This isn't an exact fairy tale telling, more like a story with slight references to Alice in wonderland.
Ali is one of the fmcs, she's got a chronic mental illness. She's also a bit asexual and hasn't been in any relationships. She's a young fashion designer. Her best friend Red, works for a fashion icon. She brokers a meeting between the two.
Taran Topps is the hottest in demand fashion designer. She owns her own company Wonderland designs. She's also a known player.
I don't want to give too much away. The pacing was a bit off for me. There is also some miscommunication. Despite going through the rabbit hole, I had hard time connecting to either character. Certain decisions didn't seem plausible which for me was a detraction. Others might not have this issue & rate it higher.
Tropes and triggers: first time, first love, chronic illness, retelling, bdsm, homophobia, religious trauma, miscommunication.

This was such a cute story.
Imagine Alice and Mad Hatter falling in love. But it’s a sapphic romance.
The way that Ali and Topps loved each other, was both heartbreaking, and a love like no other. The struggles they went through are so much like day to day struggles for certain people.
I really enjoyed how this book ended. Ali and Topps are forever going to be one of my favorite couples♥️
