Tamara never expected to be the center of a love triangle, especially one involving a ghost. As she grows increasingly attracted to long-dead Cal, her co-worker, Dex, pays closer attention to her. Awkward.
For fifteen minutes each night a portal opens in her barn and a horde of ghosts spills into her yard. She and Dex work together to find a way to help Cal and the thousands of spirits stuck in the void to cross over. When she learns she has the ghost touch—the ability to touch the ghosts as if they were corporeal—and she accidentally helps a little boy cross, she believes it might be possible. But not all the spirits play nice and when they learn they can sip energy from her ghost touch, they become greedy putting her life at risk.
Each time Cal has to pull her from the mass of ghosts, her touch restores him more and more until he is at danger of being stuck on earth—forever, which is very enticing to Tamara the better she knows him. Will she and Dex figure out how to help the spirits cross and if they do, will she be able to let Cal go?
Ghost Touch by L.A. Dragoni is a fantasy and a romance novel. It is also a love triangle, weird I know but it works. It is a rather short read but has a lot in it. A great plot, romance, heart break, thought provoking, great fantasy, and more. A young adult novel but I think adults would like this too, I know I did and I don't like romance but with the great fantasy thrown in there, it made it so much more exciting and richer. I received this to read and the review was voluntary.

My Review
Ok. This book. This apparently is not the original cover, and if I had based it off the original, I probably never would have requested it.
Yes, one of the main character’s is a ghost, but I didn’t know he was a freakin skeleton! Not as romantic if you ask me, and I can see why someone said, “Maybe we should do a cover change?” Yep, good idea…because if I saw THAT on my bookshelf I would probably delete the file for fear of nightmares.
Above we have the pretty hands reaching towards each other with a misty background, and it’s a beautiful idea that one would love a ghost.
Yes, a beautiful “idea.”
Tamara is a technical writer who recently lost her mom. At 19, she runs her family’s farm all by herself…and she has recently been plagued by nightmares. Nightmares involving disfigured ghouls trying to chase her and grab her. When she goes out to the barn one night to investigate a noise, she comes to find that her nightmares have come to life: there is a real-life portal in her barn and ghosts of all kinds are spilling out into her backyard.
As she’s freaking out (as I imagine anyone would when seeing a pool of ghosts in your yard), a skeletal man wearing a cowboy hat introduces himself as Cal. Unsure of his past and reason for not crossing like the other ghosts, he has been around this Ghost group for awhile. They have 15 minutes a night to essentially come out of the vortex and, I don’t know, “stretch their legs,” and Tamara doesn’t understand why her barn, why she personally, has been picked as a local “haunt” for the ghosts. (Get it? Haunt?)
But Cal knows why: Tamara has the Ghost Touch: she can see and communicate with them, in hopes of helping them cross to the other side. But Tamara doesn’t know how to do that, and either does Cal. But as they spend more time together, Tamara is drawn to Cal and his kind and gentle disposition (yes, she seriously starts to fall in love with a skeleton! I know!!)
When Dex, the dressed-down hunky coworker, finds out about Tamara’s ghost infestation, he pulls a ghostbusters and decides he wants to help. They together must find a want to help Cal and the others to cross, or they’ll be stuck like this forever. The only problem? Maybe Tamara isn’t so eager to let Cal go…
Ummm. Ok.
What did I just read? This was a YA/NA paranormal romance, and though the story is written well (no typos really and very clear writing), and though I actually cried at the end (what can I say? I’m a sucker for a love story), this was a strange read.
We never really know why or how the vortex is there. We never know why there’s a time limit. We do learn some other “Ghost facts according to Dragoni,” and a lot of other spiritual stuff is discussed in the book…but it’s too short and too obvious how the book will end, and that’s not what I was looking for. I wanted some cute ghost love story like my fantasy books (since I love them) to read and gush over. I only read paranormal bc it’s usually extremely similar to fantasy. It was a cute little story with some feels from Tamara, but we never really get attached to either of the men in her life, who fight over Tamara like a side of meat.
I didn’t dislike it, but I didn’t love it either. Once again it was a meh story with a nice fluffy theme and some sad stuff at the end. Which as you know is not normally my cup o tea. I probably would have ended it much differently, and maybe that’s why i wasn’t thrilled with it. Who knows?
So all in all, for being 140 pages, I give Ghost Touch ★★★☆☆. Meh.
I wondered how this would work out. People have varying opinions on books with ghost love interests. What I liked was that at the end, the author poses that question to you and asks you to email your thoughts on it.
Dex is Tamara's coworker. She enlists his help after being caught tired all the time since the night the ghosts would come out every night at 1:30 every morning for 15 min. She learned she could help them but she didn't know how or why she even could. Cal in his cowboy clothes and his skeletal remains with an earthly smell seem to relax Tamara. She finds she can touch him. And as days pass she sees that her touch makes him more corpeal and takes some energy from her. She doesn't seem to mind. But Dex, well he minds. Although Tamara is just not really focused enough to see it! Now she has two love interests.
It really isn't till the end do you find out whom she chooses and what happens to all these other ghosts- both good and bad.
I totally believed it could happen in the story. I got sucked into this train of thought and loved how it ended. I read that the author is making a series of this topic. I'm excited to read those too. The story sucked me right in and I read it all in a few hours straight! I loved her writing and was able to see and smell things in my head with her descriptions. The romance is really a backburner to the story.
If you like ghosts, hauntings, grief, finding love and seeing different forms of it, dogs, cows, horses, weddings, coworkers, than this might be for you.

I liked this book! It was a nice and interesting read, hard to put down. And I liked the weird romance and even weirder love triangle. At first I didn't understand how Tamara could be "attracted" (although that's not really the right word) to Cal, seeing that he was a sort of skeleton with no eyes, no skin, no facial expression and whatever. But then, it's really no different than falling for someone you've never seen but chat with them everyday online or through mail, right? You actually fall for the person they're inside and then for how they look on the outside. And Cal was really sweet and charming. And yeah, I might have a thing for cowboys, but whatever. I liked Tamara, she was a good person and a good character. She was sweet and brave. I didn't like Dexter at first, and I came to like him better later on in the story, but I was still rooting for Cal, although I knew it was an impossible love. I knew. But that doesn't mean I couldn't, wouldn't, hope for Tam to have a future with him. The ending was a bit sad, for me at least. But I guess it was real. She had feelings for both men but only one could give her a future, a happy ending. 3.5 stars
There is a lot going on in this story! It is mysterious, and charming. There is suspense and edges of romance, but the story is more tender than actually romantic in my opinion. Tamara is a technical writer who lives on a small ranch, left to her by her mother who recently passed. While still grieving, she began to have nightmares and experience some bizarre things on the ranch, such as a large spirit portal opening in her barn sending Cal, a cowboy ghost, and a host of other spirits soaring around Tamara's yard. Her coworker, Dex, who is interested in Tamara but jealous of the time Cal spends with Tamara, offers to helps. Cal, wants to help the other spirits but fears hurting Tamara. It seems her touch can be restorative-- It is meant to help the ghosts cross over but not all ghosts know how or intend to do so. With The help of Cal, Dex, can Tamara close the portal and cross the spirits over? I enjoyed this book. I really didn't know what I was getting into even after reading the blurb that caught my attention! There is so much happening and it is very hard to explain without revealing a bit too much in one way or another! I will happily read more books that follow as this as I liked the author's style. The ending, was surprising and packaged neatly into a happy ever after! It was a light read and even though it involved ghosts and gruesome topics and manners of death at times, the book it self was not depressing or heavy. It was also considered a clean read. All opinions are my own, and I express them freely as I read an ARC through Inspired Kathy.
This was a ghost story, a love story, and more. I liked the characters, especially Cal. Tamara found out (and so did the ghosts) that her touch could give them back their solid bodies or help them cross over. Tamara wants to help them all, but at what cost to herself? Good story and worth listening to.
Tamara has a gift. Not only can she see the dead, but Cal--a cowboy ghost--is certain she can help them cross over. Tamara spends time with Cal each night but gets no closer to learning how to help him and the other ghosts haunting her home. With the help of her co-worker Dex, Tam finds the answers, but now that she has them, will she be able to let Cal go?
I really enjoyed reading this story from LA Dragoni. A girl going through the grief of losing her mother, mixed in with a sexy ghost and a hot co-worker made for quite an interesting tale. As much as I loved Cal, I was rooting for Dex all the way. To keep this spoiler free, I'll just say, you have to read GHOST TOUCH to see how everything worked out!
LA Dragoni's GHOST TOUCH got me out of my paranormal romance funk in which I felt like I was reading the same book over and over again. The ghost part with the portal opening in Tamara's barn was vividly described and equal parts cool and terrifying, but it was really Tamara's poignant emotional journey that spoke to me. She starts the book in mourning for her mother and ends it in love (no spoilers here as to whom she falls in love with!), and the transformation was done in such a touching, believable way. A very sweet paranormal romance!
Though I wasn't crazy about the audio narration (it was okay), I really enjoyed the story and the unique premise. Dragoni's descriptions really pop to life (even when describing the dead!) and the characters are unique and memorable. The ending is wonderful (and tugs on more than one emotion), with only the slightest hint given as to what might come in subsequent books. I will certainly be at the front of the line to find out! I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal love story! I have read another book series in which a teenager was able to see ghosts and her role was to help them cross over. She also fell in love with the ghost in her house.
This book is also complicated and a little harrowing at times! Tamara has a boring job writing technical manuals. She is grieving the loss of her mother to cancer while caring for the ranch her mother left her. She starts having scary nightmares and wakes up to noises in her barn. Ghosts have been haunting her dreams and her barn to gain her attention.
One of the first ghosts she meets is Cal who is dressed like a cowboy over his bones. She is drawn to him. Another ghost named Troit is trying to touch her. It seems Tamara has the ability to turn ghosts into a more human form by her touch and a large horde of ghosts want to touch her. The ghosts spend all but 15 minutes a day in the Void.
Tamara is trying to figure out how to get the ghosts out of her barn. She tries to learn everything she can about ghosts. She first tries at the library for information but the librarian doesn't really take her seriously and she has to resort to internet searches with no real success.
The ghosts appear nightly at 1:30am for 15 minutes. Tamara is trying to learn more about ghosts from Cal. Occasionally other ghosts manage to touch her. Their touch leaves her literally freezing. Because she is up every night, she is sleep deprived at work.
Tamara finally speaks to her fellow technical writer Dexter about her ghostly problems and he is eager to help. After Dexter becomes involved, the action in the story speeds up and a love triangle is formed. Tamara and Dexter go through some harrowing experiences trying to help Cal and others cross over.
Tamara manages to find out how a 5 year old ghost has died and is able to help him cross over. She also is able to help the belligerent Troit cross over. To help other the ghosts requires a daring maneuver involving Tamara, Dexter, and Cal and another ghost who has already crossed over.
L. A. Dragoni has created some intriguing characters. Her ghosts are as real as the humans as is the love between a human and a ghost! I read this book in one sitting and look forward to reading the next book in this series!

First I should say that I was given this book in exchange for an honest review on ebooksforreview.com. I wasn’t too sure about this one when I requested it. A love triangle between a man, a woman and a ghost-seemed a little bizarre. This concept was just curious enough that I had to try it out. Tamara has recently purchased an old farm. One night, she notices that there’s a strange glowing light coming from the barn and to her amazement, hordes of spirits come out. Although fearful, her curiosity wins and she goes out to get a closer look. There she meets a spirit named Cal. Cal and Tamara quickly bond-although the portal is only open for 15 minutes per night. During these visits, it becomes apparent that she has a gift called Ghost Touch. When the spirits touch her or she touches them, the ghosts physically rejuvenate but when done too often-they become too solid and can no longer return into the portal and also will never be able to crossover. After the spirits learn of her gift, her touch becomes similar to a drug for them. This weakens Tamara and could to the point of death. Tamara is determined to find an answer on how she can help the spirits cross over, but is coming up with nothing. Cal has hinted that he knows how she can do it, but refuses to tell her. She asks Dex, a coworker, for help and he gladly accepts. Now Tamara has two huge issues: trying to find a way to help the poor souls crossover and her growing attraction for both Dex and Cal. (I know the whole Cal thing sounds bizarre, but it really is done very well.) She wants to help Cal reunite with his family that’s on the other side, but selfishly doesn’t want to let him go. And of course, there’s sweet Dex…….. This is a very sweet, clean story and very very original. I highly recommend it.
WHat an amazing book I absolutely loved it and could not put it down. I loved all the characters including the kind of evil creepy ghost that stalked Tamara.
Im getting ahead of myself I am just so excited about this book and having the chance to review it.If I could give this 10 stars not 5 I so would. Thats how much it reeled me in and I fell in love with it.
Tamara is the girl with the Ghost Touch. She has no idea about the paranormal or that she even has this gift until thousands of ghosts show up in her barn 6 months after her mom has passed away.
Cal the cowboy ghost is really a wonderful caring heartfelt character and even though he keeps secrets you just cant help but love him.
And Dex oh Dex what can you not say about him. He is Tamara's coworker that is into the paranormal. He is just adorable, his giant frame and muscular body and add to that his long blond hair. THe fact he is so excited and hyper and kinda nerdy about everything he finds out. Its just so funny and cute.
This author is definitely one I will be looking forward to reading future books. One of the best authors by far that I have encountered.
If you enjoy paranormal novels with ghosts or romantic paranormal you will most definitely need to read this its just amazing.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was really different for me. I don't know how I feel about it exactly. I had a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that Cal was a skeleton rather than a ghost. In a part of the book, I believe it said that she could tell that he was attractive and I don't see how that's possible. If he had been a ghost instead, I think I could have liked it more but with looking into his eye sockets and not seeing anything, that was too strange for me, kind of creeped me out. I liked the idea behind the book as far as her being able to help others find peace and move on though and I liked how she was able to figure out some of the stories and how that actually changed the person and then they could find peace. I liked Dex's character and thought it was cute that he was always fond of Tamara and how she had no clue and was caught off guard. I liked that Cal was protective of her against those waiting to cross over and how he was always concerned for her safety even where Dex was concerned. There was a little bit of language and some of the scenes with the people in the barn were kind of intense but it was a pretty good book.
Audiobook review - I don't know what it is recently with ghost romance stories but I've been loving them and they are a welcome respite from the normal PNR stories. This particular book had it all for me. It had a great story, well written characters, a redeemed bad guy and a fully fleshed out world that was plausible without being too over-the-top. Although there is a love triangle and my dark erotica mind was like "you can have them both girl!", I was actually surprised and happy with the way things turned out; which is rare for me because in triangles I rarely end up happy as a reader. So kudos to the author. If I had to nit-pick, the only thing I would say is I would have liked an epilogue or a few sentences at the end of the book from Cal's POV. It would have just been a cherry on the top and that's all I'll say about that.
My review is based on the Audiobook. This was an interesting story. Overall all I liked it but I found it hard to connect and accept Tamara's insta- attraction/obsession with Cal. She seemed too quick to accept the fact that ghostly beings were coming out of her barn on a nightly basis. I understand her want to help them cross but the attraction to a skeletal figure who she barely knows and only sees 15 minutes each night is a little hard to come to terms with for me. That being said I like how the story comes full circle and you get to learn about some of the ghosts stories. Darlene Allen did a good job as narrator.
I really enjoyed this book. It only took me a couple of hours to get through and I can’t wait to read the next book. I believe in the afterlife and I’m glad people have the courage to write about such controversial topics.
Although this book had a love triangle in it, it was nice to see it end the right way. Cal and Dex were both amazing me who knew exactly what Tamara needed from them. Tamara had to let go of her grief and pain to see what was right in front of her. I will definitely look for other books from this author.
Having read other paranormal fiction works I have found this is a genre that can be a real hit or miss and thankfully Ghost Touch manages to be a complete hit. It is well written, has a simple yet well thought out storyline to it and is a book I found myself getting through very quickly as I wanted to know how it would all end. Had it on my kindle waiting to be read for a long time and I can say without hesitation that when the next one comes out I won't be leaving it on there long before I am reading it.
Every night or fifteen minutes a portal opens in Tamara's barn, where ghosts are able to come through. Tamara tries to help the ghosts cross over. Cal is one of the thousands of spirits stuck crossing over. Learning that she can touch the ghosts. But doing so she finds her own energy drains from each touch.
Soon ghosts use her for her energy, Cal has to pull her from the ghosts, her touch is also restoring him more and more until he is at danger of being stuck on earth. Can she help those ghosts to cross over and to let Cal go.
This was a hard one for me to rate. I liked it. It was an interesting and entertaining read. I just had a hard time connecting with the characters. Sometimes when I read books, I WANT more, in this book I NEEDED more. More details about what was happening, how people were feeling, more interaction between characters to develop the plot.
Heart break, mystery, romance and intrigue are what made this novel a one sit read for me. This was engaging and interesting with a strong and well realised plot .I would love to read more from the author. The concept was very interesting to me and I loved the book
This book was a fantastic read. After reading only the first page, I did expect a more thrilling story with more suspence and maybe even some horror-like haunting scenes.
It reminded me a bit of Ghost whisperer on a ranch, although this story did take another path than 'just' a written episode of Ghost Whisperer.
It was thrilling and definitely had it's moments full of suspence but it was also a beautiful story with a bit of romance and a bit of a spiritual feel to it. Started reading in the evening and the book consumed my whole night, I could not put it down because I enjoyed it too much.
And I also love that it ends without a cliffhanger. This can be read as a standalone.
Awesome book!! Ghost are my favorite for of the paranormal genre. And this book has plenty of them. I picked this book up around 9 PM and around 2 AM I read the whole thing. I couldn't make myself put it down. I love all of the characters in the book. Some were good some not so much they all had a big part in making this book a real page turner. I can't wait to see what L A Dragoni comes up with in book 2 and if she keeps Tamara and Dex or brings in new main characters.
In the book Tamara has recently lost her mother to cancer. She starts having nightmares each night of a different ghost chasing her. Then one night her horse gets out of the stall in the barn and what she sees not only amazes her but terrifies her. There is a glowing light coming from around the barn door. As she goes out to see what is going on hundreds of souls come out of the barn.
She makes friends with Cal, one of the ghosts. He tells her just enough about the void to keep her afraid to go near but yet he wants her help to cross over all of the spirits in the void. The spirits re allowed out each night from 1:30 to 1:45 AM. During this 15 minute time Cal and Tamara start a friendship bordering a relationship.
Tamara eventually calls in her friend Dexter from work to help her with her ghostly problem. Both man and ghost become jealous of each other and the others relationship with Tamara. But they muddle through to do the right thing.

5/26/2020 I loved the book but the Audio book not so much. Sad to say Darlene Allen is killing it with her narration. I feel like I am being read to on a childs level.
What if at a certain time each night, your barn, garage, house was filled with ghosts? You say you don’t believe in ghosts. Okay. But what if?
In GHOST TOUCH, by Author La Dragoni, Tamara believes in ghosts. In fact, she has proof they exist. Every night ghosts appear in her barn, hundreds, thousands of them. It isn’t bad enough that she’s still grieving over her mother’s death a few months earlier, she has to find a way to get rid of the ghosts. Between having to deal with the ghosts, falling for Cal, a cowboy ghost, and discovering that Dex, the live guy she works with at her job, is rather appealing too, Tamara has plenty of trouble.
The author does a nice job describing Tamara’s confused state of mind as she struggles with decisions of what to do. I could picture the ghosts as they swarmed out of the barn. Shudder. Not a pretty sight. However, I kind of agreed with Tamara that the cowboy ghost, with his polite way of talking was nice, even though he was skinless, just bones, and had a cold touch. Perhaps this is a reminder that the outward appearance of a person is not as important as what’s in their heart. I really liked Dex and hoped things would work out for Tamara and him. No, I’m not telling.
When the unexpected happens, Tamara’s life gets really interesting. I enjoy a book that makes me look at life and people in a different way. GHOST TOUCH does just that. I’m looking forward to more from La Dragoni.
Ghost Touch had an interesting concept. Tamara has the ghost touch and ghost can basically become corporal again by touching her and draining her energy. She also has the ability to help them cross over. However she doesn't really know what she is doing.
Like I said interesting concept but I can't remember the last time I was so frustrated with a character. I wanted to reach in a slap Tamara off the pages!
Here she has a flesh and blood man, Dex. Who is so enamored with her it is obvious. She is freaking clueless! Nope she is too busy crushing after a dead guy, Cal! Yep! Lets ignore the hunk and drool over the skeleton. Yeah that's healthy!
Ghost Touch was ok for me. I'm am curious where the story will go from here.....Sara
Although there were a few issues with the plot making sense towards the middle of this book...it was still good. I enjoyed the story. It wasn't my normal type of read, having a ghost cowboy, love triangle... but it held my attention all the way through. Something about the characters touched my heart, so the small technical infractions didnt really ruin it for me.
