I've been a reader all my life, starting out with fairy tales and graduating to reading everything in the house when I grew older, including my parents' romances, mysteries, science fiction, fantasy, and action/adventure.

If a writer can combine romance and humor with a fantasy, science fiction, or paranormal element, I'm hooked. Add action/adventure, and it's even better!

Since I couldn't find quite enough books that combine these elements, I sat down to write some of my own. The result is the books you'll see on my website.

I now live in Colorado with my three dogs: Mo, Daisy and Trixie.

Pseudonyms: Pamela Luzier (Fantasy genre) and Parker Blue (Young Adult urban fantasy genre).

You know, I think Pam could've done without the romance. The whole romance was like really long foreplay to the final therapy session and government takeover. (Pam said go to therapy and have an emotional reconciliation with your powerful distant father). Thena was great and all-powerful but Lancer had a bland Clark Kent vibe.

The tropes are everywhere in this book. Pam McCutcheon knows what she wants, and what she wants is a man who can admit when he's wrong. The sexiest thing about Lancer is that he's the only male character in the book who listens to Thena and trusts her immediately.

3/5 because I really would have liked to see that interstellar war deal. The review was also boosted by the several Star Trek references. I see you Pam.

In order to prevent an interstellar war earthling Lancer is sent to investigate a newly discovered planet whose women, called Pythias, can predict the future. Word has it that they've predicted the war and are the only ones who may be able to avert it. Lancer's job is to prove the Pythias' powers are a reality and convince the planet to join the United Planets Republic before their powers fall into the wrong hands.

Thena is planet Delphi's Golden Pythia. She is the most important oracle on the planet because of her outstanding accuracy rating. Unlike other Pythias Thena remembers her prophecies and fears succumbing to madness like her mother before her. When Lancer shows up on her planet and talks about mind doctors called psychiatrists she sees a possible cure for her problems and intends to go to earth. Only her father, ignorant to her fears of insanity, refuses to let her go.

Both Thena and Lancer have reasons for keeping their agendas to themselves. Thena hasn't shared the fact that she remembers her prophecies with anyone including her own Father. Lancer goes to the planet on the pretense of making a film about the Pythias. He doesn't state his real intentions for fear the Delphians will accuse him of using them.

Nevan is the irritant in their budding relationship. He's Thena's observer who is supposed to accurately write down her prophesies. Whenever they get close Nevan gets between them. When they discover he is lying and attempting to destroy her status as Golden Pythia for his own selfish motives a distraught Thena runs off to Earth with Lancer to quickly find a cure and save both her mom, herself and her reputation.

A lack of communication and their secret agendas continually come between them, along with a series of outside events that cause them both angst and pain. Both are good people with their hearts in the right place but their different worlds divide them. Both characters must realize what is most important to them before they can find true happiness.

GOLDEN PROPHECIES is an action packed read where the adventure sometimes outweighs the romance. A little more time exploring the feelings of the hero and heroine as they dealt with each new adversity would've made the characters come truly alive for this reader.

I found the prophecy sessions quite fascinating and delighted in reading about a simpler world filled with magic rather than technological gadgets. The addition of the Pythia sidekick, the Moncat, makes for a cute addition to the story. Mirroring the heroine's emotions the Moncat adds a sweet touch of humor to this fast paced tale of other worldly love.

The book was filled with more adventures than romance, which is not a bad way to introduce a newly discovered world to the rest of the universe.

Lancer arrives in Delphi to try and see if the Pythia (sort of like oracles) are able to predict the future and possibly prevent an upcoming war. But of course he has to keep his mission a secret and uses his "filming" background to try and pump as much information about the people of Delphi and the Pythia first.

Thena is the Golden Pythia (the best of the best and her prophecies are quite accurate). She is keeping a secret from everyone, she remembers all of her prophecies but she worries if anyone else knew it would mean she is just like her mother (who went crazy because she too was able to recall all her prophecies). And of course just because she is the Golden Pythia, doesn't mean she isn't ordered around by the dominating males in her life like Nevan, her observer who records her prophecies, and who wants to be her husband so he can lead the council or her father, who doesn't always hear what she has to say.

Communicate or the lack of it is always a huge issue in books like this. I wish most heros and heroines would communicate more and quicker so there's less misunderstanding and such. I rather enjoyed reading about Delphi and especially the monocats, they are quite cool and unique.

The descriptions of Delphi (this newfound planet) gives me almost a Dune vibe. I LOVED the descriptions of the setting in this book. ✨

This is my first vintage space romance and even tho it’s a futuristic romance set in a time where space travel and living on different planets is a thing — it still reads like a true histrom. FMC Thena has rules+limitations just like the historical girlies. It would be inappropriate to be running around with MMC Earthling Lancer without a chaperone. FMC had a “purity” vibe and reputation to maintain. It also felt historical in the sense that she is dressed like a Roman goddess. (see her outfit on the cover)

Overall.. I found this book “just okay.” It’s hard to give a review because is it me and this book is just a different genre for me? Or is it the book? Because truthfully I love space romances - or the ideal of it.

But here in this book, the plot was more (slow) action than actual romance. I found myself skimming chapters just trying to get through it- which is a big no no for me.

The plot is good but the execution of it wasn’t perfected. MMC Lancer is a human from earth, a son of powerful man in the government yet MMC despises his family - but does his father a favor of exploring a new planet found in the system. Alien but not alien 🤔 because a space ship crashed on this newfound planet 200 years ago and the humans occupying it today descend from those of the crash. However, these alien humans have special gifts.. or well the women on the plant. Psychic abilities. It’s Lancers job to scope the planet and report back.

I found Lancer not exciting. His instant lust and need to f*ck someone was eye roll. His character is mediocre.

What I wanted? More yearning and buildup in the romance. I would have rather the science fiction action plot been in the background of their forbidden romance. It just didn’t happen that way.

I wanted more from this book. More from the romance. Overall.. it’s simply just ok.

Lancer Morgan, son of the Defense Minister on Earth, is sent on a mission to the planet Delphi to verify their rumors of prophesy. He hopes to find a means to prevent interstellar war. There Lancer meets Thena, the Golden Pythia and her world’s prime oracle. When she discovers a political plot to discredit her prophecies and take over the council, she flees to Earth with Lancer. However, he’s picked up a deadly virus and the only way to save him is for them to mate. He wouldn’t be her first choice, since he has no desire to remain on her world and take his rightful place as Council leader. How can she convince him their bond is irreversible? This classic romance will keep your interest to see if Lancer can grow to accept his responsibilities.

I don't usually do written reviews, but I want to at least give some explanation for my hard rating. This book started out wonderfully, with interesting characters, storyline, settings, beautiful discriptions, etc. But by the end of the book I was so irritated with Lancer's behavior, I wanted to give him a sharp smack to the back of his head. He took far too long to accept his feelings for Thena, as well as face and defy his demons.
