When does a dream become a nightmare? Between the hardships of life as a corporate worker and a complicated relationship with her deceased mother, twenty-nine-year-old Tommy Willow escapes her reality through the ability to dream walk—a generational skill passed down to the women in her family.
When she enters a random dreamscape filled with fire and destruction, she is found by Nicola Valentine, a skilled lucid dreamer who seems to have full autonomy in his sleeping world.
Since nobody can know about Tommy’s ability—a sacred oath to escape the monsters hunting her family down through the generations—she quickly abandons the nightmare.
That is, until Nico appears in her office the next day as a new hire—charming and infuriatingly gorgeous.
He confronts her for trespassing in his dream. In exchange for secrecy, he makes one she must help him reconstruct his dreamland into something else, anything but the pyre that has perpetually blazed since his childhood.
As Tommy and Nico’s lives intertwine through a series of nocturnal journeys, she realizes there’s something about Nico that she can’t turn away from.
The more Tommy spends her nights inside Nico’s burning dreamscape, the more she learns what lies beneath his alluring a sinister truth that fractures the lines of their shared reality.

Review of Advanced Copy Recieved by Author thank you for the opportunity Well, I’ve officially finished Wildfire Dreaming, and I think I need a cigarette, a therapy session, and a new betta fish. So if you’re looking for a book that will absolutely wreck you in the best way possible, Wildfire Dreaming is it. I entered this book for the bitey men and stayed because I was genuinely emotionally compromised by a fictional fish named Opie. Randi Garner has crafted a story that is equal parts dark, unhinged, and addictively romantic. Nico and Tommy are the definition of morally gray chaos. The dreamscape elements add such a cool, trippy layer to the mafia/syndicate vibes, making the stakes feel both psychological and visceral. It’s got bitey men, intense obsession, and enough emotional damage to keep you up until 3:00 AM. A little warning, You might find yourself crying over Opie the betta fish and weirdly craving an El Olvido Black 100s, even if you don't smoke.
I received this an ARC and I’m voluntarily leaving a review. I am obsessed with Tommy and Nico. I was hooked on this story from the first page and found it very hard to put the book down. This is a blend of childhood friends to lovers x literally the girl of his dreams x SHE saves HIM x mafia vibes.
Tommy’s sass and ability to be strong while also being vulnerable is unmatched. I truly love her as a FMC.
What an unexpected delight. Take note we all need more Tommy & Nico in our life, I completely feel in love with these characters and their story.
The yearning, my heartaches thinking about their story from when they first discovered each other until the conclusion of their story.
This book was the perfect mix of darkness and hope, the contrast between the two sides of their so unique. Think dark mafia vibes vs a world of imagination & dreams.
We have main characters in their 30s, possessive mmc, fiesty fmc, a second chance, yearning, heartbreak.....oh and a black cat.
The last 50% was unputdownable. I have read some of Randi's other books but this book, it what I needed right now.
I was lucky enough to receive an arc copy of Wildfire Dreaming, words and opinions are my own. As always please read the trigger warnings.
