I like the writing of James Schaap and I enjoyed this collection of short stories; however, the anthology may now be "dated"/have a targeted demographic in that it speaks of a predominantly Dutch immigrant Calvinist community. While some of the themes are universal to all humanity, some may not have the patience to wrestle with stories they feel they cannot/can no longer connect with.
