Crossing Oceans

Rate this book
Dominique Simmons didn't survive getting shot, losing her scholarship, and building a business from scratch just to fall apart over a man.

Even if that man has been the one she couldn't shake since they were teenagers running the same block in Mobile.

Dexter Nash has loved Nique longer than he has been willing to admit. He fumbled her once. Then again. Now with a daughter, a thriving business, and a baby mama who has never made anything easy, he is done waiting for the right moment. There is no right moment. There is just her.

When London's destination wedding pulls their entire circle to Tulum, Nique lands with more than she packed. Her ex just cheated, her estranged mother is on the guest list, and Dex is right there, steady and certain, showing up in every way that counts and refusing to let her drown alone.

One week, one island , and the truth about where she comes from is about to change everything she thought she knew about herself.

Crossing Oceans is a story about the love that never fully leaves you, what it means to show up for someone when showing up costs you something, and the kind of man who knows the difference between saying I love you and proving it.

Some bridges are worth rebuilding.

Some oceans are worth crossing.

Nique is about to find out if she is brave enough to meet him on the other side.

NTMA!

This was my first time reading this author, and I enjoyed the writing style. Dex's and Nique's love story was quite complex. Loving someone who is constantly running from you and refusing to hear you out had to be very frustrating, but Dex refused to give up on what they could be, and it was really sweet to see. The storyline with Nique and her mother was also really interesting. I'm not usually one to forgive terrible parents, but it's definitely a credit to Alex Husb's storytelling that she actually made me feel an ounce of empathy for them. Niique's growth in the story was commendable, and I definitely will be reading from this author again.

This was a messy, second chance romance and I loved it! Nique and Dex had a very messy history and start to their relationship but I was to see them get their HEA.

Finally Getting What I Deserve!

Yayyyy London and Eli!! Poor Paris I pray everything works out. Stella tore me up at that private dinner. I’m soooo happy for Nique. Baby I cried for the love she yearned for, losses, newfound joy, happiness, and the little girl inside of her. This book touched on so much that makes you look within but then comes right back and grounds you. Dex is the perfect man but his ways and fear kept him from what he should’ve had lifetimes ago. He’s determined to get what he wants even if it means crossing the ocean to get it. Loved it.

Ate this up!!!!

I stayed up all night reading this book and it was worth it!!!! I enjoyed diving more into Dex and Nique’s story. For years they were known for always F’n and fighting. But to see the backstory of it all, I understood why Nique treated Dex a certain way. But Dex was still determined to prove why she’s the woman for him. All in all this book was 1000/10!!! I experience almost every emotion reading their story. I’m going to always look forward to Alex Husb books🥰

4.4 stars it would of been higher I just was so on the fence about a few things. First of this book was so well written and flowed so good. Definitely made me cry because me and Dominque are the same woman and handle things the exact same way especially mommy issues. I loved all the relationship dynamics especially Dex’s and Nique. Amina smh girl go find you somebody cause you were getting on my nerves real bad! I wish we can get a follow up novella because I need more.

This was good

This was the first book I have read by this author, and I really enjoyed it

- I did not mind Nique being stubborn at all because it was justified with everything her and Dex went through. Communication was there biggest problem

The love was there tho and Dex wasn’t letting Nique get away

Overall, this is a 4.5/5 for me

Healing Waters

This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed every minute of it. The names of the chapters and the pacing of the story. There are so many possible storylines from this. I don’t like Amina women like her irritate my soul. Chasing a man who you know doesn’t love you and trying to get him to is a special kind of sickness.
