The Busty Ballbreaker is a Real Hot Dog

Great cast of characters developed enough to have small town idiosyncrasies, and still play to a central plot. Looking forward to the next book in the series. I will say the Moriarty-type character, Norris Peterson, is wearing a little thin. But, on the whole, I love the series!

Another great read. The body count did ramp up there and he hasn't quite managed to get the guy he so wants. More to come.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this cozy mystery series. This is the 2nd in the series. Mac is an ex-cop with his own hot dog stand. With the help of his friends from the homeless community he is asked to investigate crimes the police have over looked. In this case he is asked by Wanda to look closer at a construction site accident as she suspects it may have been murder. In the background is Mac's ongoing wish to prove his wife's death several years previously was also murder.
The characters are likeable and solid and the pace and suspense really went up a notch in the second half of the book. I've only visited Canada once but the books also give a real taste of modern day downtown Denver.
An enjoyable series I'd recommend to lovers of the cozy mystery genre.
