talented pitcher star of the Vancouver Havoc baseball team.
Quinn is the grumpy and sassy and so strong owner of a small café.
They have a past (same school, different perspectives from that time).
One day he enters a café on his way to the stadium and meets this beautiful woman. They both recognize each other but don't say a word. He becomes literally obsessed with her and, from that day, he goes there every morning he is not in an away game.
The book starts 4 months into this dynamic.
I spent more than half of the book with a smile in my face. They are so funny with their banter, with how hard he tries to seduce her and she tries to send him away every day.
Chapter 34 was overwhelming. It is beautiful and emotional. I ended it with my e-reader clutched to my heart.
The entire book is so well written. 0 clichés; I searched for them, believe me, and I came with... nada. 0. So refreshing, so exhilarating to read a book like this.
And that is one of the best compliments I can think of: in a world full of books where you read the exact same expressions or sentences everywhere, this book is just perfect.
Under Pressure is not meant to just be read; it was written to be savored.

This was such a comforting, character-driven romance that completely won me over with its slow build, emotional vulnerability, and a hero who simply refused to give up.
Quinn is a workaholic coffee shop owner who has built her life around protecting her peace. After a difficult childhood and years of relying only on herself, she's convinced that letting people in only leads to disappointment. Beck, on the other hand, is a professional baseball player who knows exactly what he wants from the moment he walks into her café. Watching him patiently chip away at her walls without trying to change who she was made this romance incredibly satisfying.
One of my favorite things about this book was Beck. He could have easily fallen into the cocky athlete stereotype, but there was so much more to him. Yes, he was confident, persistent, and very aware of his own charm, but he was also thoughtful, attentive, and incredibly emotionally mature. He remembered the little things Quinn mentioned, showed up whenever she needed him, respected her boundaries, and consistently demonstrated that his interest in her wasn't superficial. His actions spoke just as loudly as his words.
Quinn's emotional journey was equally compelling. It was easy to understand why she struggled to trust people and why she kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. Her fears didn't come out of nowhere, and while there were moments when I wanted to shake her and tell her to believe what was right in front of her, her hesitancy felt grounded in her past rather than manufactured drama. Her growth throughout the novel was one of its strongest aspects.
The chemistry between them was fantastic. The flirting started early, the tension kept building, and there were plenty of moments that had me grinning. Whether they were exchanging witty banter, spending quiet time together, or giving in to their attraction, their relationship felt natural. I also appreciated that they genuinely enjoyed each other's company outside of the romance, which made their connection even more believable.
The supporting cast added a lot of warmth to the story. Quinn's grandmother's influence lingered throughout the book in such a meaningful way, and I loved seeing Quinn gradually become part of Beck's circle. His family and teammates brought a lighthearted energy that balanced some of the heavier emotional moments.
My only reason for not giving this five stars was that parts of the third act felt more drawn out than they needed to be. I understood Quinn's fears, but there were moments where it seemed like Beck had already proven himself over and over again. I found myself wishing she'd trust him just a little sooner.
Overall, this was a heartfelt sports romance with wonderful emotional payoff, fantastic chemistry, and one of the most patient and devoted heroes I've read in a while. If you enjoy persistent heroes, emotionally guarded heroines, slow-burn tension, and relationships built on showing up day after day, this one is definitely worth picking up.

I love this series so much, and each couple adds something unique yet absolutely perfect to this found family. I gravitate toward sports romance because I love a strong found family, and that is definitely present in this series. When this story starts, Beck (MMC) is obsessed with Quinn (FMC) and she wants less than nothing to do with him. If you read the other books (no worries if you haven’t yet, they are interconnected standalones), the timeline of this book overlaps with After Hours, and the epilogue of that book occurs during the third act of this one. Beck used to be a playboy, but once he sees Quinn for the first time as adults (they were acquaintances in high school) he is locked in and knows that she is his future. However, she is strictly anti-athlete and anti-relationship and lets no one behind her sky-high walls, so she knows it’s a lost cause and he needs to move on. However, when she tells a white lie and they need to fake date in front of one of her employees, she finds herself starting to fall even though her head is telling her to ignore her heart and protect herself.
Quinn is the type of FMC that I think some readers will have a difficult time liking, but that makes me love her even more. She is guarded, extremely prickly, stubborn, and independent. She has been given no reason to trust anyone aside from her grandmother and sister, so she doesn’t. That said, she is incredibly self aware. She doesn’t want to hurt anyone (especially Beck) but her fear of being hurt and abandoned override every other emotion and she makes mistakes like any human. Even though I typically don’t love a third act breakup, I really like how that is handled here. This isn’t an angsty book but there are times when it is so sad and I just feel for these characters.
If you love a MMC who is down bad for his woman and will do absolutely anything for her even if it breaks his own heart, pick this book up. Beck is a major green flag (even with the light romantic stalking thing…) and he is in touch with his emotions, he listens, and he communicates. I mean, the man hates coffee and he goes to her cafe every day and buys coffee (and drinks it) just for a chance to see her. I love the growth and journey both of these characters go on, and though it wasn’t an easy road to get there I am so happy for these fictional characters to get their HEA, they deserve it.

I don't even have the words for this book, other than that it deserves all the stars and that I love Quinn and Beck so much.
Quinn and Beck's story is one filled with baseball, an independent woman who owns her own coffee shop, a man obsessed who yearns for her, a dog dad with an adorable golden retriever, a fake crush/fake dating situation, forced proximity after a water pipe breaks in her flat, and a found family. It was also a story of healing and growth, of realising that it is okay to let someone help you, and that you don't have to spend your life alone, and just so much more. And if any of that sounds like a book you want to read, you should do so; I promise you won't regret it.
This book was such an emotional and deeply personal read for me because I was able to see so much of myself in Quinn. Quinn, our FMC, is the oldest sibling and had to grow up way too early and quickly, being shouldered with responsibilities that no child should have to shoulder, leaving her with a strong sense of independence. And while independence isn't anything bad to have, it also leaves her with such a strong sense of independence that it is hard for her to accept and ask for help or lean on anyone's shoulder when things get hard. Which is where Beck, our MMC, comes in, because all he wants to do, next to getting Quinn's attention and a chance with her, is to offer her support, a shoulder to lean and cry on, and someone who is willing and able to help her carry her burdens from time to time.
This book was truly the embodiment of the eldest daughter finding her person, and through him her found family and support system, but not without the hurdles that being the eldest daughter throws in the way. And I just adored how patient Beck was with Quinn, how he went to her coffee shop whenever he was home and not at an away game, how he drank whatever coffee (that he hates) Quinn served him, how he slowly and silently stored away the knowledge of what she liked and started stocking those things in his flat, how he even started cleaning the dishes at her shop just to be able to spend time with her and there are so many other things I could mention.
And while I have talked a lot about Quinn, it was also a story of change and growth for Beck, and I just adored getting to see behind his exterior because he truly has a heart of gold. Thinking of everything that I have mentioned before, to being so big on family and continuously defending Quinn whenever any of the guys from the team question her character or his obsession with her.
This truly is Hannah's best series so far, in my opinion. I just love everything about it, and I can't wait to see more of the Havocs and what their love stories will bring us.

And if any of that sounds like a book you want to read, you should do so; I promise you won't regret it.
This book was such an emotional and deeply personal read for me because I was able to see so much of myself in Quinn. Quinn, our FMC, is the oldest sibling and had to grow up way too early and quickly, being shouldered with responsibilities that no child should have to shoulder, leaving her with a strong sense of independence. And while independence isn't anything bad to have, it also leaves her with such a strong sense of independence that it is hard for her to accept and ask for help or lean on anyone's shoulder when things get hard. Which is where Beck, our MMC, comes in, because all he wants to do, next to getting Quinn's attention and a chance with her, is to offer her support, a shoulder to lean and cry on, and someone who is willing and able to help her carry her burdens from time to time.
This book was truly the embodiment of the eldest daughter finding her person, and through him her found family and support system, but not without the hurdles that being the eldest daughter throws in the way. And I just adored how patient Beck was with Quinn, how he went to her coffee shop whenever he was home and not at an away game, how he drank whatever coffee (that he hates) Quinn served him, how he slowly and silently stored away the knowledge of what she liked and started stocking those things in his flat, how he even started cleaning the dishes at her shop just to be able to spend time with her and there are so many other things I could mention.
And while I have talked a lot about Quinn, it was also a story of change and growth for Beck, and I just adored getting to see behind his exterior because he truly has a heart of gold. Thinking of everything that I have mentioned before, to being so big on family and continuously defending Quinn whenever any of the guys from the team question her character or his obsession with her.
This truly is Hannah's best series so far, in my opinion. I just love everything about it, and I can't wait to see more of the Havocs and what their love stories will bring us.

4.5/5 - Quinn has had to rely on herself most of her life. She has cared for herself and her younger sister, and is still mothering her though she is in college. Running her coffee shop, Blank Page, is all she has time for. She does not need Vancouver Havoc’s closer, Beckett, coming into the shop every day, especially since he seems to hate coffee. He asks her out time and time again, but she remembers him as the cocky boy she knew in high school. In a right time, right place moment, Quinn finds herself saying she’s fake dating Beckett. Beckett is determined to break down the walls Quinn has erected and make the fake dating real.
Hannah Cowan’s dedication: “For the eldest sister. It’s okay to let someone help us from time to time. I promise.” was one of the truest I have ever read. Quinn struggles to trust and has felt let down by so many. I felt her right down to my bones and I wanted to hug her and tell her that it will be okay and she will get through this.

The chemistry between these two made it impossible to believe any of it was fake. Their flirting had a layer of tension between them, with Beckett’s cockiness keeping me grinning. Their relationship felt natural, even when they were fake dating, and they enjoyed spending time with each other.
Hannah is known for her found family, and there is no exception here. Quinn gradually became part of the Havoc family, while the Havoc teammates poked at Beckett, his coffee habits, and crush, adding a lightness to the book, which was a good balance for the emotional journey the two went on.

Hannah Cowan truly wrote this book for the eldest daughters. For the ones who guard themselves and pour themselves out for everyone else. For the ones who built up walls to protect their hearts because they’ve been hurt too many times. This was for the girls who hide behind busy schedules in order to protect themselves because it’s easier than feeling the emotions that weigh on us. I saw so much of myself in Quinn and to see her story play out was so incredibly healing.
Beck and Quinn’s relationship was so much fun to watch unfold. The banter and flirting added so much to their characters and really showed off who they are as people. I loved that Beck was never once put off by Quinn’s guarded demeanour. He never wanted her soft and sweet which was everything to me. Seeing Quinn learn to open herself up and be vulnerable was also beautiful.
Quinn is the epitome of the eldest daughter. Shes guarded and protective of those she’s close to and loves them so much. The way she pours herself into everything and cannot let go or ask for help was so relatable as an eldest daughter. I saw so much of myself in her and her actions. Her sarcasm and cold exterior being warn as armour hit close to home. Seeing her grow and develop as a character was incredible. Her banter with Becky felt comfortable and seeing her learn to lean on him was everything. The way that despite being scared she slowly learned to realize that love isn’t a weakness and that she is worthy of it without having to prove it or work for it.
Beck oh my gosh this man. His patience with Quinn was amazing. The way he never wanted her to change herself or be softer healed a little part of me. The way that he liked her the way she was with the “jagged” edges and the cooler demeanour. The fact that this man was head over heels after their first meeting since high school was everything. The fact that he saw her beyond the masks she put on and the walls she built. The way he waited and allowed her to come to her realizations on her own was so important and really proved the type of man he was.
I loved that Quinn also began to see Beck as more than just a baseball player and the happy go lucky guy he portrays himself as. I liked that she would get jealous even when she didn’t want to. That she did really like him from the get go but never really allowed herself to feel that way. Watching these two come together and grow as people throughout the book was so well executed.
The side characters as always added so much to the story. The found family aspect of this book was so important and done so well. I loved watching Quinn gain friends in Aubrey and Brielle as well as Evie. I loved the strong female characters and the friendship that was portrayed through them. I also loved the healthy male friendships and conversations that happened.
I am so excited to see what happens in the coming books and the rest of the Havoc family.

From the very first chapters, I was completely hooked. I could barely put this book down because I was dying to see how their relationship would unfold.
Quinn despised athletes, and I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would finally make her change her mind.
As for Beck... he was basically a golden retriever constantly begging you to throw the ball again… relentless, determined, and ridiculously lovable, and honestly, who doesn't love a golden retriever? I genuinely think he might be one of the most obsessed, down-bad MMCs I've read in a long time. This man was determined. He went to her coffee shop every day to buy coffee (even though he hates coffee) just so he could see her and try to talk to her. The way he absolutely worshipped Quinn was so beautiful. Zero red flags were detected.
And don't even get me started on the secret tattoo he got for her... STOOOOP. 🥹

And for once, it wasn't the MMC who had to do the groveling, it was Quinn! This was a surprise. She had the drinks delivered to his hotel, even during away games, with little handwritten notes. IT WAS SOOOO CUTE! She even recruited some of his teammates to help her pull it off.
It was so nice seeing this team and their loved ones again! Their dynamic is just so much fun and absolutely hilarious. His teammates couldn’t stop laughing about his obsession with the barista.
I simply adore this group that Hannah has created, and I’m so excited to discover each and every story from our favorite team members! 🥹

He wore his heart on his sleeve, and while he wasn't exactly subtle about his feelings, it somehow made me love him even more. His devotion to his family, his friends, and especially Quinn was impossible not to adore. Watching him get rejected over and over was heartbreaking because he truly didn't deserve it.
Quinn was a strong, ambitious heroine, but she definitely tested my patience. From the outside, Beck's feelings couldn't have been more obvious, yet she continuously questioned his intentions and pushed him away. Leaving without giving him an explanation was frustrating and unfair to both of them. That said, I really admired her determination, her career goals, and the love she had for her sister. Once she finally accepted both her own feelings and Beck's, I loved seeing her fight just as hard to win him back.
While we didn't get much time with the Havoc players, I really enjoyed meeting the Blank Page crew. They brought plenty of humor and personality to the story. I also would have loved a little more closure for Eli and Cassie, but it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment.
And those little breadcrumbs Hannah sprinkled throughout the book teasing what's next? I am so ready for the rest of this series.

I love Hannah’s books so much that no matter what she writes, I will read and love it, and Under Pressure was definitely one of those books that I can devour in under 24 hours.
Quinn and Beck are two of my favorite characters, and I love how much they cared and were willing to do anything and everything for their family/the ones they loved. Not to mention, I love a man who is a complete goner for their girl, and Beck really was the definition of the best man <3
Beck was so obsessed with Quinn that I rooted for them from the very beginning, even though she preferred not to get involved at first.
Quinn had my heart, and I just overall loved her character, and I defintely felt bad once I truly understood her and what she had been through. She is the definition of a strong woman, and I felt it empowering that she was able to overcome fears that she had, along with the many hardships she had faced and gone through.
As for Beck, there was just something about him that had me head over heels in love with him. There are too many things to list, but some of the things I truly enjoyed were all the times he was patient with Quinn, letting her go at her own pace when it came to their relationship. He never left her side despite everything she tried, at times wanting to not let him in but instead pushing him at an arm’s length. When she finally concluded that he was going to be there for the long haul, I may have been so giddy and happy that I literally cried!!
Under Pressure definitely had me on an emotional roller coaster that would not let me off. I liked that this story felt real and brought some real emotions out. Although it was emotional at times, it still had the laughs with plenty of spicy scenes to go around!!

She’s been responsible for raising her sister and is trying to get through life one moment at a time she doesn’t have time for Games or even time for herself so love isn’t in the picture. At least that’s what she thinks.
Beck is the finisher pitcher for the havoc major league baseball team. He’s a jokester. He has always being pinned as the Playboy, but underneath all the scandal headlines and what people seem to think about him lies a kind, sweet, caring, loving man.
There’s something about Quinn that draws back in like a moth to a flame. He can’t seem to shake her out of his system. He doesn’t even like coffee, but yet goes to Blink page every day, just to see Quinn. These two have a rough start. They have history but different point of views about it. Quinn and Beck discover how much they mean to each other, how they bring out the best in each other and how they need one another.
This is book 3 in the havoc series. I have read the ones before this, but you can read this as a standalone without any confusion.
It was nice to see what Brielle and Roman were up to since the last book. I can’t wait for the next one to see what’s going to be happening with the havoc team and the next couple. I would definitely put this book on your TBR.

Hannah got me crying at the dedication already wow. But she did it again, another absolutely banging book and I was sucked in and hooked from the very beginning and just somehow became even more obsessed with every page. Beckett and Quinny completely have my heart.
Beck is the ultimate golden retriever MMC. This man spent SO LONG going into Blank Page, ordering and drinking coffee he didn't even like just for the chance to see his Quinny, and I have to admit I was just as obsessed with Quinny as he was, ok maybe not quite cause that man was so down bad he was ready to get on his knees and do whatever she said. He was persistent but in a good way, completely devoted and I just loved him more and more as we got through his POVs. And the little neck tattooo?? LIKE DUDE I WOULD HAVE FOLDED RIGHT THERE.
Quinn is one strong, ambitious, and fiercely independent woman. She had her walls, and she also had her reason, as we came to learn they had known each other in High School, but over time she started to let her walls down just a little bit and that's when Beck came crawling into her heart. I love a sports romance, and a sports romance by Hannah Cowan even more, because it never misses. Beck and Quinn were so special, and I ate up their story. Might be my favorite of this series, unless another couple dethrones them as the books keep coming.
Beck is the king of yearning, I swear half the book is him pining after Quinn and being down bad for her and doing the sweetest things that made me swoon and fall so hard for him. He's a total green flag and I adored him.
Quinn is eldest daughter energy to a T, fiercely independant and *slightly* closed-off, it's a bit of a struggle to get to know her but once you're in, you've got an amazing friend in her. I saw facets of my own eldest daughter syndrome in her, and I wanted to hug her and tell her it's okay to let your guard down once in a while, some people are worth it.

I love a sports romance, and a sports romance by Hannah Cowan even more, because it never misses. Beck and Quinn were so special, and I ate up their story. Might be my favorite of this series, unless another couple dethrones them as the books keep coming.
Beck is the king of yearning, I swear half the book is him pining after Quinn and being down bad for her and doing the sweetest things that made me swoon and fall so hard for him. He's a total green flag and I adored him.
Quinn is eldest daughter energy to a T, fiercely independant and *slightly* closed-off, it's a bit of a struggle to get to know her but once you're in, you've got an amazing friend in her. I saw facets of my own eldest daughter syndrome in her, and I wanted to hug her and tell her it's okay to let your guard down once in a while, some people are worth it.

This was a 5⭐️ for me! I was lucky to have gotten this ARC and it was my first book by Hannah Cowan and I loved the story and the characters.
Quinn didn't have an easy upbringing and she's had to rely on herself for most of her life and providing for herself and her younger sister and it's left her pretty guarded. She's content with running her coffee shop, The Blank Page, and it's really all she has time for.
That is until the Vancouver Havoc's star closer starts to show up every single day. Quinn believed Beckett's an egotistical athlete playboy. He comes in every day to flirt with Quinn and ask her out and even though she's rejected him every time, he still isn't detered. Despite what she believed about him, she ends up needing him to fake date her in order for her employee and grandmother's friend to stop trying to set her up with her grandson. The plan works, a little too well and soon Quinn's walls slowly start to come down around Beckett. She learns he's not at all what she thought he'd be like and she realizes just how far her fear and insecurities have shaped her life and now must face them in order to move on in her life.
I loved how Beckett kept showing up even though Quinn was constantly pushing him away he did his best to understand Quinn and to reassure her. I also respected the fact that he also drew a line because at some point he needed her to be all in or let him go.
It was just such a good story.

Under Pressure was like a powder keg - so any built up emotions from both Quinn and Beck; ready to explode. I went into this book thinking it was going to be a simple he falls hard trope. I wasn’t expecting it to turn into a mini fake date saga.
Quinn, for me was displaying my childhood on page. I truly could understand what she was going through; having a parental figure who chose a vice over the child they had. It stuck with me. I liked that Hannah purposely had Quinn guarded. I also understood why she was the one who needed to be in charge, even when she had assistance. The supporting characters were great… I wanted to see more Callie. Ruth was a hoot..she was the quick swift kick in the pants for Quinn. No nonsense and spoke her mind, even when Quinn wanted to ignore sound reasoning. Ruth was the parental figure she needed in her life.
Hannah did a fantastic job with Under Pressure… I am already waiting for the next installment. This series is t a disappointment at all.

Hannah!!!! What are you doing to my poor heart? I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster Beckett and Quinn were about to take me on.
They both know each other from their school days, but neither of them admit to knowing each other at first because they both have very different memories of their time at school. Quinn is absolutely committed to keeping Beck as far away from her heart as humanly possible. GIRL. Please? How could you treat this poor man like that 😭 Because this man is so hopelessly, painfully and pathetically OBSESSED with her and she just keeps shutting him down over and over again. My heart couldn't take it.
My heart’s only saving grace? Beck EATS. IT. UP. Every ounce of her sass, every eye roll, every furious comeback. This man is smiling through it all like it's the greatest gift he's ever received. 😂 He doesn't just tolerate her attitude, he absolutely thrives on it. Gets off on it… literally 😂 And I'm sorry, but we LOVE a man who looks at your walls, your fire, your chaos and says gawdddd I love this woman. Give me a Beck. I need this man.

Hannah Cowan and sports romance books go hand in hand and once again she didn't disappoint with Beck and Quinn's story in Under Pressure, the third book in the Vancouver Havoc series.
Beck and Quinn's story was sweet, fun and enjoyable from beginning to end. If there were an award for yearning, it would definitely go to Beck because he was absolutely gone for Quinn throughout the entire book. It was clear from the very start that he was down bad for her and I loved watching him visit her café every day just to see her, even with his dislike of coffee. Also that secret tattoo reveal had me absolutely swooning.
Quinn was undeniably independent and guarded due to her family trauma but it was rewarding to watch her slowly let her walls down and allow people to support her. I loved seeing Beck and Quinn go from friends, to fake dating, to slowly realising they were in a relationship. Their chemistry built so naturally throughout the story and it was heartwarming to see Quinn finally trust Beck enough to lean on him when she needed someone most.
Under Pressure was once again an enjoyable romance book that knocked it out of the park, with lovable characters (new and old), a great storyline and spicy scenes that have you blushing!

I really enjoyed Quinn’s character growth. As the older sister, she constantly puts everyone else first, wanting to provide for and take care of those around her. In doing so, she often neglects her own feelings and everything happening in her own life because she never sees herself as the priority. Watching someone come into her life who genuinely wanted to care for her, spoil her, and show her what it feels like to be truly loved was so rewarding. Her struggles with feeling like she wasn’t good enough and constantly expecting people to leave, just like everyone else had, felt very real.
Beck… Beck, Beck, Beck. Oh, how I love an obsessed man! His love language is everything a girl could want. He was so patient with Quinn, giving her the time and reassurance she needed without ever making her feel pressured.
The only thing I would have loved was a little more of Quinn and Beck’s relationship together, but I understand the focus of the story was Quinn’s personal growth and healing.
Overall, this was such an enjoyable read. I read 70% of it in one sitting because I genuinely couldn’t put it down. I love the Havoc series, and I can’t wait to read more!

Beck is a professional baseball player and a total golden retriever vibes. He also is not a coffee fan but he wont addmit that to quinn.
Quinn is the owner of blank page coffee shop which is in honor of her nan. Quinn did not have the best childhood growing up from a addict for a mum and juat genuinely feeling like shes never good enough and having to raise her little sister because her mum couldn't look after them.
When beck realise who quinn is it was kind of love at first sight for him but quinn just thought it was a joke especially after how his friends at school bullied her.
You get to see beck try his hardest to win over quinn but she has deep routed fear from how she grew up amd because of how people have treated her in the past.
This is definitely a slow burn with a lot of teasing. Id rate the spice in this book 🌶🌶🌶 out of 5.

This is my new favorite of the Havoc baseball series!
Hannah Cowan writes the best woman (and men!). Quinn is a 'take no shits' kind of girl. She's been hurt before and is guarding her heart and herself. Beck is the opposite. He grew up with a loving family, expresses his love externally, and gives it ALL to Quinn.
Circumstances make Quinn pretend Beck is her boyfriend to her older baker at her coffee shop. Beck is ever ready to take on this role. However, when Beck is all-in, Quinn has her evergoing reservations. Even when she realizes she's starting to slowly fall in love with Beck.
I loved how both characters were their own person that just grew more into each other. Beck knew what he was getting into. Quinn? Not so much! Still, Quinn slowly learns that she is worthy of love. And Beck is the perfect person to bring it out of her.
And the quips! I loved the banter back and forth between Quinn and Beck! If you love a banter book, you'll devour this too!

Circumstances make Quinn pretend Beck is her boyfriend to her older baker at her coffee shop. Beck is ever ready to take on this role. However, when Beck is all-in, Quinn has her evergoing reservations. Even when she realizes she's starting to slowly fall in love with Beck.
I loved how both characters were their own person that just grew more into each other. Beck knew what he was getting into. Quinn? Not so much! Still, Quinn slowly learns that she is worthy of love. And Beck is the perfect person to bring it out of her.
And the quips! I loved the banter back and forth between Quinn and Beck! If you love a banter book, you'll devour this too!
I absolutely loved this book. It was a fantastic edition to the series!

I don’t know what she puts in these, but I was instantly hooked. Perhaps it’s how close the Havoc team is and how easily they’re able to jab at one another, yet also be incredibly supportive/holding each other accountable. It could also be how headstrong the FMC’s are. So far, books 1-3, the FMCs have been peripheral characters so it’s been nice to get to know them as they’re also getting used to the friend group/team atmosphere. Hannah Cowan has the amazing skill of not assuming the reader has knowledge while also not beating us over the head with repetitive details. I feel like I’ve continued to get to know the FMCs as the series continues. No character’s journey is held to the confines of their pages.
Book 3, Under Pressure, is that perfect mix of guarded FMC who doesn’t fall for the good looking MMCs charm, but rather pokes fun at him in a way that keeps him coming back for more. All this to say, I need more baseball romance from Hannah Cowan.

This story completely pulled me in with its mix of banter, chemistry, vulnerability, and emotional growth.
What really worked for me was Quinn and Beck's relationship. Quinn's independence and reluctance to trust anyone felt authentic, while Beck surprised me in the best way. On the surface, he seems like the stereotypical cocky athlete, but the more I got to know him, the more I appreciated the man beneath the reputation. Watching him patiently show up for Quinn again and again made it impossible not to root for him.
I loved the tension between them, the playful back-and-forth, and especially the quieter moments where their walls started to come down. Their connection felt natural and heartfelt, and I found myself fully invested in their journey.
For me, Under Pressure was the perfect blend of swoony romance and emotional depth. If you enjoy sports romances with a persistent hero, a strong heroine, great chemistry, and plenty of heart, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try.

This was such a wonderful story. It gave a similar vibe to the start of Scott and Kip from the Game Changers series. He’s an athlete and she works at a coffee shop, whenever he’s around he does to her shop for his go to order. It’s super romantic and such cutie vibes that I was addicted to from the start.
The chemestry between them felt less cliche then I expected. I did partly go into this expecting the typical cocky playboy sports ball man 🤣 But I was happily shocked to find he wasn’t. Beck stays close as a safe patient presense until Quinn (FMC) is ready to let him in. I love my cliches but I also loved htat this book felt a little different then the normal current popular sports romances. Beck (MMC) is just so perfect for her. Giving her time and space, he just stays till she’s ready. I also loved Quinn’s backstory that we’re given. We’re abel to see why it takes so long we’re not just left guessing in confusiton adn frustrating. Beck & Quinn are adorable! He is such a giant golden retriever simp for her grumpy black cat eldest daughter self. Beck is a closer pitching for the Vancouver Havoc baseball team. Quinn owns and lives above her cafe Blank Page. They went to high school together but couldn’t have had more of a different upbringing, he having two loving and devoted parents, she having an addict mother and having to raise her younger sister whilst she was still a kid herself. She is anti-athletes due to the jocks who bullied her growing up & anti-Beck because he never said anything to his friends to stop them. He is so head over heels for her though and is determined to prove he isn’t for her. After lying to her stand-in grandmother and employee Ruthie that they’re dating, so she doesn’t have to be set up on a date with her grandson, she does start to fall for him. That terrifies her though after everyone who was supposed to care for her & love her essentially abandoned her. These two find their HEA though & we get some lovely found family moments, great spice, & fun groveling. I loved the whole team & can’t wait to go back to read the first two books in the series!

PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT! I love Hannah and her writing!!! That’s very clear!! And somehow each book just gets better and better and I simply do not understand HOW! This found family makes my heart ACHE with how much they love each other! How easily they take in new people without question!! Seeing Quinn finally be loved by so many people!! I love them and I’m so happy that there’s still four more books to come!

And Quinn is a strong independent woman who is SCARED of love bc it’s just going to leave anyway!! BUT BECK ISNT GOING ANYWHERE! And truly that was the most important thing. There was a lot of silly goofy moment between them because Beck was trying so hard to soften her up, to get her to let him in!!! But she also NEEDED him just to keep showing up - even if she didn’t necessarily know that right away!!! And the end result WAS SO GOOD!! Beckett clearly fell SO HARD! But so did Quinn!!! She hardly even realized it! And I cannot wait to see them again in the rest of the series!!
