Between a heavy pack on a Himachal trail and a cramped coffee shop called Hiya's, he was just looking for a light and some solitude. But the mountains have other plans.

this was such a warm, comforting little read.
i went in expecting a cozy coffee shop story, but it ended up being more about timing, healing, and the people who unknowingly leave a lasting impact on our lives
i appreciated that the book never tried to force what the narrator felt for hiya into being a grand romance. sometimes, a brief encounter changes you in little ways... and that's enough ❤️🩹
the narrator definitely overthinks everything (seriously, this man's internal monologue never takes a day off 😭), but it grew on me. hiya was a lovely contrast to him
my favorite part was the ending. years later, he doesn't remember hiya because he never moved on; he remembers her because she came into his life exactly when he needed someone like her
i also loved that he shared that story with his wife... it felt mature and honest, and perfectly captured what the book was trying to say
favorite moments: "smile for a discount." 🥹, hiya running outside with an axe to claim the fallen tree, and the line, "one day, i'll give a name to this beautiful thing in my heart that is not love."
i also choose to believe they all had that coffee date of four someday... hiya, her granny, him, and his wife. ☕

It was such a short read, not even 30 pages, but it felt weirdly comforting...I loved the calm mountain café vibe throughout the story....Nothing dramatic really happens, but the small moments between the characters felt very real...The way Hiya slowly started conversations while he mostly stayed quiet… it was simple but nice to read....
What I liked most is that it didn’t try too hard to become a big love story. It was more about meeting someone for a very short time and still remembering them long after leaving....I honestly wish the story was longer because I wanted more scenes with Hiya and wanted to know her side better too. But overall, the writing was beautiful and cozy....Perfect for a quick coffee-time comforting read...
