I read this book as a beta for Mya, and all thoughts are my own!

The Haunting Plot is the fourth book in the Chestnut Mountain series, aka the Moms books. While they are interconnected, you most certainly can read this as a standalone.

In this story, we meet Raven, the 4th member of the Moms, and Sawyer, the Chestnut Mountain Fire Department's fire chief. They meet after Raven's autistic son, Jonah, sets fire to a swing on their porch, which in turn causes Raven to unknowingly knock of a candle and set the house on fire. The fire displaces Raven and her kids, and when her meddling brother and their friends find out that the house that Raven and the kids are staying in needs work, they put Sawyer up to fixing things. They also do quite a bit of meddling.
Sawyer is absolutely the best as he tries to navigate life while learning that some people are just really shitty and it not him who is the bad person. Raven is also learning how to accept help from others and open up. Once they finally see that they are made for each other, it's absolutely sickeningly adorable.
