His Little Moth I was built to be flawless. No scars. No voice. They dressed me in silk and called me a masterpiece. Smiled at me like I should be grateful for the cage. When the monster came for me, I didn't scream. I negotiated.
Her Ghost I was ordered to kill her. But she looked at my blade and asked for a scar, and I knew — I wasn't the most dangerous thing in that room. She calls me a monster. She's not wrong. But she's the one they should be afraid of.
Alexandra Hunter writes dark romance that lives in the space between obsession and surrender. She is the author of the first book in the Haunted Wings duet, with more stories already taking shape. Writing is where she finds her truest creative freedom, trading carefully crafted messages for characters who refuse to behave. Her process is anything but distant. A method writer at heart, Alexandra has been known to adopt her characters' habits while she writes. The legal ones, at least. She shares her home with three cats and a dog, all of whom have strong opinions about her writing schedule.
I really enjoyed the slow burn to the spice which was after 50% and the tension leading up to it, I think it suited Killian and Ivy.
One thing that lacked for me personally was the lack of other characters and influences such as friends and family, briefly in the beginning you get some parts with Ivy's dad . But Ivy and Killian are quite lonely people, Ivy has no family after her dad and Killian only has Silas.
I think I just struggled abit to read a book that was just so centred around the two main characters and nothing else going on apart from the ledger and Silas.
Another thing was I would have liked abit more character development with Ivy, her upbringing, her mum and how she got in the position Killian found her in, Apart from being pristine and untouched but touched by others it would have been nice to delve abit more into her trauma and why she is the way she is.
The way this man yearns is unmatched😍😍😍 Ivy and Killian have my heart and Killian will be added to my book boyfriend list ASAP.
An amazing debut novel from Alexandra Hunter. I have to say this is such a fun and bingeable book that will both make you giggle and kick your feet as well as cry and feel so many emotions.
Besides the captivating storyline, Alexandra’s writing style is so expressive and fresh, she makes you feel, smell, see and taste everything which adds to the experience.
I loved this book sooo much and I hope you will too. ❤️
I can’t wait to see what they will up to in the next one.
( ARC was provided by the author) I am so glad that I got to read this book. There’s something about Ivy and Killian, and how they fit , how well they fit with each other, that is beautiful to witness, And the author does it wonderfully. The prose is effective, every moment hits its mark perfectly. It’s a great debut, and the perfect layout for a duology! Can’t wait to read more from Alexandra !
