💣 Very Dark Mafia Suspense Romance
Vivy Skys does a fantastic job of balancing vulnerability, tension, danger and romance in a way that keeps you completely hooked. Enzo and Demi (secondary characters from “One Filthy Kiss” and “Filthy Sins”) get a second chance at love in a most surprising and unusual scenario. I love it when an author comes up with a plot that is out of the ordinary.
Demi is “Nyx”, an undercover NYPD asset at a Bratva dark and erotic club that traffics women. Enzo is the Sabatelli mafia enforcer she fell in love with, then ghosted after coming to terms with his criminal lifestyle. They had a passionate and enjoyable relationship until she left without a goodbye. He has been spiraling in a depressed state for the past year. This story takes some unexpected, nefarious, and surprising twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages.

This may read as a standalone but it’s best to read in order. Simply because the characters are crossing over and a better understanding of the story will be a benefit.
Enzo Sabatelli & Demi Payne once had history, this was also in prior read.
Now broken hearts have been shattered for a while but strangely the universe has brought them back.
Here, and for a while, 2 rules were in effect. A mask and no real names. I won’t spoil as a blurb is already available as per author. What I will say is take the time and read this. It may not appeal to all readers, but for the ones who have read the prior 2 books you will understand the context.
Yes, we are still dealing with trafficking of women and children, there may be trigger points but there is also love lost and found. A dark entry into the world of unlimited drama, fantasies, memories that can come true. Demi has entered a world that is sinister but also aiming to find the answers to her mission - trafficking. This story was good from page one to the last page.Enzo Sabatelli 's life is in a bottle and has been every day since Demi Payne walk out.Even his brother Giovanni or Megan can bring him out,his life is a mess and he only thinks of Demi,like where is she,why did she walk away and he gets no answers,he just blames his self and keeps on drinking, until one night a mysterious women talks to him at the bar,he tells her he isn't interested but later on he fines a card with the name Jared on it.So he decides to investigate and finds that it's a club and he is taken in a room where he is in a mask and he meets Nyx and he becomes Brain but he still thinks of his old flame,the night and the next and the next night he spends with Nyx,he feels some kind attractment to her,she kind of remain him of Demi.Nyx is there under cover because it's a sting,so she is Nyx but also Kate by day.This story doesn't lack for a story line,it's dark,full of mystery,secrets, hadred.I kept reading because I was team Enzo and I really wanted him to find Demi and stop blaming himself. I wish there was a story on Bianca, that women was living a brutal life and she could stand a ray of sunshine!

Demi is undercover in club suspected of trafficking women. Enzo has never gotten over Demi leaving him. He finds a card for a club, which he attends. It is nothing like what he expected but connects with Nyx.
Demi has not been successful finding any leads but does find her client Brian to be intriguing.
Brian steps over the line, is tased and dumped in a back alley. This leads to frustration on his part, and questions from Demi.
This story was very dark with betrayal, treachery, mystery and a Bratva boss who is brutal. I loved the attraction between Nyx and Brian and his fight to find her after the club closes. I loved this book; it's well-written and intriguing, with great characters. It's dark and features a second chance, mystery, intrigue, betrayal, treachery and love. Enzo and Demi shared an encounter from which they both walked away. Enzo, a member of the Mafia, never forgot his time with Demi.
Now Demi is a police officer working undercover as a sex worker to catch a gang trafficking women.
Whilst Demi is undercover, Enzo goes to the club "Jaded" and enters Demi's room, not knowing that the woman behind the mask is Demi. Both are masked, and the darkness of the room obscures their identities. Eventually, they realise they have met and who each one of them is. But then Demi’s true identity is discovered by her employer, placing her life in imminent danger. Will Enzo and Demi's story end there - no spoilers from me -download the book and ENJOY!.

Book three of "The Sabatelli Empire". Although this book can be read as a standalone, the context is much richer if you have read "One Filthy Kiss" and especially, "Filthy Sins". This book starts off a year and a bit after "Filthy Sins". Demi made the hard decision to leave Enzo and go back to her old life in law enforcement. Enzo has spent the last twelve months looking for her and trying to numb the pain, but someone is out there conspiring to have their paths cross yet again, and not for positive reasons. Demi accepts an undercover assignment at an underground sex club that has been linked to possible trafficking. Someone makes sure that Enzo finds a card for the club and he goes to find out why. In the background, the revenge plots of old enemies start roiling, threatening everyone in the path.

Right out the gate there's a timeline inconsistency. Enzo spent a year looking for Demi according to the blurb, but the prolog says they don't even know each other, they kiss at an elevator in a hospital, he puts her in it and hits the down button. Next thing you know it's a year later and he's drinking and being morose because he couldn't find her. She walked out of his apartment and never looked back. Like she had kept 🌶 personal items there so when did that happen?
Also, your sister shows up on your doorstep, she's had the shit beat outta her, you clean her up, put her to bed where you notice a random business card for a sex club some random woman gave to a week prior and you say must be fate? Ew, that's weird.

This is a new author for me and I don’t know what I was expecting but I had a hard time getting drawn into the story and this feeling lasted for quite awhile. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t seem to get an interest on the story. Then the action starts and it seems to explode. I did like the two main characters, Enzo and Demi. I didn’t get drawn into the story until Enzo and Demi reconnected and from there it did get better. I am sure there are a lot of readers who will absolutely love this story but it just never fully appealed to me.

The Masked King is a GREAT book!!! Even though it is the third book in the series, you don't have to read the first two books to understand what is going on! I read this book first and LOVED it!!! Enzo and Demi are so good together!!! This book has twists and turns that I didn't see coming! It has suspense and danger and love and 🌶🌶🥵🌶🌶!!! It had me engaged from page one!! Vivy Skys has a way of writing love stories that have all the feels!!! I couldn't put the book down!!! I am looking forward to reading the first two books in the series next!!!

Enzo and Demi are character from previous story's it's great to see them get a second chance at love. Demi's an undercover NYPD asset and Enzo is the Sabatelli mafia enforcer she fell in love with and left behind. I so happy they get a chance to find happiness. Vivy Skys writes such passion, emotions as this story twists and turns taking them on a journey that's worth reading as fate steps in and gives them a second chance. SPOILERS; Lots of buildup, then torture and degradation, a totally unbelievable shoot out in a burned out house (who fires into a cloud of smoke not knowing where the heroine might be) and an even more unbelievable hospital scene where smoke grenades are deployed, no smoke alarms go off, no nurse comes to check vitals EVER and a corpse is left propped on a chair. Then ridiculous hospital sex (sorry but an arm fracture and two people with gun shot wounds ARE NOT getting frisky. )

Wow! This story will make you wonder if memories will keep you guessing! Meeting someone in disguise unable to see each other, there's a connection. Yet, there are forces at work, to do harm. The intensity of this story is full on, drama, and true love hard at work.

Wow, just wow. Talk about second chances, along with twists and turns, secrets, danger, tension, and don't get me started on Demi and Enzo chemistry. I just couldn't put this down and see what was happening next. You get a rewarding HEA!.

The Masked King is absolutely fantastic! Mix an underboss with an NYPD cop and that makes for quite a story. It's a must read story that brings lots of action, betrayal, drama, suspense and intrigue. From start to finish it was impossible to put this book down making it a great, one sitting read!

A well written mafia romance from Vivy, as always. The chemistry between Demi and Enzo continues in this the 3rd Sabatelli book. I did find this one difficult to follow at times however hence the 4* review.

I usually like Vivy Skys but I couldn't get into this book. Too many side characters?, too long? not enough early development of the main characters so I could root for them later?

I stopped at 17 percent. This story didn't hold my interest. It was too slow. The main characters did not appeal to me.
