I was supposed to be a contained threat. The pack council just chained me to the man who hated me most.
The man whose bite mark on my neck the whole academy can still see. The man I carved my teeth into in the pit corridor weeks ago. The man whose blood magic still burns where he touches me.
Torrin is my handler now. Six AM in the training yard. Every meal escorted. No unsupervised contact with the other heirs. The cage they built me has dimensions I can measure. They think I’m contained.
They have no idea what they’ve done.
Because Reid has already carved his runes on me, and his fingers know the shape of every one. Because Declan’s dead have been pressing toward me through a veil four hundred years thin, and Declan can finally hear them go quiet. Because Kieran still watches from the walls… and the bond between us has just learned how to hum.
And because there’s a thing in the dark beneath the mountain that has been waiting four hundred years for a wolf like me to come home.
Something old. Something hungry. Something that knows my name.
The pack council thinks they know the threat. They have stopped looking for the real one. They’re about to find out what was hunting them all along… and whose side I’m on when it surfaces.
Pack Lines is Book 2 of this wolf shifter academy series, a dark paranormal academy reverse harem romance featuring forced proximity, an enemies-to-lovers handler dynamic, fated mates igniting one by one, ancient pack politics, blood rites, and a cliffhanger ending. The full five-book series concludes with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.
Perfect for readers who • The cage as forced proximity that detonates • Bully alpha turned obsessive guardian • Why choose / reverse harem with four obsessive alphas • Fated mates igniting one bond at a time • Wolf shifter academies with ancient pack politics • Touch her and die protectiveness • Found family hardening into a pack • Slow-burn tension that finally combusts • Morally gray heroes worth surrendering to • A series HEA earned the hard way
I’m not sure how to rate this book. I enjoyed the premise. The story was different. The characters have depth and personality. The author’s writing was so repetitive…they kept repeating the same thing over and over, that it took away my enjoyment of the story. Wow, we get it, the female lead knows where her mates are ALL the time. I don’t think I will read the third book. However, because this book was so different from typical romance I might bump it a star. The book could have been edited better. Too long.
This is the bones of a great book that is bloated by AI. The number of paragraphs that are repeated nearly verbatim throughout the book is mind numbing. Also, lots of little details like “The journal had just 2 words on the next line _They were wrong_” Having a mismatch between the stated number and the actual number would be a dumb mistake if it happened once. But this is something they did over and over in the book and the count was wrong every time. Stupid AI stuff.
Really great world bringing brings all five points together. The characters are fleshed out fantastically and it can only get better from.here I will be downloading more of this writer's books
