Beautiful end. This was 1548pgs on Kindle, and no page was wasted. This didn't go at all like I expected. It also blew away expectations.
Like every book in this series, it was a slow burn to an epic end. We went to some interesting places in this one. All characters had at least one amazing moment.
This wrapped up perfectly. We were given an ending that celebrated this world, these characters, this series. We also got little sneak peeks as to what will come next from this author.
I am feeling so many feelings right now, the truest testament to this series and its aurhor. Beautiful.

How do you even review the final book in a series you’ve loved this much?
At 1,548 pages, The Last Renewal is enormous, and yet I genuinely wouldn’t have wanted it to be any shorter. Not one page felt wasted. Everything that makes the Bladeborn Saga so special is here: incredible worldbuilding, unforgettable characters, dragons, animal companions, magic swords, huge battles and a story that feels truly epic in every sense of the word.
What impressed me most was how well T.C. Edge brought such a massive story to its conclusion. After following these characters and this world for eight books, I had so many questions and expectations going into the finale. By the end, every question that mattered had been answered and the story felt complete.
Was the ending satisfying? Absolutely.
Did it also have me in tears? Very much so.
There were moments that completely broke my heart, but nothing felt pointless or done purely for shock value. The emotional moments were earned, the character arcs mattered, and the payoff after everything that came before was exactly what I wanted from the conclusion of an epic fantasy saga.
And somehow, despite 1,548 pages, I still wasn’t ready to leave this world when it was over.
The Bladeborn Saga is one of those series that makes me wonder why more people aren’t talking about it. It is epic indie fantasy at its finest and, in my opinion, incredibly underrated.
I’m genuinely sad that this was the final book. Saying goodbye to a world and characters I’ve spent so much time with is never easy, especially when the journey has been this good.
I can only hope this isn’t the last we hear from T.C. Edge, because whatever comes next, I’ll be there to read it.

What an amazing finale to what has become one of my favourite series. The battles were intense and filled with so many memorable moments. I love that practically every character got at least one special moment. This book finally sees some of the reunions and moments that we have been waiting so long for. And the ending itself made me so very happy.
Great book, I will absolutely be keeping an eye on this author to see what he writes next.

Brilliant finish to an outstanding series of books,I’ve loved it all from the first page of book one to the last page of book 8.I’m 68 years of I’ve been reading fantasy books on and off for 50 odd years and this series I would say are best I have ever read,they are brilliant.

Here we are, the last book in what has been an absolutely awe encompassing epic saga that quite frankly, (and I say this with as much conviction as possible) is not talked about enough! Wow, book 8 “The Last Renewal” from T.C. Edge, and the grand finale in his monstrous “The Bladeborn Saga” series has arrived, and let me just say it again…WOW! The build up over the years with this creation has yielded an end that will find Edge, and this chonker, on many ‘top reads of the year’ lists! 🤯
A chonker indeed, at 1548 pages (kindle edition) this ending is packed with the extreme detail, depth, trials and action all readers should now expect from Edge and this Saga. The size may sound extremely daunting, but I assure you this reads unbelievably smooth, and you may in fact wish there was more to come after it ends. The vast group of characters spread across the map all play detrimental parts in this wrap up, and each character arc is loaded with intrigue, hope, struggle and desperation. The ability to tie together such a wide group, with a deeply layered story is something Edge possesses and displays with ease. This right here is why a book of this size feels…right! God's there's just so much going down, and T.C. pulls you right into each chapter. Heart thumping battles, strategic character placement, allies from all corners, and worlds yet undiscovered await the readers of this beauty. Bring a drink…your nerves and emotions will need it! 🥃

This series deserves far more recognition than it gets. It’s easily one of the best fantasy sagas I’ve ever read.
I really hope it gets more attention from fantasy book influencers so more people discover this incredible series, because it truly deserves it.
Reading the final book was a mix of satisfaction and sadness. It delivered everything I was hoping for, but at the same time it was hard to say goodbye to these characters. I loved how every single character had an important role to play in the final war. TC did an amazing job of making everyone feel relevant, and that made the conclusion even more satisfying.
Congratulations on such an incredible ending!

I have enjoyed this series for a few years but this book almost ruined it for me.
The story ended for the most part as expected which is why I gave it 2 stars.
Beyond that, the writing was awful. It was lazy. All of the complex, incredible female characters were either sidelined or turned into simpering, eye fluttering submissive idiots who only wish to get married or have babies. Best let the men folk handle everything else.
I listened to the audiobook and during the epilogue some version of “it didn’t suit her brand” was said 4 times in 11 minutes about one character.

An Epic Ending
It was long but worth it. At times I felt this drag on as each character POV was described. But, at the end of the story I found myself feeling extremely satisfied with the story. The whole saga wrapped up with an epic battle that never seemed to end. The post battle writing was a fantastic way to conclude the saga.

The final book in an amazing series. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each and every book in this series. The good guys are good and the bad guys are bad. There are dragons, giant bears, wolves, panthers, eagles, and swords/steel as companions. The world is rich in history and steeped in culture. These books are not for the faint of heart due to their immense size but fear not, the story is worth the size. Speaking of size, while I loved this series, and especially this final book, my only real complaint is that it feels like the author could’ve cut some words out. Some portions of the story get too far into the weeds and spend too much time in some fluff if you ask me. That isn’t the case for every chapter or character. When the story is moving, it moves at a steady pace and is very engaging. You’re kept guessing when and how is this story going to come together? How is it going to wrap? But have no fear, around the 40 to 50 percent mark is when the end starts to really show up. Characters start to come together, revelations get more intense, the visions from the eye start to make more sense, and I found myself getting even more locked in to the story. As usual, the action is top notch, the different animals and creatures Edge has created are fantastical and majestic, and the characters continue to grow as people, even here in the Last Renewal. One thing I’ve hoped from the very first reveal comes to pass. In the last portion of this final book, the scale and scope of the battle is absolutely massive in scope and scale, but the author does a fantastic job of doing it justice through the multiple POVs. The stakes are beyond imagine and the nerves are high and you never know what’s going to happen or who will die and who will survive. The way this truly epic story comes together is majestic and such a joy to read. The ending is sweet and heartwarming, leaving readers with a very content feeling about the state of the world going forward.

Looooooooved this series, and this was a great finish! Waited what felt like forever for this final volume to come out, and it was worth it. I have read several multi book sagas that when I finally got to the end I was just left with 'huh' kind of feelings. Not the case here. Throughout the entire series the questions of who would be left standing at the completion were not always who you thought they would be and things didn't always play out as expected, which I feel is a nice change. That said, the characters the I really wanted to see complete their journeys were taken care of in satisfactory ways. Would highly recommend this series to everyone.

Almost DNF'd. Had to take a break to be able to get through it. If I had read the physical book instead of audiobook, I highly doubt I would have finished the novel. Overall a very predictable and unsatisfying end to the series. Feels almost trite. And the novel could have benefited from HEAVY editing - I kept finding myself thinking how much Edge must love the sound of his own (rather banal) prose because of how much unnecessary descriptions, explanations, drawn out character interactions that were, again, trite. It's not BAD. It's just mediocre writing and lacks creativity in plot progression.

I hated to see it end
When I started this series, I was a bit put off by the amount of typos. They can be very distracting and I sent in my share of reports. That being said, this ended up being a beautiful and complex story. I fell in love with it and definitely laughed and in the end I cried at the death of one so strong and proud. I will say I kept hoping the heir would get there sooner, but that is on how I felt it would end. I plan on looking at his other books and seeing which one peaks my interest.

What an awesome awesome read. T.C. Edge is one of my all time favorite writers. The bladeborn saga was my favorite book series. This latest book, The Last Renewal was the icing on the cake. I honestly could not put the book down once I started. The main characters storyline, the Daecar family kept me glued to the book. I just wish that the series would continue on. I highly recommend this book series!!

Loved the series!
I'm just going to do one review for the whole series. T.C. Edge is a great writer. The character development is well thought out and I have enjoyed reading every page. I usually don't enjoy the blood and guts type of warfare but I felt like it didn't distract from the flow of the books by being overwhelming. If you love dragons and swords slashing war then you will love this series.

Masterpiece.
This series is one of a kind. It has been well worth the wait For the last renewal. All I can say is that I enjoyed it so much and it ended very well, leaving nothing hanging. Our characters are settled, being able to live the live they deserve. The fallen went with honor, and will never be forgotten. Thank you Toby for bringing us this wonderful world of adventure.

The scale of the book was immense. I remember being fascinated by the intrigues in the beginning of the series, but as the scale of plot/war grew larger my investment in the books grew dimmer. In way it almost felt like naruto shippuden. The story grew less interesting as higher and higher powers were brought into existence, though I am interested in the exploration of the council that was alluded to. Regardless, apt ending to a long journey. I toast to Amron Daecar, Varin Reborn.

Totally enjoyed the whole series, such interesting characters and world. Loved all the connections throughout, had to at least partially reread the previous book before starting the next time refresh and remind myself if what was happening...so worth it!! Thank you for such a memorable story

Utterly satisfying in every way!
Epic in the truest sense of the word. Among the finest examples of creating complex characters and giving them the time to develop. I would compare it to Wheel of Time only to say that in WoT there were entire books that could have been cut. Not so here. Each and every quest was fresh and exciting. Kept me up late many nights. Thank you so much.

A superb adventure.
A must read if you like fantasy action stories. I haven't read a series this good in a long time. Its full of action and adventure, with excellent characters and a lot of fun along the way. Its a great take on the good versus evil that we all have on our lives. Definitely recommend!

I love how all the threads of this story were done and that they stayed true to who they were. This author is great and I'd recommend him to anyone and everyone.

EPIC!
This series ranks up there with the best👍Full of action, memorable characters, romance, humour, poignancy and countless twists and turns. Excellently written and conceived, shame it has come to the end😔 but looking forward to the next project👍🙂

Great read
Blade born sea born fire born and many characters. Still easy to keep in context of countries. Some romance. Many battle scenes. Some unexpected deaths. All in all very riveting. And of course the dragons. Love dragon sagas

Yes it is long.
But every page is necessary and important. A truly heroic epic saga. Some of our heroes don't return home. Others are forever changed. Such is life. And so are stories told, to be passed along and find new life in the telling

One GREAT saga
What a great story. Waiting on each book was so worth it. Loved all of the characters and how they were flushed out. The twists and turns were great and I could see, really see the people,beasts and landscapes. Truly great writing. Bravo!

honestly amazes me how this series isnt more popular . good stuff . must have been pretty hard to write connecting all this story lines and plot points with all these characters growing in really good ways . so many lessons learns satisfying conclusion . 10/10
