Delirium
Sereia Wilson grew up in the trenches—in a housing project popularly known as The Woods. There she lived with her big brother, Demetrius. For almost ten years its just been the two of them. With their mother being deceased and their father serving a life sentence behind prison walls. Demetrius, as the main provider, does whatever necessary to keep a roof over him and his sister’s head. But after his father’s death, everything shifted. The same love that once surrounded the Christ family turned into fear, and Exodus found himself at the center of it all. Delirium
Delirium: a serious disturbance in mental abilities, often causing confusion and emotional instability — a title that perfectly reflects this story. This book follows Sereia and Exodus and how one tragic night throws both of their lives into chaos, binding them together in a way neither of them fully understands. Not as lovers, not quite as friends, but as something still undefined. They have both experienced loss and know grief all too well.
Sereia is suddenly left alone in the world, struggling to figure out how she’s going to survive, while Exodus wants to help ease her burden. He normally isn’t the caring type, but guilt over the role he played in her tragedy keeps pulling him toward her. Their emotions, pain, and confusion mirror the meaning of delirium itself, overwhelming, messy, and impossible to ignore. There’s definitely something brewing between them, and maybe we’ll finally see what it becomes in book two.

The Foundation is solid!

This was really good and written very well. Miss Candice really knows how to grab her readers attention and keep it. I enjoyed the pace of the story and the plot has me feigning for more!
The characters are navigating through grief, but I can tell that is not the sole focus of the story plot.
I also love that the location of the story is in a fictional city in Michigan, but still pulled some Detroit culture and aspects in the book.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this 3 part series! Highly recommend! 💖

Short read…
Definitely needed more cause wait not to be continued.. I really like Exodus so far and him helping Sereia after everything that transpired was nice of him.. I wonder if they will have a genuine friendship or connection and that’s what I need more of. Sereia is definitely one of this quiet but you gotta watch for characters that you can’t underestimate. Can’t wait to read what’s next.

Miss Candice knows how to write a damn book. Don’t go in expecting a romance, this is urban fiction. It’s building a 3 part foundation. Let her cook.
I almost sat it down when it said it was gonna be 3 parts but I’m glad I didn’t. I felt all the emotions during this book. I love me some Exodus already.

3 stars ⭐⭐⭐
I'm going to be honest, this book wasn't for me. Maybe because I'm not used to the younger slang, but every time Exodus said “get my licks,” I was like, what does this guy mean? Outside of that, the foundation of the novella was good. I wish Sereia had the opportunity to have a come up because she has suffered many losses. I'll see about reading the next book. I'm not sure yet.

I must say I don't like to read the first chapter and end it wanting to FIGHT. Miss Candice immediately got me emotionally invested and from there I couldn't put it down. I didn't want it to end. Loss, love, possession, power and a need to be in control had me stuck to every chapter. I need part 2 like yesterday but I'll be patient. A must read !!

Whew this book here had me emotional. It was a struggle not to cry while reading. This book is short and just the foundation but its emotional. I will say Exodus runs a strict program and Sereia is not a punk lol. I finished and was ready for the next book immediately!

Worth the wait
I couldn't wait for this book to drop and bought it the day it did, and I just got the time to read it today. Miss Candice does not disappoint. I'm definitely ready to get to the second book. Im ready to see how things escalate with X and Rei.

Death hurst.
Sereia was hit with so much hurt. It’s shocking to see her still standing. Even through pain she kept pushing. That job X offered her was life changing. Hopefully she can adjust to the changes of life before it’s too late.

This was a good set up for what's to come, I'm excited for book two. I think Sereia is just what his mom needs and his mom is just what she needs. Can't wait to see how their relationship unfolds as well as the one with Exodus

I like this author and I’ve read plenty of her books. This is a good read as well as the others, BUT I will say her stories are drawn out. It takes to long to get to the goods. It’s an unnecessary slow burn. Too much narrative talking and not enough of character talking. I can’t wait for the other books in This series.
