Where to start? Probably with the lack of continuity. You’d think characters would remember anal sex. But not these two. They did it for the first time twice. This is where an outline of your plot really comes in handy. The name of the H’s former love actually changed. That was a bit jarring. Did he have two? No. Author just changed the name and didn’t bother to do a universal search/replace. This is where a list of characters really comes in handy.

Another example of continuity was the bare bottom spanking.

“I had not experienced the torment nor the pleasure of being chastised over his knee with my bare bottom in the air yet.”

Oh yes, you did. Over 100 pages earlier.

Next were all the different synonyms for breast. I am not a fan of “udder” or “teat” or “milky mounds”...just call them breasts. Too bad there wasn’t a synonym used for “pulling nipples to capacity” - five times doesn’t sound like a lot, but it really is.

The author uses daddy, but this is not a DD/lg story. I never did figure out why the use of daddy except it balances out the hero calling her baby girl. There is nothing else “little” about the book. The h also calls him sir and master once. Those really are more telling of the relationship - given the wax and ice and crop.

She’s never been more loved. She loves submission. He’s going to protect her. She is safe with him. She’s not enough for anyone. He can’t wait. She’s very wet.

There now. Saved you time.

I won’t even go into the random commas and quotation marks flung around like confetti. Oops, just did.

The characters behaved rather idiotically - he’s a billionaire who doesn’t have bodyguards after a viable threat? The sexy times were imaginative rather than realistic. The premise, a French billionaire quickly taken by an older troubled Englishwoman - even a married one - had a lot of potential. But it didn’t get realized in the lazy execution.

The story was quite enjoyable, for the most part. Was it realistic? No, but I like to read stories like this as much as I like reading the 'true to life' ones. I had to give this book only 3 stars because there were too many sentences that made no sense... it's like she started to say one thing, only to reword it without removing the old words. I also rated it low for consistency. I know this was three 'books' and the edition I read was all 3 together so I don't know where each part ended. If my assumption is correct, parts 2 & 3 each have a scene where Gabrielle stated that it was her first time doing something. When I came across it the second time, I had to go back and reread the first one to make sure I read it right the first time.

I had no issues with the 'Daddy' thing, nor did I have an issue with the infidelity (her husband was a jerk).

*****

POV ... 1st person

Stand alone or series... stand alone (I read the bundle)

Would I recommend it ... maybe

Did it give me a book hangover... no

Would I read it again ... anything is possible

This book was soooooo trying. The first portion of the book I liked but I honestly believe it's because the other book I was reading was such crap. In the end I had to force myself to finish this book. It was just not believable. The story line jumped from one crazy plot line to another and then filled in the rest with lukewarm sex scene after lukewarm sex scene after lukewarm sex scene. This book just landed flat for me.

HOTT!!!!!

This is the first book I have read by Arabella. I loved it. You can connect with the character and it is very well written.

This may be a short read but it's packed with so much, love, suspense, a history.

Gabrielle is in a love less marriage when she meets Valentin it seems too good to be true. She's been degraded by every man in her life and doesn't trust them wall while she degrades herself for never brewing good enough for anyone. Valentin works hard to get her to see that she is worthy of love and that she is beautiful.

Will he be able to push through her barrier and make her see their relationship the way he does? You will have to read and find out :)

so bad

Wanted to like this but main character calling him Daddy really turned me off. Too much sex without passion or love. Glad it was a free book. First negative review I have ever made.

Love

If not for things I had to do I wouldn't have put it down at all, but this goes in my favorite s list for sure. Her struggles to just be loved by him and feel worth his love was heartbreaking but how he helped her threw it was wonderful.
