There's Love ... and then there's Love Beyond Limits.
Felipe and Therice had a love that knew of no boundaries. When Therice and "Mama" lose their lives in a tragic car accident, Felipe has a gaping hole that just refuses to heal and Therice has a determination to see him again that just refuses to die.
Heaven feels anything but, when Therice discovers that spirits are prohibited from visiting loved ones after they have died. Sensing that her angelic guide Amare possesses empathetic traits, Therice develops a plan of appeal in the hopes she will see Felipe near the anniversary of her death.
Although Da'Kharta Rising prides herself as the Slightly Anti-Social Socialite, or SASS, there is nothing non-engaging about the biology of what she writes. Her philosophy is somewhat of a throwback: systematically creating an air of mystery, intrigue and drama designed to keep the reader not only hooked, but using one's imagination to follow a rich plot from beginning to end. In short, Da'Kharta Rising embodies the Incandescence of a Cryptic Enigma.
Her body of work is composed of independently released works Vocal Remedy, S.K.A.R., Boundless Limits (Transcendent Choice, Book 1), and Apocawhat?.
Her stories "Unrest", "Omitted" and "The Kutters", appeared in the Continuous Drips anthology, while her stories "Coalesce", "The Bunny", and "The Chronicles of Aidan" were part of Concordant Vibrancy 1 (Unity), Concordant Vibrancy 3 (Lustrate), and Concordant Vibrancy 4 (Inferno), respectively. In addition, her stories "Inside Me" and "Masato's Zion" appeared in both books of the Divergent Ink anthology series.
Future projects include participation in Divergent Ink 3 (Cynosure), Concordant Vibrancy 5: Extancy along with crafting the When Karma Speaks series.

And why do I love this story, exactly?
One name:
Vindicta!
Let me not get ahead of myself. Allow me to rewind and give you a more in depth look at "Boundless Limits: Transcendent Choice Book One" by one Ms. Da'Kharta Rising.
"Boundless Limits" is a story about love, live, afterlife and the daily darkness that surrounds humanity. More than that, it's a story about the extents that people endeavor on for the sake of true love.
Therice and Felipe have a powerful and deep connection. She is wholeheartedly in love with him as is he with her. Their relationship made me giggle, particularly in the more "human" parts ... the sleeping and being awoken abruptly, something falling on Felipe's head in the process. Good stuff, good stuff. It was real and entertaining.
Then tragedy strikes and everything becomes undone.
In come Amare and Vindicta.
For those of you whom are into "name meanings" like I am, their names translate from Latin to English into "Loving" and "Vengeance". Fantastic angel names if you ask me.
What I loved the most was that the author provided a back-story for these two characters which laid a foundation for what can and will happen in installments to come. Powerful stuff, I'm telling you.
However, among everything that was great in this read, my favorite was Vindicta. Why? I think it's the mystery that is she. She's an enigma, and I love it. I can't make heads or tales of her, and I love that too. She kept me hooked.
Suffice it to say that this story has all of the makings of a grand collection and I am eager to know what happens next. Please, oh please, don't make me wait too long!
All right, everyone who is anyone that knows me, knows that I am highly partial to the subject of Angels, Demons, and the Supernatural. Even more when that work is full of intensity and layers.
That being said, it is impossible for me not to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this story! Simply impossible! I would have given it 6 stars had I had the option.
Let me tell you a little bit about the WONDERMENT that is "Boundless Limits" by Da'Kharta Rising.
Wow, there are so many elements that I loved about this story that I barely know where to begin.
Bullets! That's what I'll do! I'll list them in the form of bullets.
1) I loved the Hispanic Culture element of this story. That's probably because I'm Hispanic. *Giggling* Bias, I know. Oh well.
2) The characters, particularly for a novelette, were incredibly well developed and immensely believable. They had tons of depth. Just wonderfully written.
3) The "angelic" and "afterlife" element was profound and real. Here is the thing, I'm a person full of Angel & Demon Mythology knowledge, so I know the "basics" and then some. Yet never once did I question the credibility of this basis of this story. It was told in such a matter of fact sort of way that I flowed with it with no question.
4) You ever read that one book that makes you frown from sadness when it ends? That one book that you just really want more of? That is what "Boundless Limits"did for me. I turned the last page with a pout wishing that there had been more.
There is no question about it, "Boundless Limits" is getting added to my collection of "Favorites" which just so happens to be a very small faction.
A marvelous read that the lover of Paranormal will gobble up in one sitting and come back for more.

There’s Love … and then there’s Love Beyond Limits.
The very start of the blurb emits a sense of intensity and power. I approached this with the anticipation of something very exciting and meaningful.
I have followed Da’Kharta Rising’s works from her origins, starting with her first release “Vocal Remedy”, then a few months later, “Simi’s Komma”. Those were both works that mapped out her blueprint—an air of mystery, an environment that keeps the reader guessing.
“Boundless Limits: Transcendent Choice” is quite the undertaking for this writer, the longest one to date. Would a longer work stay true to her or branch out in other directions?
I dove in and was not disappointed. This novelette displays Da’Kharta Rising’s imagination in beautiful flex and surpasses her other two well written independent short stories in depth and deliverance. She dared to take risks, to step beyond the cove of "just dark drama".
All of the characters in the book, from the main characters to the supporting casts, had a level of importance, used not just to banter off of each other but to drive many areas of conflict in the story.
At its core, the first book of the Transcendent Choice series talks about the power of love, even after death. The vocabulary utilized and the painting of the imagery makes the reader feel the bond between Felipe and Therice. It makes me wonder if any of the loves that I had (or have had) in my life even come close to the shrine of Love’s blossoming painted in Da’Kharta Rising’s pages.
The car accident scene, for me, was one of the most powerful. It was as if I were sitting back, watching a movie, as the writer went from one perspective to another. A few tears trickled down my face … it all felt so real!
Da’Kharta could have kept the premise there, yet the incorporation of angels and playing around with the theories people have about spirits, Heaven, and the like gives "Boundless Limits" extra layers that deem this beyond modern day romantic tragedy.
My favorite characters are of the female variety, but for different reasons.
Therice’s determination and her “will not be denied” attitude drove the conflict to maximum throttle. Vindicta’s intricate makeup kept the pages turning. With each mention of her, a new discovery was revealed. Although she seemed not to be a huge player in this one, I have the distinct feeling as this series continues, that her role will be more paramount.
This is paranormal drama that causes you to question, to bend preconceived notions of angels, spirits, and Heaven. This complexity cannot be covered in just one book. I would have been taken aback if it would have been just one book. From that perspective, the “to be continued” can be forgiven.
Verdict: 5 Stars
If you want a read that is mixed with mystery, epic romance, and paranormal drama that takes you on a ride from start to finish, this is one you should not only have in your electronic reader but hold in your hand. As soon as it is available in paperback, "Boundless Limits: Transcendent Choice" will be added to my bookshelf at home.

Life tends to, by its own nature, topple out of control from time to time. It seems to be the natural order of things. However, what happens when your life, while not perfect, is perfect to you and without warning everything comes tumbling down? What happens when everything you know, love and hold dear is lost to you in the blink of an eye?
Rain falls, wind blows, and people are yet people, and in so being they are flawed. It is in these imperfections that life tends to teeter on the brink of oblivion. Yet, what happens when oblivion is nothing more than an extension of human existence? Does humanity find repose in the hereafter, or do they yearn to reach out to that which they left behind?
This story explores all of those questions. It lays out a plot that is not only unquestionable, but extraordinary. “Boundless Limits”, truly examines the shortcomings of the human condition, and the never ending limits of eternity and its caretakers. This is done in the form of Therice & Felipe, Mama, Vindicta and Amare.
Therice and Felipe have a love that eclipses most. It’s a powerful sort of connection, the kind that most covet and never obtain. Mama, loves her daughter Therice and only desires to see her. It is at that point when catastrophe arrives and transcendence begins. In come Vindicta and Amare, two powerful angels in their own right whom find themselves having to make a series of choices that may not play into the grand scheme of what the High Council desires.
I am wholly enamored with this story. While I was reading it, it was very much like watching a movie—clear, concise and vigorous. I know that “Boundless Limits” will stay with me for a while, and I will read it again. I can hardly wait to see what happens next.
Please be advised that there is one eerie, morbid scene that is not appropriate for children or younger audiences. Apart from that … just an amazing, amazing story. I highly recommend this one.

When I think of Da’Kharta Rising, I picture work with tinges of horror. The first work I read by her was “Vocal Remedy”, and it did give me a bit of the creeps. Yet, because none of the twists were really predictable, I gave the work a decent rating.
While reading Da’Kharta’s blog about her WIP, soon to become "Boundless Limits: Transcendent Choice", there were things mentioned that she never incorporated in any of her other works. Strong romance, existence of angels … it sounds like something I would conjure, minus the angels.
I did not know what I desired more—the relationship Therice had with Felipe or to fall head over heels with Amare. The intensity is what I would deem Da’Kharta just being herself but the text used when describing both the mortal and the angel, had me smitten.
I do wish we could have checked back in with Felipe to see how he was faring, but perhaps that will be addressed in further books.
I’m honestly not sure what to make of Vindicta. I can’t quite grasp why she is so against what the High Council is trying to achieve. Surely not all of the angels are like the ones who gave her such angst upon her arrival! The incorporation of Collette in the story puts my feelings in further conflict. Not that Vindicta is crafted shoddily—on the contrary, the fact that I’m still thinking about Vindicta long after I’ve finished the story is a sign of good writing.
Non-stop conflict at every turn and extra storylines that go beyond the romance put me beyond enjoyment. I think enthrallment is a better word. It has been ages since a read has enthralled me.
This is the first book I have read by Da'Kharta Rising. I enjoyed this novella and book one of the series. A story based on a deep love and how things can turn on a dime. The transition from the beginning of the story to a completely different setting in the middle/end was done very well. Lots of plot lines open to look forward to in book two.

I'm not big on romance when it comes to novels or novellas(short stories) but I do love love. The story of Therice and Felipe is a love everyone longs and yearns for. A love without measure or limits. A love that is timeless. I was mesmerized by the relationship of two angels Amare and Vindicta. They're COMPLETE opposites. You wouldn't expect them to be friends but that's what makes it intriguing. They seem to balance each other out. I liked this story although it's not my usual cup of tea. I'm more into thrillers, horrors, and mysteries. But I recommend this fully to anyone looking for a good book to cuddle up to
