Polar Heat #1

Bear-ever Yours

Rate this book
Leah Maitland isn't expecting much when she wins an unexpected, all-expenses paid trip to the Caribbean. Just some sunshine, fruity drinks, and maybe a break from her demanding job as an office manager to the worst boss ever. She definitely isn't expecting Sky Weston, a hot, athletic local dive instructor with surfer blond hair and Caribbean blue eyes who seems determined to rock her world.

Sky is tall, intensely handsome and a polar bear shifter whose family moved to warmer climates. From the moment he looks into Leah's sparkling brown eyes from across the room, he knows he wants the curvaceous beauty for his own.

But as things heat up in the Caribbean, danger is also close on their heels. And if Sky can't convince Leah to trust the passion igniting between them, he might just lose her to the evil bear that is willing to do anything to make her his.

I love shifter stories and wanted to enjoy this, too. Unfortunately, the plot of the story and the dialogue between the characters totally missed the mark. The main characters loved the word "gosh" and when the hero told the villain if he used a "gross word" again I had to wonder if I was reading a shifter version of Sweet Valley High. The 'villain' was also the most anti-villain I've ever read. The scene that should have culminated in a fight scene between bear shifters left him running away like a little girl. He even signed an agreement that he wouldn't bother the heroine again. Really? An agreement?!? *Sigh* It was just so terribly anticlimactic. For me this was a definite miss but other readers may not be at all bothered by them.

I gave this book three stars. It’s not a bad book, just a little slow I guess. This couple just didn’t do anything for me. It’s written pretty well just wasn’t my cup of tea I guess.

Leah has won a dream trip to the Caribbean it’s only after arriving that she learns she will be sharing a suite with two other women and that her whole trip is planned out. Leah doesn’t love the water so when she’s assigned scuba diving she’s less than thrilled but at least her instructor is super attractive. After her first lesson ends up with her fainting and learning that Sky isn’t just a scuba instructor but a polar bear shifter the whole scuba lessons aren’t so bad.

The more time Leah spends with Sky the more she finds herself falling in love with him and even learns to love Scuba diving like he does. She also learns a secret about her past which changes everything for her future even causing her to question her life back in New York. Will she return to the life she once had leaving Sky or will she give it up including the controlling boss for a life on the beach?

I liked Leah right from the start she’s a sweet girl who has a control freak boss and a secret that changes everything. I think she handles Sky’s furry personality really well, even embracing it as he spends the week prove that they have more than just a fling. I loved the chemistry between the two it was fun to see how much of a romantic Sky is he wasn’t your typical shifter.

I picked this one up on amazon a while back purely based on the fact that I’m a shifter nut and I love polar bears best of both worlds. I wasn’t sure what to expect because this is my first time reading this author and I’m still new to the bear shifter romance genre. First I enjoy my female characters to have some meat on their bones, curvy full figured is awesome and very refreshing from other typical heroines. I find it interesting that while Sky is one person his bear has his own thoughts very much reminds me of Charles from Alpha & Omega series which is another one of my favorites. I found Bear-ever Yours a quick fast paced read that had me smile through the whole novel it was hard to put down and I very much enjoyed it. I also liked that we are given a hint of the characters in the future novels. I also really liked that the character didn’t jump right into the sack it was more story less steamy moments it worked out perfectly not overwhelming like others. I enjoyed the characters and the story it was a cute paranormal romance.

Leah won a trip to a Caribbean paradise, if it wasn´t for the mandatory scuba diving. She´s not a fan of swimming, but the instructor makes it all worth it.
Along the way she makes friends, discovers unknown things about herself and enjoys a lot of smut and fluff.
Sky didn´t know what his dad was up to, but here´s a gorgeous woman that awakens his polar bear, and he can´t wait to claim her! Can they make a go of it?
Smutty fluff, polar bears and swimming in a great combo. Can´t wait to see how Sky´s brother fared..

“You’re my mate. You’re made for me, and me for you.” “How do you know?” she asked. He looked out at the ocean and then pointed above it. “How do you know that’s the sky? You just know. And so do I know you’re my mate.”

This started out good, but then fizzed out a bit for me. I really want to find GOOD polar bear romances. I might try another book in this series because his brothers sounded fun....I think the two leads in this book were a little bit personality less. The main female was plus sized but seriously that's the only "personality" that she had.

There was really no drama between the couple that lasted more than 30 seconds. Just didn't feel a lot of desire to keep going with the story but I finished it because it was short. Also some of the dialogue was a bit awkward but nothing horrible.

That said it's not a bad book. If you want something totally fluffy and short with shifter fated mates and like almost 0 drama this might work for you.

Shifters, I love them.

Leah wins an all expenses paid holiday, little does she know someone's trying to matchmake!

Sky is a scuba instructor and a polar bear, when he spots Leah he knows shes something special.

This book was okay. I didn't quite connect fully with the characthers.

The problem I had was how they spoke to each other it was a little annoying, Sky called Leah 'mate' most the time instead of Leah and she over used the word bear.

It was still an enjoyable read even if predictable. Sky I have to admit knew how to be romantic!

3 it was an okay read stars

I liked it; but the author leaves so much hanging. Like what happened to her parents? Did she met them? I mean Sky said that when he smelled the 3 girls he can tell that they are cousins. And Sky's dad likes to play matchmaker; how did he know which each girl gets which? And how did he know that Leah is a bear? I mean they said he was looking through the bears blood line but she was adopted.

Tropical Island Delight

A matchmaking father brings Leah to a tropical paradise to meet his son, Sky, a polar bear shifter. Sky loves the water and Leah definitely does not love water. But sparks ignite, and the only thing standing in the way is Leah's past, and fear. Good paranormal romance.

Disappointing

I like author Terry Bolryder's writing but this book was one that I enjoyed. The characters seemed very flat to me. I had no sense of a connection between them but it definitively had the potential to be more

Quick, cute PR. I didn't like how her life wasn't fleshed out more, but I guess with this series I'll get more later? Adorable couple with the superquick shifter bond that seems to be in hyperdrive with their story. I like how Sky becomes a caring and supportive mate, as opposed to the usual Grr Alpha thing. And since it's set in the islands, a perfect beach read.

Would you like some cheese with that?

Your basic paranormal romance, with a minor twist. Only a bit of conflict though, because you know, there can't be a happy-ever-after without conflict first. I think that might be a rule for romance. This was sweet with a side of cheese. A decent bedtime story. Pleasant dreams.

Bear-ever Yours by Terry Bolryder.
3 out of 5 stars.
Leah Maitland is over the moon with a competition that she's won. She's now on vacation for the first time in a long time. A fortnight in the caymans! She doesn't know who entered her for the competition but is very grateful to them because of that. The place is beautiful and the men.... well, the men are out of this world!
It's only when she sees the mandatory itinerary that she's not sure about it. Scuba diving, Deep diving, Swimming. She doesn't do any of them, but if she wants to stay then she's going to have to.
Sky Weston is the resident scuba instructor at the resort and as soon as he sees Leah in the hotel reception, his polar bear stakes its claim on her as their mate. She's the most beautiful woman in the world in his eyes and he wants to know everything about her.
But is everything going to be as simple as that? Of course, it isn't!

Overall it was a sweet story and I liked the mystery surrounding Leah's boss, with the mystery coming to a head between her, her boss and her mate.

For some reason, I didn't feel as fully invested as I would have liked in Leah and Sky's story and sped through it in one sitting.

Another hit by Terry

A, quick fun read. The youngest brother find a mate but she doesn't know about shifters. Great chemistry between characters and a sweet romance.

Short but a very sweet story! A bit rushed in places but pretty much straight to the point! Starting to see a pattern with Terry Bolryder maybe they are becoming a bit too predictable!
