Welcome back to the Block, where your neighbors are MMA competitors and your favorite investigator is still busy as hell. Round two of The Fighter’s Block is about to begin…
Consumed by questions he can’t answer and a childhood he barely remembers, Cole spends his time working cases for others instead. His skills are in high demand and he stays focused on whatever assignment he takes on, but the truth is, his past will always be there to haunt him.
Now a new case has occupied his time. Following the motto “expect the unexpected,” Cole faces each obstacle with precise intuition. He’s good at what he does because he remains detached, avoiding personal relationships so his judgment is never impaired. But finding Leah Kemp changes everything, and it’s only the beginning to an entirely new collection of buried secrets. Lives will no doubt be turned upside down.
As usual, no one is who they seem to be. Friend or foe, everyone has lied to him at some point. Cole has let down his guard a little too much and he’s starting to regret it. But there’s only one person that helps him see what his life has become, and she refuses to come second to anything.
He has new decisions to make, but will he make the right choice before it’s too late? Find out in the gripping romantic suspense…
Besides books, I love music, dance, sports, and sunshine. I love live music and love going to concerts. Doesn't tell you much, but you'll learn way more about me from social media or my blog site!
My writing: I don't write short stories. I'd rather have one full story instead of turning it into two. I believe in order to build a relationship with a book, it takes time to get to know it. I like my characters to be well-developed. I like the story to show rather than tell. I like my heroes to have integrity and my heroines to be strong. Just as importantly, I like them to have a sense of humor. I believe in adversity because it is a natural part of life, and I like my characters to learn that as well. And I definitely *prefer* happily ever afters!
This book was a bit confusing I was thinking Cole and Leah were gonna be together WRONG!! lol I just don't know what to say I did like it but I didn't like how it turned out in the end...kinda weird to me I mean thats not usually how it goes....and I usually am like same old same old but now I'm like nope don't like it go figure lol

Another great story in this trilogy. The author weaves a good plot and good characters who are very likable. I was once again surprised by the twist at the end as well as others in this book.
I freaking loved this book. I’ve been dying to read it for a while now and Hadley has been fueling the fire with teasers and choosing a breathtaking cover model. Finally, when the book was finally in my hot little hands, life kept getting in the way. I didn’t want to put the book down, I even took my Kindle shopping with me so I could read during the down times or in the car. This book was everything I had wanted and more. Of course, it did help that I had a very vivid, very sexy picture of Cole in my mind throughout the book. I really enjoyed the way this book played out. There were two stories that needed to be told, one showcasing how awesome of an investigator Cole is, the other showing Cole trying to find the answers to his past and his future.
There are some really heart wrenching moments in this book. Some moments that made me tear up a little and want to give Cole a big hug. I also felt for poor Leah. She was handed a pretty crappy deal as well, but she stayed strong. There were also some hilarious laugh out loud moments. When Van and Cole get together, there was a lot of tension at times while they tried to figure out what was going on with Leah, but holy crap are those two funny together. Their banter is the kind of back and forth I have with my close friends.
The suspense was high throughout the entire book and I was constantly on the edge of my seat. I thought I had things figured out and then it turned out I was wrong. I love that, especially since it rarely happens. I loved seeing Van and Dani and Mickey and Cody. I hope there are more Block books and that we get to see them all again.
When it comes to Cole’s happily ever after, I loved every second of it. I was thrown as to which direction he was going to go in, but where he ended up was exactly what I wanted for him. I absolutely adore the girl (I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t read the book). She’s perfect for Cole. It was great to see someone get behind those walls of his and get into his heart.
I can’t gush enough about this book. Hadley Quinn has proved once again why she is one of my favorite authors.
WOW! Okay, so this book is different. Cole's story is COLE'S story. It picks up a while after book 1, and we get to catch up w/ Van & Dani, which is nice. Cole's on a mission for Van & it brings out a LOT of intrigue & mystery & a twisty, turny storyline. I totally wasn't sure what to think at first. All the mysteries piling up & that's not usually my thing. I couldn't figure out where anything was going & what on earth was I reading?!
There is a romance nestled in the story. But even that has some intrigue going on, and the majority of the story is NOT about that - and yet it's ALL about that. I know, makes no sense, right?
The story sucked me in & even when I was saying, "This story is so STRANGE!" I was loving it. And the ending, the wrap ups, the continuations of things? Beautiful & Brilliant & a great story all around! I ended up really falling in love w/ Cole. : )
Another 5 star read from Hadley Quinn. She has taken us on another mysterious suspenseful ride. There are some heartbreaking moments along with some laughable moments. Yes, there are still some hot scenes to be taken in as well. Cole is trying to investigate and figure out his past. What happens when Cole gets knocked backwards? What does his case reveal? Throughout this book you find yourself wondering (ok I have it figured out) then Hadley Quinn hits you with a "right hook" and you realize that you were wrong. This is a fabulous series. I am looking forward to more from Hadley Quinn. When it comes to reading a romance suspense Hadley Quinn is an author you should follow.
I really wasn't sure what to expect with this book and which direction it would ultimately go in because there was so much happening! But I was pleasantly surprised. I liked Cole and I liked Julia, I thought they were both pretty well developed, Cole a little more so than Julia. It was a great story, very entertaining, and I couldn't put it down. I guess I felt like there was more going on with the other plots in the book than with the romance, so I kind of missed that in the book. I wanted more romance. But it was still a great story and I really enjoyed it. And I absolutely loved the ending and how it tied into book one.
I didn't dislike the story or the book but the blurb was sort of misleading?
A lot of it has to do with Cole finding Leah, and a lot about Leah and her life. Cole's romantic interest is not who you would think. That just sat a little weird with me.
Sort of like two books in one. Too much on one story and not enough on another.
At first I thought I knew how this was gonna go and she totally surprised me...love me some Cole...he's like superman or maybe Batman!!! Oh and I love the friendship that developed between him and Van.
I liked the story, but for me the book was too long. It's like the author just kept adding stuff and she left some things up in the air. I liked the characters. I am glad the boom was only $0.99
After the first book of this series. I had no idea where this one would lead. Hadley had me chomping at the bit for more every page. Cole a man of few words but lots of action. I loved the ending but want more...
This book was a whirlwind of mystery and I could hardly wait to get the answers to so may questions. I loved Cole and his dedication to finding the truth and was happy to see him open up and let himself love and be loved.
