Shadow (Riptide MC 6): A Riptide MC Romance

Rate this book
In my world, loyalty is everything and Wynter is mine. Mess with her, you answer to me.

Wynter -- Scary Guy lived up to his name, threatening to rape me and sell me as a whore. Not happening. I reached for the hidden blade at my ankle just as a tattooed biker wearing a Riptide MC cut stepped in to save me. The dude knew how to handle an asshole like Scary Guy without breaking a sweat. Gorgeous as he is, this biker isn’t just eye candy. I find myself kissing him in the middle of a crowd of nerds and superheroes. I have a thing for tough guys with tattoos. My head tells me to run, but I want more. I want him.

Shadow -- I noticed her the second she slipped in front of us, alert and watchful like she expected trouble just for existing. When some ape starts pawing her, I step in. Nobody manhandles a woman in front of me. I pretend she belongs to me, and she plays right along. I’m willing to do more than just talk tough if the bastard won’t back off. When he proves how stupid he is, attacking her in the parking lot, I’ve got the excuse I needed to beat some sense into him. Wynter’s mine, whether she knows it or not. Trouble’s not finished with her, and neither am I.

Contains violence, coarse language, vigilante justice, and adult situations. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after. Enjoy!

Award winning author Anne Kane lives in the beautiful Okanagan Valley with a bouncy little rescue mutt(Merlin the Wonder Dog), a slightly larger rescue dog (Lexi the Bouncy) a cantankerous Himalayan cat (Jeff), and too many fish to count. She has two handsome sons and seven adorable grandchildren. She's always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy so of course when she writes, she lets her imagination take over. The one thing the reader can always count on is that the main characters will live happily ever after, even if they have to defeat a few nasty aliens first.

When she's not busy writing the next great novel, she likes to kayak, hike, ride motorcycles, swim, skate, practice karate, play her guitar, sing and of course, read.

I like the heroine, hero, and his MC brothers' humor, teasing, and reactions. It's funny that the antihero is in costume at comic book convention and also that he attends that kind of place, but it's horrible that he dares to do his evil deeds there.
The heroine has enough hardships to deal with; as if that's not enough, a dangerous man has his eyes on her. This horrible situation makes me feel edgy and angry about such evil existing in the world. It's good that she also attracts the hero's attention, as he's capable, with the club, of dealing with that kind of horrific danger.

This biker romance stood out to me because it felt different from many others in the genre. While there is definitely romance and attraction, there is also a strong emotional core that kept me invested in the story.

The main characters meet at Comic-Con, where the heroine finds herself in a dangerous situation. When it becomes clear that she is being targeted by people with very bad intentions, the hero and his biker friends step in to help. From there, the story develops into much more than a simple rescue romance.

One of the aspects I appreciated most was the heroine's determination to fight for custody of her younger sister. She has had a difficult life, but her dedication to protecting and caring for her sister adds depth to her character and gives the story real emotional weight.

The hero is supportive from the beginning, and what I enjoyed even more was seeing the entire motorcycle club rally around her. The sense of community and found family added warmth to the story and made the relationships feel meaningful beyond the central romance.

There is also plenty of chemistry between the main characters. While the book never explicitly focuses on it, I got the impression that there is a noticeable age gap between them. The heroine seems to be in her early twenties, while the hero comes across as significantly older and more experienced. However, this is woven naturally into the story rather than becoming a major plot point.

Overall, I found this to be a unique and engaging romance. It combines suspense, family struggles, strong emotional support, and a satisfying love story in a way that feels fresh and memorable. If you're looking for a biker romance with heart as well as heat, this is definitely worth reading.

This was a fast paced and exciting read that starts off at a comic con and most everyone is in costumes. When Wynter notices a creepy guy making eyes at her, she quickly flees the room he's in, but to no avail. Shadow and two of his MC brothers are there and he catches her eye, as well. However, there was no ick factor - in fact, their chemistry sparked hotly between them with fun banter added ;) I love that Shadow was all-in to keep her safe by having her pretend to be his girl, only to find he wants her to truly be his. With a rescue and more intense drama, I was hooked on seeing how they'd all deal with this baddie who's into trafficking women, after he's, um, broken them in :( I really wanted him to get his comeuppance and was not disappointed. Shadow and his MC definitely delivered and I rooted hard for he and Wynter to get their HEA. With hot chemistry, humour, danger, drama, action, family and romance, this was a page turner for me. Good fun!

Book 6 of Riptide MC. Can be read as a standalone.

'Wynter’s mine, whether she knows it or not. Trouble’s not finished with her, and neither am I.'

The characters were very complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Good story. Wynter is at a sci-fi fair when she is accosted by 'Scary guy'. Shadow and two of his MC friends will stop him. She will be placed in MC protection and they will offer to help her in getting her sister out of foster care by providing a lawyer. This book has Wynter and Shadow being instantly attracted to each other. The book is full of drama, hot nights and a happy ending. I enjoyed the story.

They meet at a costume party when a creepy guy won't take no for an answer. It spills out into a fight when said creepy guy tries to abduct her in the parking lot and a fight ensues and a path begins. The drama is intense and the fallout is handled Riptide style. Shadow and Wynter had me connecting with them and cheering them on to finding a path to happiness.

Wynter is a sassy and capable woman. I love Shadow’s character. He’s a tough biker who’s protective and not shy about instantly claiming Wynter as his woman. A very hot read.
