I came to Wylde Mountain to yell at my best friend for missing my birthday.
I wasn't planning to stay. I wasn't planning to trip over a chair in a bar full of mountain men. And I definitely wasn't planning on him.
Boone Hadley.
Quiet. Massive. The kind of man who catches you before you hit the ground and doesn't say a word about it. He works in timber. Swings an axe like he was born holding one. Has hands the size of my entire future and a voice so low I have to lean in to hear it. Which means I'm leaning in a lot. I'm loud. He's silent. I'm chaos. He's steady. I talk too much. He says about ten words a day, and half of them are "yes, ma'am." We make absolutely no sense. But the way he looks at me? Like I'm the first interesting thing that's happened on this mountain in years? Like he's already decided I'm his and is just waiting for me to catch up? That makes sense.
And when a man that big finally puts his hands on me?
It's not gentle. It's not quiet. It's a free fall. And I don't want to be caught this time. I want to hit the ground. With him.

She never knew how to stay until his quiet made leaving hurt.
Nadia doesn’t come to Wylde Mountain looking for love. She shows up tired and angry because her best friend missed her birthday and built a life without her. Nadia is loud because silence asks too much, funny because honesty cuts too close, and restless because staying has never felt safe.
Then she trips, and Boone catches her before she hits the floor. He’s quiet where she’s chaos, steady where she spirals, and so contained that every glance feels intentional. He doesn’t chase attention or waste words, but when he looks at Nadia, he sees past the performance.
What starts as one charged accident turns into stolen silences, blunt kindness, a borrowed jacket, and a pull neither of them knows how to name. When weather traps them close, restraint starts to crack, and the almost between them becomes impossible to ignore.
After the heat comes the harder part. Nadia has to face the life she keeps leaving half-packed, and Boone has to decide whether loving quietly is enough if he never says what he wants. Their fall is fast, but the choice underneath it is real.
Nadia starts out restless and afraid to need anything permanent, then Boone’s steadiness shows her how badly she wants a place and person she can choose. Boone begins controlled and silent, but Nadia pushes past his restraint until quiet care becomes direct action. Together, they shift from physical pull into something vulnerable, where heat and stillness make staying feel like home.
An ultra-steamy, small town mountain, quiet lumberjack, loud chaotic heroine romance with forced proximity, opposites attract tension, protective heat, and an instalove pull. It explores restlessness, vulnerability, emotional restraint, fear of staying, intimacy, trust, chosen home, and connection that makes silence feel safe.
The Elevator Pitch: A restless woman arrives in a mountain town ready to confront the best friend who left her behind, only to fall straight into the arms of a man built from silence, restraint, and want. He says almost nothing, but every careful look and steady touch pulls her closer to the life she’s always been afraid to claim. As weather closes in and old fears rise, their connection becomes a question neither of them can dodge: what happens when leaving starts to feel more dangerous than staying?

One of my favorite things about Cindy’s books is spotting the threads that connect one series to the next, so I practically cheered when this story turned out to center on Rory’s best friend, Nadia. Yes, that Rory, the fearless helicopter pilot who swooped in to rescue the smokejumpers in the last series before falling hard for fellow pilot Ace. As impulsive and fiery as ever, Nadia barrels onto Wylde Mountain ready to give Rory a piece of her mind for missing her birthday. But beneath all that bluster, she’s really just missing her friend. Nadia is pure chaos in human form. She’s loud, confident, magnetic, and constantly in motion, never lingering anywhere for long. Which is exactly why her reaction to Boone Hadley feels so unexpected. The moment she literally stumbles into Boone’s arms, the world seems to go quiet. Not awkward quiet. Peaceful quiet. The kind that feels like finally exhaling after holding your breath for years. Boone is the ultimate rugged mountain man. Part lumberjack, part gentle giant and all steady calm. He’s the kind of man who says more with a glance than most people can manage with an entire conversation. Quiet, grounded, and completely unshaken by Nadia’s whirlwind energy, Boone becomes the one person who can silence the constant mayhem in her head. And the way he looks at her. Whew! From buying her a drink the night they meet while insisting it’s “just a beer,” to the moment he gives her his address so she can return his jacket, Boone does his best to keep his distance and maintain control. But when they’re trapped in his cabin by a storm that washes out the bridge back to town… well, there’s only so much restraint a man can manage. Turns out it’s the quiet ones you really need to watch. This is a deeply swoony opposites-attract romance packed with tenderness and small moments that hit surprisingly hard. A fantastic start to a brand-new series, and I’m already looking forward to more. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Falling for the Wylde Lumberjack was such a fun, cozy, smile-inducing read that I flew through it in one sitting. Between the gruff silent lumberjack, the chaotic sunshine energy of Nadia, and the small-town mountain atmosphere, this story had me grinning from beginning to end.
Nadia heads to Wylde Mountain planning to confront her best friend over a missed birthday—not fall headfirst into the arms of Boone Hadley. Literally. Their first meeting was adorable and instantly set the tone for the entire story. Boone is the classic quiet mountain man: massive, steady, hardworking, and speaking in barely more than a few words at a time. Meanwhile, Nadia fills every silence with energy, chatter, and complete chaos. They should make no sense together, but somehow they fit perfectly.
What made this romance so enjoyable was Boone himself. He may not talk much, but every glance, every touch, and every protective gesture says everything Nadia needs to hear. The way he watches her, like she’s become the brightest thing in his world, was honestly swoon-worthy. And when this giant lumberjack finally decides what he wants? That possessive “mine” energy absolutely delivers.
Nadia was incredibly relatable too. Her personality felt real, messy, funny, and full of life, which made the connection between her and Boone feel natural and entertaining. Their opposites-attract dynamic created so many sweet and hilarious moments, especially because Boone’s calm steadiness balances Nadia’s whirlwind personality so perfectly.
The mountain-town setting adds the perfect cozy backdrop to all the chemistry, humor, and steam packed into this short romance. If you love giant grumpy lumberjacks, sunshine chaos women, small-town mountain romances, instalove vibes, and quiet men who fall hard without needing many words to prove it, Falling for the Wylde Lumberjack is such an addictive and heartwarming read.

Falling for the Wylde Lumberjack is everything a short mountain romance should be—fast-paced, irresistibly swoony, and overflowing with chemistry from the very first page. Cindy Smoke delivers a delightfully addictive opposites-attract story that pairs a loud, lovable heroine with a quiet, rugged hero who says very little but somehow manages to say everything that matters. Boone Hadley is the kind of hero romance readers dream about: solid, protective, deeply attentive, and impossible to forget.
What makes this story shine is the balance between humor, heart, and heat. Nadia’s chaotic energy is the perfect match for Boone’s steady, grounding presence, and their dynamic feels both wildly entertaining and genuinely satisfying. The small-town mountain setting adds a cozy, atmospheric charm, while the emotional pull between these two keeps the pages flying. Every interaction feels charged, tender, and just the right amount of intensity.
For readers who love gruff-but-devoted heroes, sunshine heroines, instalove tension, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after, this book absolutely delivers. It’s a quick read, but it never feels rushed—instead, it packs a surprising amount of charm, steam, and emotional payoff into a compact story. Cindy Smoke knows exactly how to create characters readers can root for and a romance that leaves a lasting impression.
This is a standout start to the Wylde Mountain Timber series and a must-read for anyone craving a warm, sexy, feel-good escape. If you enjoy romances with larger-than-life heroes, sparkling banter, and instant emotional payoff, Falling for the Wylde Lumberjack deserves a place on your TBR—and very likely your favorites shelf.

When her best friend moves to the mountain and communication gets sparse, she decides to show up in person. It’s different than she expected. Her friend has a new job and a new man and everything is going well. She wonders if she might find her happily ever after someday when she trips over a chair and his rescued by a huge mounted man. There is something about him that immediately draws her in. He is as quiet as she is chatty. But the attraction is definitely mutual. When she goes to return a jacket, he loaned her and gets stuck in the storm, things heat up between them and get spicy. This is a fun quick read with a basic plot, a little bit of spice and happily ever after. This is part of a series however each couple has their own standalone and well characters may be introduced in other stories. They still play integral roles, so it isn’t necessary to read them however, if you do read them in order you build on the town, the backstory and the friend groups.

It's something she hadn't done before and living in one spot was not the problem but rather the place she needed all along. She is a good person and sped to town to check on her best friend which says a lot. She happens to meet someone who makes her feel.
She doesn't have a reason to stay here because who needed her? He did.
He and the town needed her. The residents are fantastic here and this man is from yet another crew of good men that help the town and work hard. No game playing and sees her for himself. They make a good pair and continue the happiness this town is apparently famous for. This cozy town is good luck and I cannot wait for more.

Boone and Nadia met accidentally, when his co-worker almost knocked her down, and Boone managed to catch her before she hit the floor. She came to Wylde Mountain to see her bestfriend that had forgotten her birthday. She was between jobs as a consultant. She never stayed in any one place very long. Boone never had much to say liking peace and quiet. That was something about Nadia, it was never quiet around her. But they just seemed to belong together from the very first moment. Boone knew, he wanted her, but would he get the courage to ask her to stay? A fun exciting read with some suspenseful moments.

I like all these stories by Cindy Smoke, but I can’t help but notice they all sound like those AI story videos you see on TikTok. The ones telling dramatic stories in an AI voice with cake decorating videos or gaming videos in the background. They always have sentences with odd comparisons like “the kind of slow that makes me aware of the exact moment the warmth leaves” or “with the calm patience of a man who has just caught something and hasn’t decided yet whether to set it down.” And the constant repeating of details like the specific time something happened, or the color of her suitcase, or where she was when she booked the room above the bar.
This is the first book in Wylde Mountain Timber series. So excited about this new series with big, sexy lumberjacks. Nadia was introduced in the last book of Wylde Mountain Smokejumpers series. Nadia is loud, impulsive, and misses her best friend which leads to an impromptu visit to Wylde Mountain. Boone is the silent lumberjack who notices Nadia as soon as she walks loudly in the bar. Nadia and Boone are a great company. Glad to see another group of guys and their chat group texts. Can't wait for the other lumberjacks' books. Im excited for another series to get lost in.

Nadia came to Wylde Mountain like a hurricane. She only came to see her best friend., and ending up falling into the arms of the man of her dreams. Boone is a massive mountain man. He is as solid and quiet as the trees he felled. He sees the free spirited chaos that is Nadia and decides that she is his. This was such a sweet OTT instalove romance. These two are total opposites they should not work but are drawn to each other like magnets. She is pure sunshine and chaos where he is grumpy quiet and steady. Great start to the new series.

Falling for the Wylde Lumberjack was exactly the kind of steamy, cozy getaway I needed. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and the mountain setting creates the perfect backdrop for their romance. I found myself completely swept up in the narrative, and honestly, this book has left me wanting to find a lumberjack of my own! The pacing is great, the characters are well-developed, and the "mountain man" tropes are handled with just the right amount of heat and heart. A fantastic start to the Wylde Mountain Timber series—I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for what Cindy Smoke writes next.
Falling for the Wylde Lumberjack is sweet and sultry. Sunshine talker Nadia who doesn’t know how to stay, literally falls into the arms of grumpy recluse Boone—and instalove blooms fierce and swoony. These two make quite the pair, and watching Boone’s crew point out the obvious while Nadia best friend calls her out is by turns hilarious and heartful. This is a quick and easy read with low drama and a super satisfying HEA.

She is visiting her friend. She is loud when she talks. She meets Boone when he saves her from face planting after tripping. He is the total opposite of her barely says anything even when being asked questions. But another lumberjack has the love bug what is he going to do? She is only there for a short time. Can he convince her to stay? Will she want to? I enjoyed their story and how previous characters from past story show up in this one.

Love the new series and can't wait to get to meet all these large sexy lumberjacks and the significant others who complete their world.
Boone and Nadia is a quick sweet romance. It reminds us that when you meet the right person everything even the silence has a different meaning. I loved their chemistry and how sweet all of their interactions were. It wasn't instant romance but it didn't take them forever to figure it out. When I have a lot of stuff going on these days I love these short stories.
I really liked these two, the way they communicated, reacted and how they went together so right, was lovely to see. They were surrounded by people who had an opinion and were not afraid of sharing it, which made for some entertaining moments. I believed in their connection and chemistry, that they would get their HEA and that they completed each other.

We had the Wylde mountain rescuers then the smoke jumpers and now the lumberjacks of Wylde mountain, a case of opposites attract when Nadia the fun loving and sunshine type of FMc is rescued by a gentle, brooding and man of few words Boone. Their attraction instant and their story filled with humour and heat. Great network of friends and look forward to getting to know more about them. A great start to the new series.
Book 1 of Wylde Mountain Timber story of Boone Hadley and Nadia. That was hilarious and had me smiling at these two as the love bug strikes these two and they find true happiness and love. I do the same thing Nadia did with my boys. I loved this relatable story.
