HAUNTED ASYLUMS, MORGUES & CEMETERIES.
Tales from the Asylum
True tales of horror & hauntings...
excerpts;
'Patients said they could not sleep at night because of the screaming of the dead, but because the patients had already been classified as insane, no-one took any notice of them.'

'The family of the owner stayed at the Asylum for just one night, after their young daughter was found the next morning with her face ripped open by something unknown.'

'In the dust was the word, "Help," written backwards.'

'They'd captured the sound of a young girl and she was saying, "Do you want to play with me?"

'The demonic looking creature in the patient's drawing had come to life. It followed the Doctor everywhere now, followed afterward by the most deafening of noises that felt as though his ears were about to explode. The strange thing was, no-one else could hear it.'

The Harvard Crimson wrote of their visit to the now famous morgue,
'Face mutilated, gashed faces, awful contortions, hideous leer, gaping mouths now fixed forever in rigid agony, hands outstretched whispering, "Come to me, Come to me!" and we hear and shudder and come."

Two mysterious trunks arrived. When they were opened they were found to contain two separate parts of an unidentified woman. She had been chopped in half and her top half placed in one of the trunks and her bottom half in the other.

'Doctors used instruments that looked strangely similar to ice picks.'
'They were tied to their beds almost permanently, barely able to move a limb.'

'The sharp sense that there's a third party in the room is overpowering. The air is suddenly foul and i feel an intense awareness that i'm not welcome here.'

'The images appeared to show a man in the window holding a cross.'

'I have struggled to accept the things i saw there those nights, but whatever is there, it's not human.'

Steph Young began writing with the pen name Stephen Young, until she was asked to appear on National Radio show 'Coast to Coast AM'. Quickly, she had to explain she was a female! She had never expected anyone to read her books, let alone be asked on a national radio show ( which happened to be her favourite one) Since then she has been a regular guest on many podcasts and radio shows of the paranormal and unexplained.
She has a website now too:
https://www.stephyoungauthor.com/
And her own podcasts, called Masquerade podcast with steph young, on iTunes or
exclusive member's only episodes on: https://www.patreon.com/stephyoungpod...

Steph is an independent Researcher addicted to researching all Paranormal, Supernatural, Esoteric & Enigmatic Unexplained Mysteries, Unexplained Disappearances, the dark history of Lore and Monstrous Creatures of the Unknown.
Steph also particularly likes to write about Creepy things in the Woods, Strange encounters in the woods, & Scary things in the woods.....her books include Lore and Folklore and Mythology - but don't let that fool you...many of the readers who contact Steph now to tell them of their own strange encounters with the Unknown provide ample evidence that perhaps these creatures and monsters from our darkest nightmares, seem to well and truly exist...Lore becomes reality and as they say, the truth is often far scarier than fiction or folklore. As for the many cases of the Unexplained Disappearances that Steph investigates in her books, these Unsolved disappearances are all too real - but they often have very baffling circumstances and very cryptic clues.

Each book Steph writes seems to lead to further questions & searches for answers as the mysteries inevitably deepen & develop into ever more complex riddles in the spectrum of the Unknown.

Conspiracies, hidden secrets, the truth from the Lore, the connections between the paranormal and the missing, these are just some of the enigma's Steph investigates to find the new, the unexpected, and the surprising possibilities that might just tie all of this together....

If you have had a Creepy encounter, i would love to hear from you, & would be very interested in your experience.

Steph Young's books also cover the case of 'the Smiley Face Killers'; true stories of scores of mysteries & unexplained abductions & drownings of college-age men across the United States, Canada, and England's 'The Pusher', investigating these deaths and the cryptic clues left behind and who may be behind these abductions and drowning deaths.

I was not expecting much as the author mistakenly wrote the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is in Virginia. I live less than 30 minutes away and know that it is located in North Central West Virginia, hours away from the Virginia state line. I believe research is key when writing a book like this. Also, the last half of the book has NOTHING to do with Haunted Asylums, Morgues or Cemeteries. I didn't want to read about subterranean beings or Predator like creatures. I wanted to read about hauntings.

The author could have expanded on several of the places he mentioned if he needed to fill space. God knows a place like Greyfriars Cemetery has thousands of accounts and he just summarized them.

How did this make it through editing?? So many grammatical mistakes. The stories were not really stories as much as they were little clipoings from other sources.

Great TRUE tales from some of the most haunted locations around the world!

An excellent compilation of true tales from people who have visited some of the most haunted locations around the world.

I couldn't help but wish for a little more though...I have to admit I was about a quarter way through the book before I realized I was no longer reading a forward (or author's note). I felt like I was still being introduced to the book I was about to enjoy. (If that makes any sense at all!) The stories at that point were interesting, but they were only a couple of paragraphs each and almost blended together.

Things did get better from that point, though. The stories were a little longer, with more detail, and each retelling was better than the last. There were few if any typos and editing errors to confuse or aggravate you, which is great since so many reads these days have horrible editing issues! All-in-all Stephen Young seems to be a gifted writer, and I look forward to reading more of his works.

Basically, if you are interested in true paranormal experiences you should give "Haunted Asylums, Morgues, and Cemeteries..." a try. I am definitely glad that I did!

Creepy

This was a surprisingly well written, well researched book. I'm not sure why I say surprisingly, because that suggests that I look for poorly written books to read, and that is not the case. I guess I've become used to many books of this genre being close kin with tabloid articles, so when I find one that actually reads like a book, it surprises me.

This book is truly creepy, so do not read alone, but do enjoy.

52% Book, 48% Previews :-(

I was enjoying the trips from asylum to graveyard to hospital. Very enjoyable, but it was over too soon. The progress marker was barely past 50% and previews of other books started. One of the major drawbacks with having an interest in the paranormal is being lumped together with loonies who believe in aliens, ufos and bloody angels ffs.

Creepy and eerie things that have happened to people while visiting some haunted places. Makes you sad in a way on how forgotten these spirits were before they crossed over and how many were treated. I consider many of them as sad and lost souls who don't realize they've passed.

The first 3/4 of this book was great. Very creepy and scary, especially the parts about the asylums. The last part talked about aliens and the like and I lost interest. Overall a great book for Halloween season!

Woo Boy!

There are some cra-raaaaazy stories in here! Some will make your geese pimply! Some will make you scared to go for a walk in the woods......
And whatever you do, stay the "H" out of asylums especially.

Short Clips

While I loved the variety of stories I wish they were longer with more details. That however is my only complaint.
