I tore through this thriller as if I were on the hunt to save the world from disaster myself. The story drew me in immediately, but I breathed a sigh of relief when my favorite characters finally appeared on the page—though I almost said “stage.” These books feel like movies to me; I can see every scene unfold and hear every voice as the action plays out.



I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction of new characters, and as someone with a major soft spot for Greek mythology, I found that element especially compelling. I spent an entire day perched on the edge of my couch, refusing to adult, completely immersed in a story that made my heart race, challenged my understanding of history, and kept my emotions in constant turmoil. More than once, I found myself worrying about the characters and glancing over my shoulder for villains I might have missed.



What a journey! This book took me across countries, through fascinating cuisines, and into cultures outside my everyday experience. I especially appreciated the strong female characters woven throughout the storyline.



The ending was not what I expected, and now I cannot wait for the next installment. I highly recommend this book—and, honestly, all of Ox Devere’s books. They take readers on an unforgettable journey through history while exploring how the crimes and conflicts of the past threaten to repeat themselves. Against modern-day bureaucracy and powerful adversaries, honorable characters fight to prevent history from repeating its darkest chapters.

You would be hard pressed to find a better author right now who can so fully encapsulate their reader with the story they've created than Ox Devere. With their third installment in the Ridley Samaras series, GORGONS takes you on yet another mind-bending, adrenaline inducing adventure through antiquity, mythology, espionage, action, and intrigue. What I always so thoroughly enjoy about these books is the absolutely immersive experience that comes from reading them. Ox Devere not only takes you to exotic and mysterious locations, but places you in the setting with exacting detail. From the sounds of open air markets, the scents of lilac and gunpowder, to the vibrations coming up through your feet and rattling the fillings in your mouth, you don't just read the story, you feel it with every one of your senses. The climactic ending action sequence is one of the best I've ever read. Period. GORGONS is a perfect blend of modern action blended with the map overlay archeological adventure we have come to know and love. Do not miss out on this epic edition to the series!
