Some of the elements in this story were totally unexpected. When I read the blurb, I expected smoke jumpers, hot firefighters and steamy romance. While I got all of that, I also got an unexpected paranormal element. It wasn’t huge but added a little twist.
I loved the connection between Keanu and Cammie. I especially loved the flashback to how they first met when Cammie was just a kid. She decided right then and there that she was going to marry him one day. I loved seeing them work together and actually wished for more of those scenes.
I was intrigued by the suspense element to the story but was disappointed that the bad guy was revealed so quickly and that there wasn’t more danger to the couple prior to the reveal.
My biggest issue, was more of a surprise than a real issue. As I said before, there was an unexpected paranormal element. It went from a small gift that Keanu had until 80% and then BAM! bigger paranormal presence with shifters being introduced. At this same time, I felt like the book shifted from being Cammie & Keanu’s story to being about her mom and dad. I’m not opposed to reading about her mom and dad, but I would have rather seen a novella or the next book (assuming there is a next book) about them. Abruptly switching to their POV just interrupted the story and took me out of what was going on with Cammie and Keanu.
For me, the ending was just so-so. Keanu goes off to fight one last wild fire and we didn’t see any of it. Same with Cammie working while he was away. It all was just glazed over until they were reunited, some new/big info was dropped and then HEA, the end. It just happened a little too quick for me.
Overall, the book was enjoyable and I’d be willing to read more from the author and even books about other characters from this book (should the author make it a series).

Believe me, I would have enjoyed Firestarter if it was just a mainstream romance but, the introduction of the paranormal aspects just kicked this book up a notch.
No, it’s not your normal paranormal. Elle Boon has jumped from the wonderful Gods and warriors we have come to love in her Ravens of War series to Elementals – people who control fire, water, air, the earth. Enter Keanu Raine, an Elemental who can control fire and the woman who sets him aflame.
Cammie swore, when she was 12 years old, that someday her hero, the man who rescued her, would be hers. As she grew up, she never lost her feelings for the man who climbed that tree to get to her. Now that he is back in town, how is he going to take the news that she’s a firefighter herself? Will he look at the 12 year old kid a little differently now?
Keanu loved the adrenaline rush that he got as a Smoke Jumper. Working side by side with men that had their own special talents, he’s able to draw in the flames, hold them inside and let them burn out. He’s also able to start fires if he felt the need to. Coming home at the request of his grandfather, Keanu has a lot of surprises ahead of him. Someone is starting fires and killing people and, as it turns out, the next person they want out of there way is him. He’s standing in the way of the one girl that they want in their little group … Cammie. But, one date … working together … a second date and he’s found his mate, the woman that completes him. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect her.
What struck me as I was reading Firestarter was what a wonderful sense of humor Elle Boon has. Cammie was her own woman – strong, fierce and funny. She had it all but didn’t flaunt it. Keanu gave it right back to her when she started …. loved, loved, loved the references to Lorena Bobbit and my favorite quote from the book was “don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.” Laughed my ass off and so did Keanu … then he showed her how he was going to split her. Keanu was a very sexual man and he proved it to Cammie every chance he got – in a bed, against a car, on a rock. Yep, even in the shower. The references to firefighting were spot on and I loved that both of them embraced their Indian heritages.
So, bring it on Elle Boon. Give me Hal next and I’ll be happy to watch him fall to the same kind of love that Keanu found. I’m ready to take on the rest of the Smoke Jumpers and will welcome them with open arms.

A great start to a new series. The SmokeJumpers team is a diverse group of men with different abilities. FireStarter is Keanu's story and we travel with him as he goes back home. He runs into an all grown up Cammie and is instantly attracted. I love their history together. He rescued her when she was younger. Curious now? Ha, I'm not going to share what happened. You'll have to read the book to find that out. Keanu and Cammie start seeing each other and quickly develop serious feelings. Of course, this is a paranormal romance book so things aren't all rainbows and butterflies. There are bad guys, dangerous times, family secrets revealed, absentee fathers returning, and an emergency situation that needs Keanu's attention. Will their newfound love survive all this? Is she his one? Will he return to the FireStarter team? Which team member finds love next? I can't wait to find out. I recommend this book to anyone that loves paranormal romance, alpha men, sassy women, adorable dogs, and sexy times...very sexy times. Go buy this book now. Have a fan, some ice, and/or your significant other handy. Happy reading!

I swear every time I'm introduced to one of Elle's sexy Alpha males, it's like a strike right to my heart or.....umm....other areas lol I absolutely loved Firestarter but I knew I would before I even read a word. Elle Boon is definitely one of my insta click authors, you know the ones I mean, where u don't even have to know what the book is about but already know how Amazeballs the authors writing is so u automatically one click and buy! This story was definitely hard to put down. It had me so lost in the pages that by the time I looked at the clock it was almost 4a.m. This book seriously had me laughing out loud at some parts, like when Keanu says "That's not a dog, it's a damn horse" hahahahaha to funny. But don't be fooled Elle didn't forget to add that sexy spiciness we crave from her stories. One minute your laughing the next your running for a cold shower...well played Elle...well played♡♡ I NEED MORE ASAP!!! As always phenomenal job and can't wait to see what's next.

A new kind of firefighter
This book took me by surprise I wasn't sure what to expect I had always like Elle's books so when asked to do a review for her I jumped on the chance. I had no idea what the book was about except what the title and cover made me think. I loved reading something new I had never read a book about an Elemental before. Then to find out he can control fire and is a firefighter too. Holy hotness can I say. These two meet when she was still a kid but now she is grown and he knows she is his mate and she knows she has always loved him but is now in love with him. Follow this love story with some very dangerous twists and turns. Thank you Elle for allowing me the honor to review for you. I am now more of a fan than I was before.

Elle Boon is a new author to me and I was not disappointed by this first book to her new series. Firestarter has quite a variety of steam, suspense and emotion. The characters are unique and unforgetable. Keanu and Cammie are heating up the pages with more than just fire. With a mystery to solve and potential danger looming ahead will love overcome? You have to read it to find out, no spoilers here. I am definitely a life long fan of Elle's writing and can't wait for the next book.

This is my first book from Elle boon and can I say that it won't be my last..Cammie fell in love with Keanu the first time she met him . When he rescued her and when she meets him again she realizes that her feeling has only grown as she grew into a young woman. Keanu feels a deep connection to Cammie and can't help but fall in love with her as she is his soulmate. But not all is as it seems evil is lurking in the background. Will Keanu be able to keep Cammie safe when evil comes a calling???

After weeks and weeks of seeing this book and sexy cover i finally bought it, I already know that Elle Boon is a great writer but she for sure this will blow your mind its hot as.
Keanu has an incredible power which he uses it to fight the fiercest forest fires. He lives his life on a knife edge of danger as a Smoke jumper knowing his abilities and being a Fire Elemental can really save lives where others cannot.
when he receives a call to go home to investigate threats, he finds the one a gorgeous woman who calls to him heart and soul. He has no clue at all that the biggest blaze he would ever fight in his life, would be the one that Cammie Masters stirs deep in him.
Cammie could never forget her girlhood crush for handsome Keanu, but what she feels now is totally different its something bigger ..... desire. Can she trust that he will stay, or will he blow out of town yet again like he has done before?
When Cammie’s life is at Threatened, Will Keanu be able to find these men or beings who have his woman targeted, before they destroy her and his home town?
Elle Boon has hit a home run again this book is not like any normal romance it has unique Elements.. people that can control Fire, water, air, the earth. How cool right, I adore this concept and it should make some more amazing stories to come, i cannot wait to see how Elle tackles it.
Most of this fantastic book is building up on the romance feelings and emotions as well as the air of mystery.
I really loved the flashback to how they both first met when Cammie was just a child. She decided there and then that she was going to walk down the aisle with him one day. I enjoyed seeing them work together in harmony.
I just cant get enough the engaging characters Cammie and Keanu, There chemistry was smoking hot right from the start you new that he was a pantie dropper :)
“You’re playing with fire” he said evenly.
Cammie licked her lips “oh i think I like that.
besides, i’m trained fire fighter.
I can put out your flame.”
See smoking hot chemistry, Elle also brings us some humour which i find adds that lil bit extra to a book when you can have that LOL moment.
“the thing would surely split her in two. She could see the headlines.
women dies from extremely large penis tearing her in two.
yep, her mama would be so proud.”
I got so Intrigued by the bad guy yes he was revealed quickly but it was done in such a fantastic way, Omg what a baddie he was so out of this world crazy.
And now im left with wanting more so much more of this fantastic unique series, Fingers crossed that Hal is Next. ooo scratch that i just seen the front cover for Hal's book..... swoon.

Finding the man you are going to marry at the ripe old age of six, seems a bit young but Cammie is determined that her savior is the one. Fast forward into the future and at least Cammie’s determination to be a fire fighter like her knight in shining armor has been met. But with the suspicious fires in the forest surrounding her home town, Cammie gets her chance at her man. Will she be successful or doomed to have a childhood dream crushed?
Keanu has found his calling amount the elite team of firefighters. All his teammates are special so he doesn’t need to hide his “special” skill. But when his grandfather asks him to return home, he never expected it to be permanently, that is until he meets Cammie. I liked Keanu. His family was important to him and he respected where he came from. I also liked Keanu and Cammie together. He immediately knew that Cammie would be important to him and took steps to make sure she would become a fixture in his life. I loved that even as he didn’t recognize the precocious little girl he once saved, he appreciated the woman she had become. He never acted as though her skills were less because she was a woman in a predominantly male field. And Cammie was equally well written. She was determined but did not have a chip on her shoulder. She was open-minded even as she struggled to understand that Keanu came with something a bit extra. I loved how well Ms. Boon wove these two characters together. They respected each other even as they fell in love. Their chemistry was full of heat and extremely believable. FireStarter is first in the Smoke Jumpers series and I can’t wait to see who is next to fall in this new series by Elle Boon.

Keanu Raine is a smoke jumper, him and his team jump out of a plane into the middle of the fire to put it out. When they were done with this fire, Keanu felt something was off and someone was trapped in the middle of this. Raine and Hal went searching for something and found in a section they must have missed a small boy in a tree.
Raine later said something spooked his grandfather and he was headed to his old home. Keanu was known as a fire breather in the world of elementals, he could create a small or large blaze and then suck it back into his body. That is why when he was an adult he became a fireman, he then had to burn off the energy he consumes. All the men in his team had some special abilities.
Cammie Masters loved McKinley Landing, when Cammie was 12 she got her foot caught in a tree that she climbed. She had heard noises and thought their was a beast coming to eat her. She told him not to eat her. The man climbed real fast to see what was up. Cammie gazed at him and decided she would marry him some day. He told her about his grandfather the shaman of their tribe, and he got her unstuck and had her climb on his back so they could get down. He though she couldn't walk so he carried her and told her about his new job of being a smoke-jumper, she wanted to cry. But she decided she would be just like him. His name was Keanu Raine.
Cammie hears that Raine is coming to work at her fire station.

FireStarter Some Jumpers series Book 1 by Elle Boon BLAZIN' HOT!
I love this book and I love this author, Elle Boon. I read Elle’s Mystic Wolves series and was sure there would never be another book boyfriend to replace the Malik brothers but was I wrong. This is the first book about elementals that I have read and the whole concept of a human controlling Air, Earth, Wind or Fire is fascinating. Cammie Masters has been in love/crush with Keanu since he rescued her from a tree when she was twelve. The desire she feels for him ten years later is definitely that of a grown woman. Did I mention that their interaction is HOT right from the beginning? Oh My! Good thing Keanu can control fire.
Both Cammie and Keanu are firefighters in their hometown of McKinley Landing. Keanu returns from ten years with the Smoke Jumpers who fight forest fires all over the western states, to investigate suspicious fires that have been started in town. oh the imagination ms boon has is a shear delight. The characters and their abilities are are mystifying. This author has captured my heart with her unique plot twist and ideas for story telling I can’t wait to see which characters she writes next and what special ability they will have. I am not sure which i love more.. smoke jumpers, were wolves or those sexy ravens of war….
“the thing would surely split her in two. She could see the headlines. women dies from extremely large penis tearing her in two. yep, her mama would be so proud.”
Keanu Raine- started off a fireman until his special ability was discovered then he was required to be a member of the smoke jumpers that help put out some of the most deadly fires but when his grand father summons him home he knows something is wrong.
Cammie masters was rescued at a young age by the handsome firefighter and swore he would be her husband who knew they would meet again at the firehouse when he comes back home. And sparks would ignite between them can they put a stop to the danger?

It was OK - a 2.5* ok.
Keanu is a fire elemental so basically he manipulates fire. He is a smokejumper and fireman, a job that allows him to use the fire and his powers to save lives.
He saved a little girl before leaving town and now that little girl grew up to be the woman of his dreams.
Cammie is a firefighter herself. She promised she will marry Keanu, her savior and as soon as she met him she knew why she waited for him.
I liked the premises of the book american indians with supernatural powers: elementals, shifters, berserkers. A little bit of everything but the dialog was...meh...A man calling his woman hussy....not really my thing, minx would have worked better for me. And for some reason the Lorena Bobbit reference was not a welcome thought...not really a good reference.
The corny dialogue and lack of clear direction of the story put me off, completely. The story shifted direction when Cammie parent's got together and it felt rushed, not logical. Explanations face to face to a long lost daughter I would have loved to read about.
The story didn't feel complete. Maybe the fact that it is a short book impacted the delivery.
The shifter books from Elle Boon were much better written and the corny dialog was not as visible.
The idea that EB had is great just the delivery needed more work, for me.
I will not read the second book because they's that much I can take from a corny dialogue. I will stick to EB shifter stories.

Its Aflame With Heat!
Elle Boon is a new Author to me and I bought this book to see what I thought oof her work. Well I now have Berserkers Rage and Miami Inferno too!
Ms. Boon's imagery is superb! She sets up the scene with finesse and skill unrivaled. I really loved her characters and story line too. Cammie is just a Kid when we meet her. But when Keanu saves her while trapped in a tree the child Cammie vows to one day be a firefighter and to marry Keanu. We skip ahead a few years and the now adult Cammie meets Keanu again when he comes back home at his Grandfathers request, to help find the arson who has been setting fires in and around his hometown. Cammie realizes that her hero worship has matured to real love as they fight side by side trying to stop the evil in their town.
I loved this book so much I started the second book in the series immediately after I read the first! And already Berserkers Rage has more than shown itself to be as good as the first. 4.75 Stars from me.

FireStarter was an amazing read and my only complaint is that I got through it too fast. I absolutely loved it. It is the kind of book that sucks you in immediately with the power of a Hoover and doesn't let go. It has some nice twists and enjoyable turns. FireStarter is book one of the Smoke Jumper series which I am so very excited about. After meeting Hal I want his story!!
The writing is engaging and the details are perfect to enlist the senses. The characters are funny, I laughed quite a few times with Keanu and Cammies banter and antics. As a new reader of this author’s work, I took one look at the cover of this book and I immediately thought “Sweet, another fire fighter romance.” Not that there is anything wrong with that, I mean who doesn’t love reading about a hot fireman? I began reading, or maybe devouring would be a more apt description, I realized this was not your typical firefighter story. I was immediately sucked into a story unlike any others I’ve read. And this says a lot considering I have been known to read an entire full length book in about a day.
Keanu is not your average fireman. As a fire elemental he can, not only control fire, but he can also take it into himself. The concept of elementals is new to me and one I would definitely like to read more of in the near future.

Absolutely wonderful I loved this book.
This book was hot. Smoking hot. I loved this story and man what a story. Cammie and Keanu are freaking hot. Cammie is a firefighter who's lives in a small town. I love to read Elle Boon books!! The Firestarter is fantastic. There is action and romance thru out the story. When Keanu met Cammie twelve years earlier, when he helped her all of a tree, he didn't know she was his soul mate. Then when he can home to work in the fire department he found her again and sparks flew. He was totally surprised that she was a firefighter too. There were several fires and they fought them side by side. They find themselves loving each other then someone tried to kill her and everything breaks loose. There are turns that you don't expect in the story. I would recommend this book to everyone to read.

First....love the name Keanu. Right away I think of Reeves, but now I will think of Raine. Funny that he is fire but his last name is rain. The fact that Cammie's last name is fire is even funnier. To say that Keanu and Cammie's passion burns hot, is cheesy I know, but it does.
This is a new PNR from Elle Boon. She never disappoints when it comes to entertaining me through her books. This one is no different. I have a feeling with this series we will see it all, elementals, shifters, and a few other things we can think of.

Great New Series
Keanu is a Native American elemental, with the power to control fire. His Shaman grandfather calls him home to deal with trouble brewing in his hometown. There he meets a woman he is greatly attracted to, gets a fireman job that is right up his alley, and faces danger from homicidal maniacs. I loved his character. I also loved his grandfather, an old fashioned man of wisdom. And the woman he wants is sexy but also innocent, strong and independent, just perfect for him. Unfortunately a crazy person also wants her. Great book, great characters, great plot.

What a great book. This is a first for me from this author and I loved it and am really looking forward to more. Thank you Elle, I love when some one stands out.

Keanu (love the name) brings to life this story of suspense & smexy love with Cammie. I love the paranormal twist with it, fire element to it. Being able to control that power is wicked hot haha pun intened. It takes strength and control we see within Keanu to do this. The twists in book are well written in and the plot follows through to the end. I hope there is more to come I would love another peek back at this couple to see how they are faring.

This one had it all. From shifters to smoke jumpers. You will never get enough. The only bad part of the book is the last page. This is because you are so lost in the story you want it to go on forever. Wonderfully written and characters you laugh with and fall hard for. Sexy and fun all wrapped in these pages. All I can say is I dare you not to be addicted to this authors works now.

I have to say that I enjoyed FireStarter quite a bit. I wasn't expecting it to have paranormal undertones to it, but it did. Those undertones morphed the story from a good romance to one that had some heat (pun intentional). I loved Keanu and Cammie...and the unexpected twist with Cammie's parents was well-played. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books in this series.

OH I so loved this book. It is very well written. I can picture Elle Boon sitting writing this book with some of the comments. My favorite one was "Holy Mary, Mother of all that is divine, I think I just saw Jesus H Christ" It is a great story. I can't wait for the next one. Oh I think Hal needs a book.

I have never read any other elemental shifter books so I have nothing to compare this to, but This was hot hot hot....(pardon the pun) Elle has a way of bring her characters to life. This was amazingly shown as she captured the life of Fire with Keanu and the love with Cammie, of my.....nice, Great job!!!

What I liked about this book was that Cammie isn't a helpless women. Which you see in a lot of book. I would recommend this book to people older then 18. Because it a erotic novel and it has soon part that aren't appropriate for younger readers. The reason why I chose five stars was because it get in to detail and I can picture my self there.
