I liked the sound of this book and I liked the protagonist. I really don't think that the life described is that difficult to understand. Daniel is a smart guy, I think he got it the first time! On almost every page something shifts or settles or sits. The author needs to trust the reader not hammer us with explanations. There are loads of sentence fragments. Truly. Too many. Way too many. When the author writes a proper sentence it is quite good. He needs to do more of that.
