Now I’m a grown ass metalhead, with slight eclectic tastes, but I have 0 clue about hip-hop or the industry so some of the more technical terms went completely over my head. That being said Bennett made the music industry into a completely fleshed out character of its own with flaws and vulnerabilities and that was amazing to read.

I’m a big fan of enemies to lovers and this book absolutely delivered on that trope, with diss tracks and competing egos, and a burning attraction that both parties tried to ignore. But that chemistry cannot be faked or pushed aside 😏

Another thing that was done masterfully was that slow burn, because when it started burning I was done for. Two words STRAP SCENE. L.M Bennett knows exactly how to deliver that delicious spice. It was sensual and raw, and completely had me hooked.

This was a solid read that was not only delicious and tantalising, but it taught me a thing or two that I otherwise wouldn’t have none.

Romi and Cam set off lyrics that light up like fireworks! And while their dis tracks are fast, the romance is a super, slow burn.

Romi is the Queen, she's been in the business a long time and leads the pack. She expects respect. Especially from people like Cam who are climbing the charts on the path she created.

It truly feels like Cam and Romi hate each other, you can feel the tension whenever they share a space, but then there is a shift, and there is still tension, just a whole different kind! I enjoyed how the author not only built the characters, but the entourage around them as well.

I always think when an author can not only write an engaging story, but can write lyrics as well that they are a special talent - and let me just say L.M. Bennett is that special talent.

If you enjoy an enemies to lovers, slow burn romance set in the world of Hip Hop then pick this book up.

I love enemies-to-lovers, especially in this case where we have a misunderstood ice queen, Romi, and a lover girl, Cam, that can see through the facade. Plus equal yearning. They were moreso default enemies because of the competition to be number one in the rap game. But each made several missteps based on assumptions about each other and the rivalry. They had to decide if what they developed could withstand the outside pressures.


I started off annoyed with Romi's hard exterior and mean girl persona, but like Cam, I soon realized it's just her shield to protect her soft middle. It was sweet to see Cam break through her walls and Romi give Cam the love she's never had. There's an extended period of a slow-burning dance between Romi and Cam, but once things started heating up...they burned hot as the sun! 🥵🔥🌶️. This is the 3rd book in a series with reappearances by old characters. Overall, I enjoyed this love story between two strong-willed, independent women that found their perfect match.

Listen, slow burn and enemies-to-lovers are two of my favorite tropes, and Romi and Cam were 100% enemies. None of that mildly irritated with each other for three chapters business. There was beef, diss tracks, egos, competition, and a whole lot of attraction neither one of them wanted to deal with.

I loved how L.M. Bennett made the music and the industry feel like another character in the story. Watching Romi and Cam's relationship develop through their rap beef was so damn good, and I'm not saying another word because this is one you need to experience for yourself.

And when that slow burn finally burned, BABY. The spice was explosive, sexy, and hit at exactly the right point in their story. All that built-up tension had somewhere to go.

I'm so glad I read the entire Hot Mic series. Five stars for this one, and I'm over here praying we haven't seen the last of this world.

The beef is real. The diss tracks are real. The heat is on and these couldn't help but notice the other, noticing the other 😂. When you forget you're beefing and things get a little too personal.......what's your next move??? The tracks aren't the thing hot🔥. The magnetic pull between these two had everyone feeling energy. Romi is a the reigning queen of hip hop and is use to defending her spot. Cam is giving Romi a run and soon the lines get blurred. The rap girlies have so much drama and the haters are endless. It took them a while to figure things out, oh but when they did, they went all in. I love a good enemies to lovers as well as forced proximity trope. The spotlight showcased what they fought to keep hidden. I'm just glad they were able to do things on their own terms.

This might be my new fav out of the series!! As a lover of women’s hip hop, this story gave me so much LIFE. I love books with a lot of tension and this delivered. L.M. Bennett lowkey got bars because the lyrics in the book were so good! I need to hear these songs IRL. Make sure you add the playlist that accompanies the book too. Nothing but bops.

I love this entire series and appreciate how the characters from the other books were included in the story. I wonder if the series will end here. I would love to read more about Stacks or even Skye. I could see aspects of my fav rappers reflected in the story. I’m definitely part of the Wolfepack now! Wish Cam was real but at least we still got Megan Thee Stallion.

Happy Release Day! This was such a masterpiece! I received this ARC from the Author and I'm so overjoyed to have experienced this book and I would love this in an audiobook. To go through each MCs POV and drama being in the most dramatic industry and go from rival to smooth addictive lovers is a Rollercoaster ride of "amazingness"(I think I made that word up) This was my very first book by this author and im overjoyed and hooked! I'm definitely reading this again because this is the type of book you want to read for the first time again...So why haven't you picked yours up yet!? Thank you L.M. Bennett and Love in Color Books for the advance copy. This was my first sapphic romance and boy was I in for a ride 😳. This was a true enemies to lovers slow burn that had me immediately intrigued. Romi and Cam's energy could be felt in the raps, the battles and the SHADE! Although this was a slow burn 🔥, once the fire was ignited I was not prepared and it never waned off. L.M. Bennett did a great job creating Romi and Cam in a way that made me feel ALL the emotions, butterflies, frustrations, and even a little "Lord, please let these two get it together!" 😆.

This was definitely my favorite book in the series. I loved the rivalry between Cam and Romi, but them together was adorable. There were some really cute, intimate moments that made me smile (and blush a little), and the way they showed up for each other in big and small ways was everything.

I also really liked the interludes for giving us different character perspectives — I particularly enjoyed Zaniyah's POV as Romi's sister and assistant — and I loved seeing characters from the other books make appearances. I wouldn't mind a Stacks book, her character was really fun.
