I couldn't but this book down once I started! I loved Aaron and Keira's story from the very beginning in book one and being able to continue their love through this book had me hooked immediately! Their passion for each other is even stronger in this book and the trials they are put through only show the strength of their bond even more! Max and Anna take the spotlight a few times throughout the book making me hope that book four will highlight them completely because I NEED to see Anna find her inner strength and confidence just as Keira has done already so beautifully! The journey through "Loved by a Dragon" is an adventure of emotions. I laughed, I cried and I was giddy with joy...all the while getting glared at by my husband when I put my hand up telling him to stop talking and interrupting my reading lol! Oh and did I mention there were a few times I wanted to throw my iPad and jump into the book and yell at a few characters during the moments of stupidity lol!
If you loved Aaron and Keira in book one then you won't be disappointed...actually you will be left happy, in tears and possibly in withdrawals when you are finished but if you're like me you'll have book 4 on your wish list and be on countdown lol!
First thoughts: 4.5 Stars This is a pretty good series, novels, novellas, freebies, and all. I love the way Ms Hopkins has created her dragons..the way the develop as they mature, how they transform, their powers, their culture, even their dietary requirements. All so well thought out and consistent throughout not just this book but the series. I recommend reading the series in order to follow the whole storyline as the relationships and story build through the series and it really helps to know people as they come and go throughout the series, families, clans, enemies, mistresses, etc. Recommended
Loved by a Dragon captured my emotions. Though I thought the story might be about Anna it is actually a continuation of Aaron and Keira's story. I was happy when I realized this book extended their love story. Aaron is called by the prince to help with a rogue dragon problem. Taking Kiera with him the experience at court is quite unpleasant for Kiera who is from a small village and unaccustomed to the intrigues of court. This causes a problem in her already strained marriage and her leads subsequent experiences. very unpleasant events. Though the book is about Aaron and Kiera there is some development in Anna's story which I'm hoping will continue and be the focus of the next book. Love can be an overpowering emotion and Aaron is consumed to the point he questions himself. Kiera doubts her husband's love. I felt like telling them to stop doubting and just follow their hearts. The same could be said for Anna and Max. The real action took place in the latter half of the book and was intense at some points. Overall the characters were well developed, the plot was well done and wrapped up the main story neatly. It does leave open questions about what will happen to Anna, so in that respect the development of a subplot with Anna is left open at the end and not wrapped up. Recommended for older teens and adults.
I love this series. I was given this book in exchange for my review. I started this book today and didn't put it down until I finished it. This story picks up where book one left off. Kiera and Aaron have been married for a few months. Anna is living with them and another Dragon, Max, stays with them. Aaron has to go to the city to deal with a rogue dragon. He takes Kiera, Anna and Max with him. Kiera and Aaron have struggles to deal with in this book. We get to see the interactions of Anna and Max. I wants to yell at Anna to wake up. I can't say too much more, without taking away from you chance to experience the story yourself. I went through many emotions reading this book. Happy with the romance, anger at the miscommunication, sadness and joy. This story had it all. There HAS to be another book in this series and I am anxiously awaiting it. Again, I greatly appreciate her ability to write and a story full of romance and passion and still keep it clean. Thanks to Linda Hopkins for this chance to read her story. Linda is one author that will always be an automatic purchase for me. Go get this book and get lost in the story.
I fell in love with Bound by a Dragon and Loved by a Dragon was just as good. I've preordered Dance with a Dragon because I can't wait to see what happens with Max and Anna. This is a fabulous enchanting story that held my attention from start to finish. There is a lot of chemistry between Aaron and Keira. Both are tested and must trust true love to find happiness and the future together they so desire.
Second chapter: In a short synopsis Anna is getting over being kidnapped by a mad abusive man. Enter Max an arrogant idiot who offends
I found this book distasteful. An insult to feminist women. An insult to the intelligence of women overall. Unbelievable that an author would find it entertaining to read an adult man verbally insult and provoke a woman who had been kidnapped. Ridiculous premise to think the woman will get over it and fall in love with such a man
This is a really great series. So far I've enjoyed each book in this series. This one left me hanging a little bit. But I can't wait to see what happens with Anna in the next book. Now that she is more grown up.
Oh my these men/dragons are really firey! I like that the women are strong in Linda's books. And of course the dragons are true honorable men. Great love story. Keep 'em comin". Great reads.
Let me start of by saying this book was great but it wasn't without its disappointments, hence 4/5. The plot was good, I liked that the author followed and developed Aaron and Keira's story a little more instead of finishing of at the end of last book. The unique factor of their relationship was one of them was a dragon and that comes with its own insecurities and issues, which was elaborated beautifully in this book. I also liked that Aaron and Keira remained true to their character and we as readers get to know and love their journey a bit more. Also enjoyed Favian and Cathryn's presence and a constant but cute bicker between Anna and Max. I was pleasantly surprised by Max's growing affections and it was very much visible to everyone except Anna.
All in all a welcome addition to a good series. Looking forward to the next one.
In Bound by a Dragon one finds a truly respectable man in Aaron. He treats Kiera with so much love and respect that you can't help but believe that this is the way he always was. In 'Loved by a Dragon' the truth of his past rendezvous with seemingly any willing suitor comes out and it really does unfortunately taint his character and makes the whole, 'being in love with a beast' a little less appealing.
Max is clearly a chauvinist and Anna a spoilt brat. I didn't like Anna in this book until the very end, but I thought I was warming up to Max only to find him to be exactly what his first impression made him look like. Anna is almost raped by a band of thieves on the way to Drake Manor and instead of Max being there to stop it before it got as far as it did, he rocks up just in time to stop the men from actually raping her. The one man forces kisses on her, rips her dress and chemise open so her chest is exposed etc. Anna had in the last book gone through an attempt at murder. She was still a child and she was just recovering from that truama. Max should NOT have allowed her to be placed in another dangerous situation, and instead of being understanding of that, he along with Thomas the keeper of Storbrook, takes pleasure in seeing her nakedness exposed. The dragon men are starting to wax less and less attractive as I get deeper and deeper into the books. Anna had every right to distrust Max after his disgusting, unacceptable behaviour. Yet, the story seems to want to make her out to be a little brat. I loved reading this book, but the feminist in me is screaming! Why are women attracted to these types of men. They are not worthy.

The 2nd book in the Dragon Archives series, and Aaron's and Keira's love story continues, however a threat which looms on the horizon threatens this love. Aaron is requested to attend the prince at court, as a rogue dragon is on the loose and killing humans, thus threatening the prince's realm. Keira and Anna her sister, and Max a dragon loyal to Aaron his master, travel to the city. Aaron is asked to help in seeking out the dragon but as he plans to kill whoever this rogue is the lives of Keira and Anna are put in great peril as they are abducted by the same dragon threatening the realm. Jack is out to fight Aaron to gain master status from him, however he is dishonourable in the way he goes about doing this. Dragons have their own rigid rules of conduct, loyalty and honour and Aaron is the most honourable of them all, he does not hold the title of master for nothing, or take his responsibilities lightly, as Jack was to find out to his detriment. Anna wishes to find her own love however she disparages Max, the one trying to woo her. She has a prejudiced mindset and is ready to brand him a traitor and judge his actions without knowing the true facts. This 2nd book is heart stopping at times, a definite page turner and one which leaves us wanting to read further into this awesome romantic shifter series, so onward to book 3!
I liked this story as much as I did the first and I would recommend reading or listening to this series in order, so nothing is missed. There were thigs I liked and disliked about this story. I enjoyed the narrator's voice. I still dislike Keira's mom Jenny, but I love her father, Richard. I'm still enjoy Keira and Aaron as newlyweds but there were times when both of them let things that happen in the past affect their present. Their love for each other however was undeniable and I love when the two of them spend time together. Anna has a lot of growing up to do and although I know her character is young there were a lot of times when I wished she just acted a bit mature. I enjoyed Max a lot and I think that his and Anna's relationship will blossom into something beautiful. I can't wait to see how things turn out for them. Even though they are not together yet, I know that it's just a matter of time and I'm anxiously waiting to see how it plays out. Parts of the story was a bit repetitive and predictable at times, but I enjoyed it a lot. There was back and forth banter that was funny, it was steamy, had surprises, revenge, betrayal and deaths.
This is turning into such a great series. The author did a great job of creating a story that will draw you in and make you want more. The characters are intriguing and the plot is interesting. The story itself will toy with your emotions and keep the pages turning. Aaron and Keira are now married. Keira is still adjusting to being married to the master of all dragons when Aaron is called by the Prince to court. There is a rogue dragon in town terrorizing and eating people. Aaron decides to take Keira with him to court which opens up a whole new set of problems. Kiera is from a small village and the experience of court is quite unpleasant for her. Aaron is torn between remaining the dragon master or giving it up for his marriage. Then it happens. Kiera and her sister Anna are taken by Jack the rogue dragon. He intends on challenging Aaron for the dragon master role and he uses Kiera as bait. Then all heck breaks loose. Aaron is furious when he finds out & sends his right hand Max in undercover. The ending to this was just fantastic. Can't wait for book 3.
Keira and her mother disagree over what makes a good husband, but the truth is, prospects in her village are slim. So when Aaron Drake arrives in the village and sets his sights on her, she cannot help but be interested. It's not just his handsome looks or easy confidence that captures her attention, but rather an air of otherness. Something that sets him apart. But Aaron is not the only new arrival. A fire-breathing dragon has taken up residence in the surrounding mountains, and the villagers are certain that it is just a matter of time before the creature destroys them all. There is more to the creature than meets the eye, however, and when danger comes it is not from the dragon, but from one of their own. But it is Keira's heart that is most at risk, and she must decide if she can pay the price that love demands. — Overall I enjoyed this book. 4/5 stars.
I bought this book because of the ending insert bating the story of max and anna. Dont get me wrong the book was indeed great and showed their relationship starting only to be taking away and left for you guessed it another book. Im done. I will never read another book from this author. I refuse to buy another book after the first promised me one story but gave me more about kiera and arons relationship. I am highly disappointed and wasted money. 1 star. Dont bother. All about the sells. *eye roll*
Wow! I am loving this series. I was already familiar with dragons having the ability to take human form due to the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull, but Linda K. Hopkins captures the dichotomy of the man and beast occupying the same soul. Intense emotional interactions with plenty of physical action too. I was surprised more than once by the turns of events and am looking forward to reading Dance with a Dragon, the next book in the series.
As I like to read with my daughter (she loves it when mom reads her books!) I read this. middle of a series - will have to scratch out the first two.
Very sweet - all the elements she loves - romance, dragons. Sort of a Cinderella story with the prince being a dragon (who can transform into a handsome man).
A continuation with Kiera and Aaron, the Dragon Master, Anna the sister and Max, another dragon who gets under Anna's skin in many ways. There was a bit of 'my sweet', but not as much. However, Anna is ridiculous and 17. I don't know if I can do another one of these. I like the dragons, but the people are just small-minded and dense.
I read this book in 2-3 days. I had a hard time putting it down. I just had to know what happened next. Plus it was so easy to get lost in this world. I smiled, laughed and cried as the characters did. I look forward to the next book and losing myself again.
I love these books they are written so well and as a woman that loves dragons and wishing they truly did exist this book gives me a world to escape too
