If you loved the tension and world-building of the Alchemist Academy series Book 1: Feral Bonds, “Savage Bonds” delivers a satisfying conclusion that ties the bow on Alex’s journey while leaving just enough magic lingering in the air to keep us dreaming. This second installment does a good job at transforming the bonds between Alex, Tristan, Henry, and Nick into a truly unbreakable, cohesive unit.

The chemistry that was simmering in the first book truly boils over here. Watching Alex and her guys evolve from individual pieces into a united front is the heart of this story. This is my first time reading anything by Serena Cross and I really enjoyed it. I devoured book one and after completing the duet feel that is the better of the two. This one lags a little but overall I felt it was a strong duet with a really interesting plot.
