On September 11, 2001, the author was present in the North Tower of the World Trade Center when the first plane struck. He descended through cracked concrete and smoke, reached the street as the South Tower collapsed, and stood in the dust of lower Manhattan as the North Tower fell.

That night, sitting on the floor of his apartment, he began asking a question that would take twenty-five years to answer: Why do we suffer? What is the nature of consciousness? And what actually survived that morning?

Born from Dust follows that inquiry — through physics, neuroscience, philosophy, and direct examination of consciousness — to arrive at a first-principles argument that consciousness precedes the physical universe, that every form is a temporary expression of one original substance, and that what survived September 11 was never in danger.

For anyone asking why suffering persists despite achievement, success, and security — this book examines that question honestly and without asking the reader to believe anything. It asks only for direct examination of experience that every reader already has access to.

This is not a trauma memoir. It is not a religious book. It is a path to enlightenment grounded in honest inquiry.

After reading this book, I can see how, my identities are influencing my thoughts and actions. I have been practicing Vipassana for years, but now, I can enter that meditative state more quickly and maintain it longer.

I really like the author's take on reality, the universe (space and time), and the individual's relationship with it. The discussion from the viewpoints of physics, neuroscience, and consciousness is very interesting. I understand that the author put a great deal of thought and time into writing the book.

Really insightful and interesting read. The author's account of their experience on 9/11 is so descriptive, vivid, and immersive that you feel like youre right there with them.

What I liked about the book is that, in some ways, the book felt like a debate. Everytime I disagreed with something mentioned, the author would bring it up the same perspective and disprove it. I also really liked the more scientic and techincal aspects of the book

The reflections on the experience, the concept of Omnistratum, and the takeaways are really insightful and thought-provoking. The idea that we are all made of the same matter regardless of religion, background, or upbringing is very powerful and in a world that so often focuses on what divides us, it's beautiful how this book reminds us of what we share
