Thank you to BookSirens and A.F. Cosentino for this ARC
This review contains NO spoilers! And all that is said is my honest and non-biased opinion.
I am not going to give spoilers or massive details of what happens in this book. That would be silly and counterproductive!
Release date for this book was 4th May 2026
I personally enjoyed this book, it was very well constructed and easy to read. Each short story left you thinking and wondering. However, even though each story left you questioning something, it was very easy to move onto the next.
I gave it only 3 stars as it was middle of the road for me, nice, easy, short and very interesting. But it didn't bring anything new to the already over welling horror scene. I was really hoping for something brand new, imaginative, something that left you in half a date for a few days.
But all that been said, it is a very good book.
Thank you again to BookSirens And A.F. Cosentino

A decent collection of 10 short horror stories. I’d say these lean more to a moderate level of horror, so if you’re not into anything too squeamish then these stories should be right up your alley. A lot of the themes seem to centre around comeuppance and karma. There are a few stories involving animals that might worry you — I’m an animal person and this had me worried a few times but overall, they weren’t over the top or cause for concern. A couple of other stories edging on taboo topics but again, nothing extreme.
There’s some botanical horror in The Sprouting (whose only two characters were horrible so I wasn’t really invested in them as people but karma and all that…), a bit of ancient almost cosmic horror in Dead Trees; some childhood trauma horror (watch your triggers here) in Battel The Monstur with an imaginative and tragic boy who fights back (this one was quite emotional and effective) …
I think it was a respectable mix of horror topics with nothing pushing boundaries too much – reminding me a bit of the style of Stephen King’s early short collections that edged around horror without overt explicitness while still having characters that were despicable doing despicable things. As a collection of horror, I would have preferred the shorts to have a bit more punch/intensity to them, but I can also see this author probably doing well with a longer form expansion of some of these stories as there are some great, imaginative ideas here that cry out for more exploration.
My thanks to A.F. Cosentino and BookSirens for the ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily and all opinions are my own.

This was such a fun and spooky read! I loved the variety of stories, and every one had its own twist, lesson, or creepy element that kept me hooked. I flew through this collection in a day because I was constantly telling myself "just one more story."
What impressed me most was how quickly I connected with the characters despite the short-story format. Each story felt unique and memorable, and I never knew quite what to expect next.
Crispy was definitely my favorite—it was equal parts fascinating and horrifying, and it's the story that's going to stick with me the longest. A great collection for anyone who enjoys spooky stories with unexpected twists! 📖👻

I really enjoyed this collection of horror stories. There's a nice variety to the stories, each with their own intricacies. While they were all definitely horror, I didn't find any of them extremely scary or excessively gory. As the title implies, the stories excel at giving you enough to frame the story and have your imagination fill in the rest. This is a great collection for when you want a horror story or several, but you still want to be able to sleep at night. I highly recommend Imagine the Horror for readers who enjoy short horror stories with monsters and supernatural aspects.

A fairly short book of well written short stories based around interesting concepts. Some of the stories had me thinking, and some left me a little disturbed.

The stories were short and good.
They had a decent dark intensity to them which keep you engaged.
Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a creepy short read.

I always like collections because you can get so many different styles of an authors writing. These horror tales are very tame, so good for someone just getting into the horror genre.

Thank you BookSirens for the opportunity to read this book. I had a lot of fun with the variety of stories. I did not want it to end.

I absolutely loved this collection.
This horror anthology is filled with short stories, each bringing its own unique nightmare. I always enjoy anthologies because every story offers something different, and this collection kept me engaged from beginning to end.
My favorite story was "The Necklace." It stood out the most for me and is one I'll be thinking about for a long time.
This is only the second book I've read by this author, and he has already become one of my favorite horror writers. His storytelling pulled me in from the very first page, and every story delivered something memorable, unsettling, or genuinely creepy.
If you're a fan of horror anthologies and enjoy dark, imaginative tales, I highly recommend picking this one up.
